At Hetzon's request, members of the Council of Dackktan begin to trickle into the Council Room to take their seats around the great circular space. It is an intimidating area, stark in its beauty, yet grand in its bareness. Few who enter can fail to feel overwhelmed and insignificant by the sheer presence of the Force in the room. It seems that the entirety of the Force of the planet is focused in the center of this room, the very spot where padawans stand as they are first being questioned for apprenticeship, where they stand as they are being approved for the trials, where they stand when they first receive their Knight's robes, where they stand again for the trials for the rank of Master, and where they stand one final time to receive the rank knots of Master Jedi. It is where each Council Member is sworn in, and where the Temple Master takes his own set of oaths. The space is holy, in every sense of the word.

Without waiting for the arrival of Master Miaka or Master Hetzon, the present Council members decide, led by Xanta, to bring in the boy for questioning. They send off an entourage of Knights to fetch him.
Just as it is feeling as though the Knights should be arriving back, Hetzon himself sweeps in the door, his eyes flashing, and glaring around him. He had left his room in a huff, not being able to finish his conversation with Mirage because of the hastiness of his comrades. He let his disgust be known, and few eyes in the room are not downcast by the time he settles himself into his chair and motions for the door to open, admittin the padawan.
Hetzon waits for the padawan to stand in the trial center of the room.

*Dragon followed the knights all the way up to the Council Chamber. He approached the guards and asked whether he was allowed in yet. Just then the doors swung open. He approached slowly, and when he saw them, dropped down into a low bow.*
"Hello Masters of this Temple. Before we begin, I wish to start by thanking you for allowing me the oppurtunity to becoma a Padawan here."
*He said this loudly and clearly, with sincere respect, heeding Jedi Knight Forchik's advice about etiquette and manners.*

Hetzon looks around the room with bemusement at the shocked faces of the Council.
So...it seems we have another who does not know to hold his tongue until spoken to. Perhaps we shall have to cut the tongue out of every would be apprentice who enters this hall?
Disturbing murmurs of agreement ripple through the assembly.
Tell me, if you are so free with your tongue, what is your name, boy?

*Dragon quickened his pace and moved to the centre of the room.*
"I am sorry for any offense. I have only ever spoken with three Jedi before, and I know not my name. I am usually called Dragon though."

Miaka enters shortly after Hetzon and frowns slightly. The irritation in the Temple Master's voice bothers her slightly. She wonders what is the matter but says nothing. She decides she will speak with him later.
Moving towards her seat, Miaka smiles warmly to her fellow Council Members and studies the young man standing in the center of the room. His politeness is admirable and certainly did not warrant the harsh reaction of the Temple Master.

Dragon...that is an interesting name. Did you name yourself?
Tell me...why have you come here to become a Jedi? What makes you believe you are worthy?

*Dragon saw only the feet of the newcomer, as he had lowered his eyes and was keeping them trained in front of his own feet.*
"I have always been called Dragon. I believe it was because when I lived on the streets, I had to protect myself whenever I got stuck in a corner, and I think I did something. I didn't know what it was then, but I believe now it might have been the force. I hurled a man twenty feet into a wall when he falsely accused me of stealing and was going to kill me, as well as some other orphans, 'for fun' I recall he said. I was only told to come here, and so I did. I wish only to become a Jedi so that I might do as my father did to me, protect the weak, the innocent, and the helpless from others. In particular, the Sith. They corrupted my mother, who in turn murdered my father for defending me. That is why I have no name. I forgot it over my years of hiding."

Miaka listens to the young man, her expression one of sympathy.
I am very sorry to hear about your family, Dragon. I hope that you will come to think of your fellow Jedi as family. We are all here for eachother. Family, we are indeed.

Hetzon twists his head around to look at Miaka, and the instant sense of peace that he always feels when in her presence washes over him. He realizes that perhaps he has been a bit hard on the padawan during this trial. When he turns back to face Dragon, his eyes are a lighter blue, and there is a warm twinkle in them.
Welcome to Dackktan, boy. You may study as a padawan here, and become part of our family. We welcome you with open arms, and caution you only to beware of the emotions of vengeance and hatred, for they lead ultimately to darkness.

Miaka listens to the Temple Master welcome the new Padawan and Miaka smiles warmly. Dragon takes his leave from the Council and she nods her head.
Welcome to the Temple.
After he leaves, Miaka turns to her colleagues and bows, excusing herself as well.
Masters, I take my leave. You know where to find me should you need my assistance.
Miaka leaves the room, her hooded dress flowing about her as she turns the corner.

Hetzon watches Miaka go, and then rises himself, smoothing his robes.
I, too, must take leave of the Council at this time. I have pressing matters to take care of in my offices. Pleasant day, Masters.
Hetzon glides majestically out of the room, heading steadily in the direction of his offices.
