Kaede had wandered off yet again. Being on her own was nice and gave her the opportunity to seek out new friends and see other lions just like her! Even if her siblings gave her odd looks when she stated she was a lion, Kaede believed it was so. Besides, Ger had said she could be what she wanted, adn she had her heart set on being a big strong lion!

She was near the Pridelander borders now, almost in rogue territory, but she knew to not go too far for it could be dangerous. At least if she was still within the Pride area she could call for help if anything bad happened. But who would want to mess with a little lion with her anyway? She was fierce and could take care of herself if she needed too!

She sat back onto the grass below her and pawed at a few taller strands of the grass, it amused her. But she was saddened. She hadn't seen Ger in a while, adn wanted to see him again. Show him how much bigger and smarter she had gotten...but on the other hand, she didn't have any other new friends to tell him of. Perhaps this day could bring a new friend across her path...least she prayed it would. Kaede was fun loving, and wanted a new friend to have fun with badly.

The day was young.

For a while, Ororo'Lisani had had a sudden urge to meander far beyond the boarders of the Unity Walker territory and had happened to drift towards the outskirts of Pridelands in mere curiosity and with a rather intriuged nature. Lisani had never immersed himself within the pridelands and nor did he ever want to but today he found he could make an acception.

For too long his heart yearned for him to explore, to break away just for a bit and let his mind relax and meditate on the past events. How he loved the godess, Kiva, and vowed to always be at her side and aid her in raising the new cubs yet, still, how he longed for a family of his very own. There was no anger nor hatred that abided with him and the adolescent could never even fathome holding anything against her.

Padding casually through the tall grass, Ororo's orcher eyes glanced about curiosly as the surroundings before him were new and uncharted to him. But, somehow, he felt as if he wasn't alone.

Perking his ears upwards as his tail swayed behind him, the adolescent shook his head and let the sensations roll off his back. Though he should be cautious and careful within a foreign territory, Lisani let a small smirk curl upon his maw as he pressed onwards.

"Such an interesting place..."

Kaede's grren eyes were still on that of the grass she was pawing at. Why couldn't today get exciting?! Her ears twitched to teh side as she3 thought she heard someone speak. Crouching down low, belly almost touching the ground she crept forward as if a lion cornering her prey. Someone was close.

Her golden pelt was hidden in that of the taller grass, and she tried to not make a sound. She dare not make a sound if it was something that could be dangerous to her. She was still so small, it seemed everyone was growing up faster then her. It wasn't fair!

As she got closer she could see the vague shadow of another figure, the scent was male, she could tell, and it looked pretty big, creeping even closer she saw that it was another lion. Yay! Her spirit was raised. Perhaps this lion would be her friend. But on the other hand, he didn't seem familiar...now was the time to be fierce and protect her home from an intruder.

Kaede leapt from the grasses in front of the figure, ears backwards and tried making a growling sound...but it didn't work too well. But this lion didn't seem as a threat, so she straitened herself up and looked up at him,
"Who're you?" she asked with curiousity.

Standing in place as ocher eyes wandered about, the reoccuring sense that he was not alone seemed to present itself more stronger than ever. Knitting his brows with a mild confusion, Ororo meandered a few steps forwards.

"Who would want anything to do with a lion?" He chuckled to himself as he almost seemed to strut through the tall grass, throwing his head to the side as his tapered mane whisped about.

But before he could taken another step a figure jumped out at him.

Caught off guard and rather startled, Ororo jostled and backtracked in his steps and flattened his hears against his skull. To say the least, the adolescent wasn't the best at staying calm when startled and his nerves wasn't composed of steel. He never did have that strength and courage as Kiamba'Roho but, besides, that, Lisani had his own wit and strengths that Kiamaba never could live up to.

"Whoah!" He gasped with a mild growl, taken aback and striving to cling to his composure from being caught off guard. Blinking several times as he peered at the small-- er, whatever the small creature was, Lisani hesitantly smiled.

"I- I'm Ororo'Lisani...Wh-who are you?"

Kaede tilted his head at him as he stepped back and even growled, but he seemed nervous. What kind of lion was he?! Kaede's tail swayed abck adn forth as she peered up a him with eager green eyes,
"Interesting name..." she said quietly and smiled at him, "I like it! I'm Kaede," she said making a circle around him. Admiring his mane, it was so unique!

"Youra lion just like me," she said beaming, this was nice, meeting another lion! Maybe he'd be a friend to her like Ger is. "What brings you this way?" she asked curiously, Ororo was interesting. She had never seen him before or seen a mane quite like his. She wondered if he was staying or coming to visit someone. Or perhaps just wandered this way by chance!

