Super Mario Bros. 3 -- The Video Game

Excel Saga (anime) -- Ridiculously funny.

Rurouni Kenshin (manga) -- it has comedy, story and swordplay, what else can you ask for? And also, if you know what to look for, it gives you a good overview of the Meiji Restoration in Japan.

The Wheel of Time series (novels) -- great reading, has action, adventure, comedy, angst, almost anything you want is in there somewhere. Plus some of the best bad guys of all time (including Tel Janin ninja )

Super Mario Bros. 3 -- The Video Game

1-3 DOES include 3.

Additionaly, Wheel of Time was not added, as it isn't really a series without an ending. WoT will never end. No book in a series's events should be completely undone by the end of the book.

Yeah, Jordan says he dislikes stories that neatly tie everything up at the end. When does everything come together for everyone in real life?

As long as it doesn't end like Evangelion *shudder*

Heh, what he dislikes is not seeing a big fat paycheck for all the books he's written.

Well right now he's set to end it after two more novels and 2 more prequels in the Wheel of Time universe, then he says he'll be done with it.

Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics. Deep, well-written storylines. One of them won a Sci-fi writing award (and, of course, the award committee changed the rules the very next day so that graphic novels were inelegible.)

"Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratched.

"Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman, also a BBC production. Whenever Gaiman has a story with an angel in it... fear.
