For me it used to be Sheegoths...until I met Grenchlers. Now I think Sheegoths are cute! Especially the baby ones! ^^

You have to play it to understand.

The screen isn't that wide, and the second you see the Metroid on the screen, you don't have the reaction time to prepare for it. It just attacks out of nowhere and they blast this haunting, screeching "Gonna get'cha!" music.

Scares the s**t out of you if you're not ready for it.

by the Metroids and Space Pirates. (In prime there really werid!)

-I would say SAX as well... but I haven't yet played that game...... <.<;;;

SA-X. I've had over (and I'm not exaggerating) 10 nightmares since the release of Metroid Fusion that have involved me being chased by that sucker. The only reason I beat that game was because I got a friend to go through all the SA-X parts for me. I can't stand a boss that's my size.
And in the original Metroid, the Metroids. I figured out that I needed the Ice Beam to get past them in Tourian, only because of Fusion, how Samus could get frozen by the SA-X because of a side-effect in the Metroid vaccine
EDIT: Also the 2nd Mother Brain form in Super Metroid. That thing makes me scream so badly.