Anything was possible in Kaede's mind.

Black striped ears flickered while he settled his ocher orbs upon the--wait, did she just say she was a lion too? Ororo knitted his brows in more confusion than ever and open his maw to speak. Unfortunately, he couldn't even find the right words to convince the young child that she wasn't actually a lion yet, on the other hand, he didn't want to dismantle her creative imagination all to quickly. For now, he'd just play along.

"Kaede," he repeated as the name seemed to slid off his tongue rather easily. "Well, young lioness...shouldn't I be asking you the same question? But I guess I'll have to tell my tale first," he chuckled softly as he settled upon his haunches, his streaked tail flicking behind him in a casual manner. "I'm from the valley but, well-- I just wanted to venture around a new territory so here I am."

A warm smile curled upon his maw as he slunk down onto his stomach and swatted his paw at the tall grasses that danced alongside the passing breeze. Oh, this was very much interesting! Ororo could go along with this and even the small one in front of him was quite amusing.

This was certainly going to be fun.

"So," he began with a soothing purr, "What's your story?"

Kaede took a few steps closer to Ororo and polpped herself down in front of him as well, corssing her forelegs over one another eyes fixated on him and what he said. She nodded at his words and they seemed honest enough. Finally! Someone acknowledged her being a lioness afterall. This made Ororo get a gold star in her mind.

"Traveling must be fun yes?" she asked. Kaede wished to travel, but this was her home. Her family was here, and it was familiar to her. Someday she wished that she could travel and see new places as well.

"I live here with my family, I like to go out on my own though...try to make new friends..." Kaede said, but then her eyes traveled to the ground. "I don't have many friends outside my siblings though...only one other, nad he hasn't visited yet..." she said trailing off. Ger hadn't been abck in a while. She wondered if she should go looking for him. Blast the rate at which she was growing, all the other cubs she had seen here were getting bigger and bigger each day but she was growing so slow!

"You just staying here for a while? Or joining the pride?" Kaede asked in a curious manner, she wondered if he'd only stay for a little bit and leave like Ger had. But she hoped if Ororo left, they they became friends before he did, and that he would come abck and visit.

Ororo couldn't help but grin as Kaede settled closer towards him, lying down just beside him and looking up at him with interest and, of course, curiosity.

He nodded his head. "I don't travel too often but when I get the chance I never ignore it," he mused with a smile. Tilting his head slightly as he listened, Ororo swayed his tail behind him as he too crossed his forepaws and rested his head upon them.

Not many friends? There was a strange way in which Ororo could relate to Kaede: Though Lisani wasn't the strongest and didn't posess the brawns that many sought for, he, most of the time, roamed alone and clung to his family for friendship and support. But that all seemed to change when he met Kiva and now he had someone more than a friend, he was her mate.

"Sometimes going on an adventure is the best way to meet new friends. That's how I meet alot of people and, well-- that's what's happening now, right?" Shifting his head upon his paws as he slightly rolled onto his side, the adolescent sighed softly.

"No-- I'm just roaming. I have a pride back home but, I'll tell you what, I'll come and visit you as often as I can." Smiling warmly as he rolled onto his back, Lisani peered at the small "lioness" with a goofy grin.

"Friends?"

She listened intently, it was nice to hear about the interests of others besides her family, especially in times like this. She smiled at him when he spoke of how roaming was a good way to meet others, she roamed the Pridelands a lot but enevr seemed to manage catching up to someone who would want to talk with her.

Her tail wagged as he continued, saying the word 'friends' almost made her squeak in happiness. Another friend! Surely her dad and siblings and mom and even Ger would be happy! But none of them would be able to feel the happiness welled up inside Kaede at that moment. Ororo was differe,t bigger then any lion she had talked to, and he was going to be her friend!

"Yes, friends." she said with a smile.

Kaede scooted close to him as he flopped over nad she rested beside him, resting her head on one of his massive paws (least they were massive compared to herss). "I'd like you to come visit, you can see how big and fierce I'll be when I grow bigger Ororo..." This was nice, just thinking of what the future might hold, resting with a friend. This day coudn't get any better, that Kaede was convinced.

His heart seemed to swell as he saw a smile beam across the maw of the "lioness", making him feel accomplished and that he was certainly doing something worthwild and making a difference. Though others might have thought of him crazy or stupid to fall for such a trick and to go along with a plot, Lisani rather enjoyed the creative imagination of youngin's and loved to play along as well.

"Till the end," he grinned with a rumble of laughter as he rolled back onto his stomach.

