((Alright, everyone, this will be where nearly all of the Role Playing takes place. Anything in the dorms, or any specific offices...that will all be here. Please remember that you have to post where you are in this part.

I am going to create a specific thread for the Trial Grounds, The Council Room, and the Training Arena. Please use those for their intended purpose and only their intended purpose. Thanks folks!))

~Outside Temple~

*A small aircraft landed in a public hangar near the Jedi Temple. Dragon got out and placed the note he had prepared earlier on the dash.*

note
Please return to Coruscant Public Hangar #34, Ship # 376. Thank you.

*He wandered around until he found a small stand with a man hawking some junk parts.*

"Excuse me, where do I go to find the Jedi Temple?"

"Eh? Another new jedi huh? Got to go east about a quarter of a mile, and you'll find it."

*With a polite thanks, Dragon wandered east until he saw the temple. he entered, and went up to the first person he saw.*

"Excuse me, could you inform me of where to arrange a meeting with the Coucil? I was sent here from Coruscant, and I believe that the Council here was sent a message informing them of my arrival."

((Coming to IC, picking up where it has left off. Here we go!!))

Hetzon's Offices

Hetzon nods gravely at Mirage. Some of the images stirred memories he had long since buried. The staff and the pendant were especially acute, as they had been simple reminders of the lack of assistance that came when his race fell. The people of Dackktan had been indifferent to the demise of their brothers and sisters of the Fallen Realm, though it had not been called so at that point.

On a whim, he turns to regard Mirage oddly.

Mirage...would you like to train at our Temple? Forsake the Inner Planets and become one of the Fallen Realm? It would mean that you would once again be a padawan for a time, but surely we could train you in ways you were never trained on Coruscant. I have a padawan myself already, but it is possible that I could put him off on someone else and train you myself, if you would so wish.

Hetzon looked at Mirage with a respect, a desire to teach, to learn, and a...familiarity...that confused even him, but hold that look he did, waiting for her reply.

Main Courtyard

The Knight frowns down as the young man walks up to him and addresses him with no regard for rank or formality. With a grunt, he stoops down to looks the young man in the eyes.

I am called Forchik, boy, Knight of the Jedi Order. It would do you well to learn some manners before you find yourself before the Council in interview.

I will send to Masters Hetzon and Miaka that there is a new applicant awaiting audience. You will wait until they are prepared to see you. Until then...why don't you go get something to eat?

Forchik nods to a group of older padawans who run off toward the main building of the Temple. Forchik leads Dragon down another path toward the kitchens.

So...what is your name, apprentice? And where are you from?

Hetzon's Offices

A sharp rap on the door of the offices interrupts Mirage's reply. Hetzon frowns and then beckons them to enter. The padawans from the courtyard bow their way in, relaying the message to Hetzon. Hetzon reaches out to the rest of the Council.

Jedi - we have an audience to do. Let us assemble quickly.

~On way to Kitchens~

"I am sorry, Master Jedi Knight Forchik. The only interaction I have ever had with Jedi since my mother murdered my father was only once I was tested. As for my name, I know not what my name is. I was too young when I fled from my crazed mother on my father's wishes. My parents were both Jedi, but my mother fell to the Dark Side, and I believe, murdered my father. I come from Coruscant, but was originally born somewhere else, although I do not know where. Master Jedi Knight Forchik, are we there yet? Excuse me, but I have never really eaten a true meal. I had always had to scavenge through tavern dumpsters and the like."

((Hey, you wouldn't happen to read Robert Jordan books would you? It's just you talked about nobody being safe from the turning of the wheel earlier.))
PostPosted: Mon Jul 26, 2004 9:19 pm

((Why, I do, I do in fact read Robert Jordan. If you look closely at my teachings, you will find them eerily similar to his writings. Eerily similar.))

Kitchens

Forchik looks down at the young boy with an expression that could almost be called tender, if a stone could be called tender. His eyes twinkle just slightly as he leads the boy into the kitchens.

Well, my boy, we shall have to remedy your lack of name. As for our arrival, we are at the kitchens now. I will order us some food.

Forchik walks up to the counter and places an order for two plates of fried potatoes and two bowls of thick beef stew with slices of fresh bread to eat it with. He then sits back down after getting two glasses full of water, one for each of them. He sets a glass down in front of the boy and eyes him.

How did you come to be tested, if you are nameless and without family?

