I miss Doyle...he was so great and had the best sense of humor. I was crushed when he died...it was terrible...
Did you guys know that Glenn Quinn (he played Doyle) actually died from a heroin overdose....and not that long after Doyle was off the show

I loved Doyle and I knew that Glen Quinn is dead crying . I don't think that you should say how he died when on his website it says that his family doesn't want everyone to know

Maybe she didn't know it was some what Tabo. I mean I think it's interesting to hear how people died I knew he had killed himself but didn't know how. I miss Doyle a lot too. He was a better actor than his brother Adin Quinn.

I already knew how he died, and I thought Glenn played Doyle awesomely. He was also good as Mark on Roseanne though.
By the way, Doyle was only in less than half of Angel's first season, none after that.

They should have found somebody who wasn't so risky to keep around. Doyles death most likely put a dramatic dent in the plot that would have been.

Well he was cut from the script in Angel in 1999 and killed himself in 2002. So I don't think he changed the plot any. Unless they cut him because they saw that he used drugs a lot but I doubt that. People said he enjoyed the Role of Doyle so much.

From what I heard they cut him because he and Angel, personality wise, had too much in common. They wanted to bring in someone that would be an opposite and to further personality traits and to be somewhat of a foil. Yeah Cordy could have been considered the foil but they didn't want it to turn out to be Angel and Doyle vs. Cordy.

I thought they killed Doyle off to show that Angel was darker than Buffy and that none of the characters would really be "safe". question

Ori I thought they killed Doyle off to show that Angel was darker than Buffy and that none of the characters would really be "safe". question that's what I thought as well. I think they actully put that in one of the 'unoffical' guides to the buffyverse(the real one). I LOVED doyle. I wish they could have found some magic way to bring him back. They did it with buffy. I'm sure they could have done it with him. His was a mystical death.

I never bother to learn the specifics of writers and actors and scripts and stuff. I still can't tell you any of the writers for the two shows, except that Joss guy. Anyway, it still felt like he had more to do with his character. Like that one episode where Angel tells him he'll have to explain his past someday. There just seemed to be too much left undone for the plot to suddenly have him killed off. I also still say he didn't deserve the role to begin with, even if his characters death WAS planned.

I doubt that post will make much of a difference. I've known for awhile, ever since I randomly looked up Glen Quinn to see what else he was in, cause I really liked him on Angel.

Wow, I didn't realize he was Adian Quinn's brother. I guess I should have wondered since that is not the most common last name, but sometimes I am just clueless.
I loved Doyle. I think it was a great tragedy that Glenn and his character Doyle both died. I weep everytime I watch that episode.

Okay, that sceen was sad in the first place, if my siblings weren't there, and I hadn't already known from reading the books, I would have burst into tears right then and there. Now that I know he is dead in real life, well that is even sadder, I am going to cry if I ever watch that episode again, my sibs be damned.