Watching as Kaede manuvered herself closer and laid her head to rest upon his paws, Ororo'Lisani laid his head close by hers and rumbled softly. Even though he was massive and a large lion in comparion to little Kaede, he was a softie.

"You'll be the fierciest lioness to walk the land!" He whispered with a contagious grin that slide father across his maw.

Kaede smiled and tried to growl playfully at him, but it still sounded a bit jackal-ish though Kaede totally ignored that fact. She was a lion, and would be strong and fierce just like Ororo said.
"Yes, then perhaps one day I'll be big enough to pink you!" she giggled, it'd be impossible for her to try now, he was so big!

Standing up and stretching she polpped back down again, nuzzling his cheek and resting her head next to his again. The sun was starting to set, where had the day gone! It was totally unfair! She curled up closer to his side, wishing te sun to rise back up again. Ororo was her new friend, she didn't want him to leave quite yet, and she didn't want to go home quite yet either.

Here was nice.

Sitting next to Ororo having fun and talking was a nice reprieve from her siblings and parents. He was her new friend, she didn't want to go, why was the sun so cruel!

So she ignored it.

Kaede ignored the sun that was setting and wagged her tail, perhaps he wouldn't notice, and he'd stay longer. Yes, that would be nice. Ororo and Kaede, a pair to be reckoned with! She liked the sound of that.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 22, 2006 2:09 pm

Kaede was too funny!

Ororo grinned and placed his paw upon her head, wiggling it about and messing with her fur. "Oh really?" He chuckled softly with a purr emitting from his chest.

His ocher eyes continued to settle upon her, curiously watching her as she rose up for a few moments and nestled back down alongside him. As the small jackal positioned her head beside the head of the adolescent lion, Ororo wrapped his tail about her and flicked it from side to side.

Watching the sun slowly descend from the sky and creep behind the mountains didn't bother him. Besides, it was better for him to return late to the Unity Walkers in order to avoid the conflict and questioning and head straight to his mate without any onlookers. Besides, he had time to kill and there was no need to rush back home to Kiva where he could simply waltz behind the waterfall and surprise her with another late night visit.

Musing softly as he peered into the green eyes of the "lioness" Lisani grinned.

"There's still time to play," he commented with a willy grin. "How about we see who can pin who?" Oh, he'd go easy and let her win. There was nothing like messing around with a young pup and trying to boost up their strength! And wouldn't that be a tale to tell! The young jackal who pinned a lion!

"Wanna play?"

Kaede looked up at Ororo and smiled and pushed herself up and courched down, her hind quarters in the air swaying back and forth, "Yes, a lil' play before Ororo must go home yes?" she pounced forward playfully and made a low growling noise. This would be fun. Perhaps if she maneuvered herself just right she could catch him off guard!

She pawed at the ground and smiled, all she'd have to do is jump and pounce at teh same time, at the opportune moment and she might pin him!

"Ready?" she asked as she giggled.

This would be the perfect way to end the perfect day. She could test how strong she got over the past days, see if she was stronger and good enough to possibly pin Ger next time she saw him too.

Her eyes were fixatedon him, she'd watch his every move. She pretended that she was out on teh savanah, tracking prey, closer and closer she was getting. One final pounce and she could eat for days! Yes, so close...just watching Ororo she smiled,s eemed to be lost in her own little world for a moment. One move and she'd pounce!

His eyes gleamed with curiosity and mischief, body becoming tense as he slunk upwarsd upon all fours and grinned playfully at the small "lioness". Slinking low and sliding forth on his forepaws, Ororo clenched his paws into the top soil and rumbled low in his throat.

"Ready!" He mused with a small laugh.

He stepped towards the side as his tail behind him swayed and swatted. He never could resist a fun playtime and the last time he was able to roughhouse was with Kiamba but, unfortunately, he always was the one getting battered senselessly. But this time would be less violent and less a test for brawns and strength.

Ororo slinked to the side, circling and drifting in a sly manner. Oh, he was somewhat tricky but, still, he couldn't resist!

"Come on!" He playfully remarked with a grin. "I'm waiting!"

Kaede crouched low and with Ororo's words telling her to bring it on she couldn't resist. She shifted her paws and watched him circle her, oh how he was being sneaky! But she would catch him, that she would.

"Think you can handle it Ororo?" she asked, moving her paws in a fashion so they crossed over one another though she reminaed in the same spot. The bottom of her paws were getting coated by a thin layer of earth, which made it easier for her to balance upon the ground below her paws.

She made a circle then turned around and pushed her hind legs against the groun and leapt into the air at him smiling, hoping that she would land on him and pin him. If she did she would be strong and victorius!