((Yes, I had some suspicions, such as your methods of entering the void, the void itself, and some other things. It kind of seems you are teaching them to use the force like they're weaving saidin.))

"I was scavenging in Coruscant's underworld for food in a dumpster when I found a rat. I followed it in an attempt to catch it and found myself waylaid by a filthy bounty hunter who believed I was covering for someone he was after. He attempted to kill me, and I was saved by a Jedi Knight. He sensed the force in me, and took me to be tested. As for my name, I am just known as Dragon which I like. it helps to remind me of the evils of the Dark Side. Thank you for the food also, Master Jedi Knght Forchik."

*Dragon began gobbling up the potatoes, and when finished he moved onto the stew. He ate it all almost before Forchik had begun on his, and munched thoughtfully on the bread, even though he was still starving.*
PostPosted: Mon Jul 26, 2004 9:39 pm

((More like a man weaving saidar, I think. He must enter the void to use it, and he must realize his own inability to grasp it without the help of nature around him, but it needs to be surrendered to, not controlled, the Force. That is the way I see it, anyway.))

Kitchens

Forchik looks down at the ravenously eating young man. When the plate is empty, a hand signal refills it immediately, allowing the boy to continue eating.

A pleasure, to be sure, Dragon. You are welcome at the Temple as long as you wish to stay, even should the Council refuse to allow you to become a padawan. The kitchens are always open to guests of the Temple...you may eat your fill here as often as you like.

Perhaps now, I can answer some questions for you. Have you any?

((Ya, I guess that would be more right. I should probably reread those books.))

*The boy looked shocked at the reappearance of food, but he shrugged it off and tucked in hungrily.*

"Actually, yes I do. What exactly is the force, and the differences in the Dark and Light Sides of it? What makes someone fall to the dark side? Is there any hope of redemption? And, how do you learn to use the force? What must I do, if I do become a Padawan?"

*When he realized that his plate was now empty, as well as his bowl, he mimicked the signal Forchik had done and found that his plate was once again full. Gleefully, he began to eat.*

((Indeed you should. You should also post a location every time in this thread))

Kitchens

Forchik's voice takes on a lecturing tone.

The Force does not have sides, persay. that is simply a term we give to them for our minds cannot truly comprehend what it is. The Force suffuses all living things. It is within us, about us, and part of us. The Force is us, in essence. As such, it is not divided neatly into light and dark, but is instead a mixture of those two, threads of each divided into tenths of threads divided into tenths of threads, each woven so intricately that it is all but impossible to tell them apart. It is not the part of the Force that we use...it is how we use it that gives us our classification. Does it make sense?

((Oh ya, sorry. I'm a little preoccupied reading up on my other guilds.))

~Kitchens~

*Dragon continued to eat, constantly refilling his plate until he was satisfied.*

"Ya, I guess. So the force is everything, and everything is the force. And the sides are based on our actions using the force. Is this the type of thing I would learn if i became a Padawan?"

Kitchens

Forchik nods gravely as he dips his bread into his stew. He is still on his first plate of the thick, meaty sauce, good though it is.

You will learn this and many other things before you are ready to take the trials. It will be hard, hard enough to break your spirit, hard enough to destroy everything you are, yet if you survive, when you survive, you will be more than you ever thought possible.

~Kitchens~

"I remember my father saying something like that. I am sorry, Master Jedi Knight Forchik, for taking so much of your time. I would think you would have other more important things to do than discuss these things with me. Could you give me directions to the Council Chambers? I would imagine they would be just about ready for me now, wouldn't you?"

((Can we do the meeting with the council now? I should be going pretty soon. It's 1:10 am here.))
PostPosted: Mon Jul 26, 2004 10:18 pm

((I'll try. Go to the Council Room thread))

Kitchens

Just as Dragon was speaking, a group of Knights came up to him, bringing summons from the Council Chambers, It would seem that the members already assembled had sent an entourage without the approval of the Temple Master, though there would be no way for Forchik or Dragon to know that. Forchik motions for Dragon to follow them, and they lead the boy on a labyrinthine journey to the great metal doors entering the Council Chamber. A figure in night black robes sweeps past them into the Council Chamber, and very shortly, after some seeming consternation inside, the doors open and Dragon is allowed in.

Hetzon's Offices

Hetzon cocks his head as he receives a message from the Council room. His face turns to a scowl as he quickly, but ceremoniously, bows to Mirage and leaves his offices, obviously in a hurry. Few get in his way, and those that do are run over.
