In this wetland, verdant and green in various shades, filled with birds and fish in brilliant colors... the areas as far as one can see are covered in various thick, man-high or lower sized grasses, interspersed with rushes, reeds, cat tails, and other herbaceous plants with low-growing woody plants.
The area is permanently inundated with shallow water so that your shoes are permanently wet and muddy as you travel, some areas deep enough to be streams that are almost rivers, lakes or ponds.
In some areas, the waters of the Marsh are fresh, in others brackish and in those bordering the areas nearest the seas... saline.
In some areas, the Marshlands are forested heavily enough to become swamps, mazes of greenery complicated enough to easily trap the unwary.
Step in the wrong place and you will easily be sucked into a deep ooze or mire, hidden under greens... and if you have really bad luck, you may drown in it.
Often at night, there are will of the wisps that lead travelers astray. You can hear their giggles as they wander to and fro, flittering around trees and bushes.
The areas are full of poisonous snakes and frogs and insects and there are... creatures.. lurking within the shadows of the trees, or under the surface of the soft greenery, waiting to suck you in.
This area is traversed or populated by riverboats and in some of the more stable hummocks of dryer land, shanties of sticks of wood stand on stilts above the watery mass.
The people in this area generaly have irridescent scales that they are proud of and eat VERY. ODD. FOOD.
Anything is considered edible, be they bugs, or fish, or birds or reptiles.
BEWARE OF THEIR SPELLCASTERS.
VOODOO DOLLS ARE NOT A JOKE HERE.
Neither are Zombies. @_@
