Rose walked into her new room. It was nice, quiet. A retreat. There was an internet connection, and a bookcase that covered one wall completely. A window in her room looked out on a beautiful courtyard. There was also a balcony that led out to the courtyard. She sighed, and took down her hair. She leapt onto the bed, sighing in pleasure as it was so soft! I could live here! she thought. But she still had the rest of the mansion to explore. She could always come back to her room later. With a sigh, she left.

After exploring the library, Rose returned to her room with a book on scary stories. She placed it on her nightstand, and got ready for bed. She lay down in bed, read a few, and then went to sleep.

The next morning, Rose woke, and dressed herself in a t-shirt and jeans. She went to walk around the mansion some more.

Rose returned to her rooms. She sighed, because she had ran into only one person. It seems as if after the holidays everything is over. They didn't even have a Christmas party! she thought with a frown. Shaking her head, she turned on the computer and started to surf the web.

Rose got up from her table and glanced around. The mansion was empty. She was glad they let her stay on, but she wanted to party. Maybe they could have a masquerade or something. She knew that'd be fun. She quietly left in search of the owner.

Rose quietly unlocked her door and slipped in. She closed the door behind her and surveyed the dusty room with hands on her hips. Another sigh escaped her lips and her posture suddenly slackened, and she sat on the bed. She had gone to find the owner, failed with that, and had gone to visit her sister for a month and some weeks. She stood and walked over to the window and flung the draperies aside and unlached the window. She stood there for a moment, looking out at the untrimmed lawn and the overgrown hedges. Rose shook her head and returend to her bed, where she lay down and closed her eyes.

A cold gust of wind comming through the open window woke Rose. Her eyes flew open, and she shivered. She pulled a blanket tighter around her and sat up, rubbing the last of sleep from her eyes. In a moment, she was up, across the room, and closing the window. That accomplished, she looked longingly back at her bed, but instead crossed to her desk. There she picked up a piece of paper, which was actually a deed to a plot of land. She stood for a moment, the blanket wrapped around her, remembering when her sister had told her she could open her own Inn. Rosie knew she was going to call in the Ivy Creek Inn. And so, she packed up most of her things, and left the mansion. She knew she'd be back, she just didn't know when.
