((The only members who are welcome here are Council Members and Padawans seeking trial into the rank of Knight, or Knights seeking raising to the rank of Master. The only time this area will be used will be when such a trial is approved by the Council in the Council Room thread. Thanks folks!))

Within seconds, they are out of the Temple Master's Office and stand amid a large field bordered by lush forest. All is quiet save the soft chirping of crickets and the rustling of leaves in the gentle wind. The Jedi Master breathes deeply and allows herself a moment to take in the serenity of the area.

A moment later, Miaka turns to face Hetzon and the Padawan being challenged.

Padawan Saijon, are you ready to go through the Trials?

Hetzon waits until the thrill of using the transporter passes - it is always amazing to feel one's body disintegrating into molecular particles and reintegrating again in some other place. He hears Miaka intone the next question of the ceremony, and realizes it is his place to say the next thing.

Realize that you may refuse the trials thrice before we turn you out of the Temple with enough credits to survive for a year. It is no dishonor, nor will it reflect upon your rank should your refuse once or even twice.

Once you begin, however, you may not stop. If, at any time throughout the trials, you believe yourself incapable of continuing, you will be put out of the Temple just as if you had refused for the third time. Choose carefully - this decision is an important one.

(( Doesn't it feel nice to play your self Hetzon, not Forchik razz ))

Saijon bows to each of the counsel members, then he became very confuzed. His master said this as well. Now was his time to ask about it.

Master Hetzon, are you saying if i say i cant take anymore. If i give up, the trials are over....but i am kicked out of the temple. Why is that?

If i refuse the trials thrice. I get kicked out of the temple with credits enought for one year? why is that also?

One more question, Master Hetzon

Can a padawan be killed in the Trials?

Hetzon looks on serenely, listening to Saijon's concerns.

It is important for a Jedi to know his own abilities, and to be able to discern when he is ready to move forward with a plan or a project. This is why you will be turned out if you fail anytime once you have begun the trials.

It is also important for a Jedi to understand that sometimes risk is necessary, and to be willing to take the risk no matter the cost. This is why you would be turned out after refusing thrice.

As for your last question...it has happened. The reason two Masters are present is to prevent such occurances, along with the tradition, but sometimes padawans do die within the testing. Be at ease...you are as safe as can be with us.

Now...are you prepared to face the trials?

After hearing this from Master Hetzon, Saijon sat down hard on the grass beneath him.

I want to start the trials. I want to become a Jedi Knight. But, I dont know if i can make it threw the trials

Saijon put his hand right hand on his forehead, his left in his lap. His head was tilled downward. Like he knew that this was going to be a hard and long test

Then Saijon tilled his head up then stood up puting his hands from his head to his sides. He back straight, like he was standing infront of a drill sargent. Then he began to speak.

I've been afraid to ever challenge my self, to my own personal limits. Now the chance is on my doorstep, and i feel like turning it down, like i allways do. But not this day, this day i shall not be afraid to challenge my self, i wont be afraid to what is ahead of me. I am ready to start the trails, Masters

Hetzon listens carefully, allowing Saijon plenty of time to make his decision. When at last the decision is made, Hetzon turns to face Saijon. His eyes are no longer the clear blue that they had been - rather, they are a solid, almost glowing red. When he speaks, his voice is more hollow, as though a part of him is temporarily shut down.

Your decision is final. There is no turning back without the consequences explained to you before.

I deem you, Saijon, ready for the trials to become a Knight. The first trial is of agility and strength. Be prepared, be steadfast, be strong - there are many paths through, just as there are many paths that walk in the Light, but to hold your course and your aim on one is difficult. Let us begin.

Hetzon looks to Miaka with an unspoken request to blend her Force use with his. Using the combined power, Hetzon channels the Force into the fifteen boulders on the trial ground clearing floor. A wind springs up, rustling the trees surrounding the clearing, and the stones begin to whirl faster and faster, growing more and more erratic as they increase in velocity. When Hetzon again speaks, the boulders seem to have grown in number to a great multitude, and their pattern is anything but a pattern.

This test requires you to run through these boulders and back again without being touched by any of them and without damaging any of them. There are many paths - be steadfast, hold your course and your aim, and do not fear. Prepare yourself...Go!

((You're right, Saijon, but I'm not sure what to do with you right now...you already accepted the trials, but I'll be damned if I'm going to leave my main character unplayable for however long you're gone.

Take your time...we'll figure it out. Currently, I'm going to post for you. This isn't puppet-mastering - it's invoking the rights of the host.))

Saijon looked fearfully at the whirling boulders, shying away from them until he realized that he was allowing fear to take ahold of him. He straightened his back and, with a deep breath, plunged into them.

For a time, he was successful, dodging boulders, spinning around them and under them, leaping over some of them only to find himself having to dive under the next. To any outside observer, he would appear to be a blur, for he was using Force Speed, and very strongly at that, but to him, the boulders appeared to be moving almost slowly.

That is, until he missed one coming at him from the right. Fortunately, it only clipped his right elbow, but at the velocity the boulders were travelling, that clip was enough to shatter the bone. The pain shooting through Saijon's body was enough to make his grip on the Force falter, and he lost his Force Speed. At once, the boulders were indiscernible blurs flying around him. The icy fingers of fear gripped his stomach, but had little time to take root for suddenly a rather large, rather sharp boulder crashed into his side, shattering his ribcage and puncturing his lung. He screamed wordlessly, or it would have been a scream had it not come out more of a bloody gurgle.

From within his pain shrouded mind, he could hear Hetzon and Miaka shouting from outside the circle. The boulder carrying him slows to the point where he falls off it. The jolt of hitting the ground sends pain such as he has never known shooting through his body, and the world turns to black.

((This post is just to clean up what happened so there isn't a hole in the thread. Ignore the date I actually posted this))

Hetzon looks at Miaka, alarmed beyond belief. Running over to Saijon, he scoops up the boy and concentrates on the Force, feeling it flow through his body and into the younger man. He watches as the wounds the boy sustain close more than a little, but not completely. Such extensive damage would take more than one to heal, but to save Saijon, time could not have been taken to link.

That should not have happened...these trial devices are designed not to injure the padawans in question.

Miaka just shakes her head, face white with what could only be the horror at seeing a new padawan, and a strongly prospective Knight so close to death essentially by her and Hetzon's hands.

Realizing she is in no position to operate the teleportation device and that he himself does not know how, Hetzon uses a technique forbidden by the inner planets and the Outer Rim. As the Force flows through his body and back out in connection with all that is around him, he twists it as it leaves his body, bending it around him in an odd way. A doorway splits the night, revealing the dimly lit Medical Wing. Gesturing Miaka to precede him, Hetzon steps through the gateway and lets go of the twisting of the Force.

Summon Forchik. He will be in my office.

The Knight on duty bows and heads off to do just that. With a nod to Miaka, he reaches out to the Force through her, grasping it strongly and drawing it. He is always amazed at how strong she is - for such a slight and beautiful woman, she can drawa amazing amounts of the Force. Once he is firmly in control of the Force through her, he opens himself to the Force and feels suffused with the life that is all his own. So much flows through him that he can nearly see himself glowing with the life. He gently unleashes the massive power and allows it to flow over and through Saijon, watching as his wounds close completely. He can feel torn flesh knotting back together, bruises disappearing, and damage being righted again.

When it is done, he releases the Force, first his own, and then through Miaka. Sagging visibly, he nods to Miaka to head to bed, for he has work to do.

Forchik walks through the door just as Miaka leaves.
