With all the inflation, whether normal or artificial, do new members have any hope of ever getting expensive items like Headphones, Bear Hats, or the exclusive Halo? As you all know, a lot of people who have those joined earlier when those items were much cheaper. If I somehow made 200,000 gold a day, I'd only make 73 million in a year. How does anyone who joined in the year 2005 stand a chance of having cool, rare items? gonk

I know, I just sold my NM headband so I would have enough to buy my friend a pair of horns. 80k I tell you.
And I'm looking at Winged Anklet prices. 100k?! I don't even want to sell them for that much! It's not fair to other users!

Well the said truth maybe that some newer users will have to accept the fact that some items will be out of their reach. Akin to real life, not all of us can own a Maserati -- some haven't even seen one before with their own eyes.
I don't want to call it unfair, it's likely that these users could've heard about Gaia in the '03 days and chose not to join at that time. Or perhaps, they didn't. Either way those early '03 donation items are a reward for joining Gaia when things were more unstable then they were now. It makes sense that they're the most sought after and valuable. Hence the reward for earlier members is less of a "quest-time."
So basically, unless there's another Kalec joining up it's unlikely that the average '05 member can ever own one without months of questing.

Very little hope, but there is hope... as it is, the average 04 member cant get those things unless they are extremely good at exchanging or drawing or breedables... now the 05 member to get those stuff will have to be exceptionally good lolz. Also, dont forget the admins are putting those super old items back into the economy by giving them out randomly during conventions.

Actually, I think there is hope. There is plenty of hope really. Eventually items will get so high, we can't value them, and as more items are added to that list of so high, they become almost equal. Basicly eventually, the kiki kitty and halo will be equal so those of us who keep donation items will be rich like Alexi. Basicly our hope is in time. If you stay on Gaia, you get rewarded.

Eventually items will get so high, we can't value them, and as more items are added to that list of so high, they become almost equal. Basicly eventually, the kiki kitty and halo will be equal so those of us who keep donation items will be rich like Alexi. Basicly our hope is in time. If you stay on Gaia, you get rewarded. Correction: The value of the Halo will always surpass the Kiki. However it is reasonable to surmise that the value of a Kiki may eventually reach the "current" value of the Halo (in a couple years time).

There are somewhat common items around the edge, and the person recieves what the wheel's pointer stops on. HOWEVER, there are 4 special spots that allow you to spin for the rare items given that the pointer lands on one. The rare items are Dark Capes, KiKis, Minis, Halos, and items such as that. Someone won a Candy Striper Mask! eek THE RAREST ITEM ON GAIA! The fishers are really mad about it because they have to fish for Candy Stripers because 10 of them aren't believed to even exist! I am glad that some of the rarest items are being re-released though. It gives me more hope. I'm sorry if I talked about the wheel too much. sweatdrop

Agreed. Perhaps I'll consider going to conventions as well. I would love to be a winner of something of that caliber. I'd instantly head to the Exchange with that little bonus. biggrin

If you look closely, there are special colored spaces included with the common items. If someone lands on one of the special ones, they can spin for the rare items from the inner ring. Will this form of re-releasing very old donation items stop the prices from becoming too high and un-reachable for new members?

Damn! I really wanted to go to A-Con, and now that I hear about this, I'm really upset I couldn't go.
How did they choose you to spin the wheel? Was it just random? And what Con was that taken at?

I should go to Otakon. I just don't want to be classifid as a "NERD". Although going would enable me to meet my friend on the interest who've i been talking to for 8 years right now. He's going to be one of the sercuity personal there.
