Beyond the Maze
As the 20th century draws to a close, something strange is happening at the Haven Theatre. It's a nice little place, sitting on the outskirts of New York City; and even if the area around it isn't so nice, the Haven Theatre is, well, a haven.
It seems as of late this applies to both the living and the dead (or thought dead, at least.
You see, the "odd thing" is that messages have been left, simply signed "OS", and generally adressed to either the manager or Seth Coscia, the male star of the current production- Phantom of the Opera. As well as this, secret conversations have been overheard when there's nothing that could hear it except shadows.
It could be coincidence. And besides, there's no such thing as magic. Everyone says that. Of course, they're wrong...
Explanation
Beyond the Maze is basically the story of Erik, Christine, and Raoul at the Palais Garnier- except changed around to fit modern times a bit better.
Every major & semi-major character in the original PotO gets a corresponding character here- in other words a character that has the same basic role as them. You are, of course, allowed to change it- it'd be boring to have PotO all over again, with different character names!
Major characters are the three which the story centers around- Erik, Christine, and Raoul (Lorrine, Seth, and Phoebe in our story.)
Semi-major characters are those who help the main characters or otherwise move the story along, like Nadir, Meg, Carlotta, and Andre&Firmin- Renay, Felipe, Alton, and Mr. Balducci.
As well as this, this is minorly fantasy- Lorrine has protection in the shadows, inspired by the Shadow Spirits. Others can have magic as well. It must be MINOR, though. And Lorrine is probably the only one that knows- the character with magic may have had suspicions, but probably doesn't know for sure. I'll make an exception for Renay.

All the genders are switched around- ie Christine's corresponding is male, Raoul's corresponding is female, etc. The only except is Mr, Balducci, the manager. Also- those with italicized names are not needed as much.

Lashawn Kaeding, bandie (bells or snare drum)
More will be made up as we go along. These guys are NPCs, anyone can use them.
