NEWS3/26- I came across an interview that stated they have as many as 50 comics planned out, with possibly more. If that's one per month, thats more than four years.
Information on the Comics:The Long Way Home Part 1 Publication date: March 7th 2007 Since the destruction of the Hellmouth, the Slayers--newly legion--have gotten organized and are kicking some serious undead butt. But not everything's fun and firearms, as an old enemy reappears and Dawn experiences some serious growing pains . . . The Long Way Home Part 2 Publication date: April 4th 2007 The destruction of Buffy's hometown, plus covert and powerful slayer "cells" around the world, add up to a new label for the Scoobies: Terrorist threat. Speaking of Sunnydale, the crater formerly known as, has opened to reveal the witch Amy, and boy is she pissed. Now: Giles, smoochies, a knife to the heart, and a big sleep. The Long Way Home Part 3 Publication Date: May 2nd 2007 With Buffy incapacitated, Amy the witch has taken the opportunity to-get this-lay siege with an army of the undead. Willow takes her on in a witches' battle royal as hundreds of Slayers defend their Scottish citadel, but without the kiss of true love, Buffy will be out of commission indefinitely-with an unwelcome familiar face, and an image you won't soon forget. The Long Way Home Part 4 Publication Date: June 6th 2007 Buffy’s back in action, thanks to a kiss of true love, but Willow’s another story entirely — their capture of Amy the witch opened up a magical trap door, and now the Wiccan is in the belly of the beast. To make matters worse, she’s at the mercy of someone truly bent on revenge, and he’s been waiting for this for a long time. The conclusion to Season Eight’s first arc. The Chain Publication Date: August 1st 2007 Buffy's new position as leader and figurehead of the world's five hundred most powerful women has made her a bigger target than ever before. "The Chain" tells the story of one of the decoy "Buffy" Slayers, a tale personally important to series creator Joss Whedon. Guest artist Paul Lee (Conan, Tales of the Vampires) pencils the first standalone issue of Season Eight. No Future For You Part 1 Publication Date: September 8th 2007 The second arc of our bestselling Season Eight starts here. Top creator Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man; Pride of Baghdad; Lost) takes over writing duties and dives headlong into what Faith is up to-infiltration, assassination, and nonstop Cleveland. The fugitive Slayer is given the assignment that could change her life . . . if Giles's specialized training doesn't make her want to end it first. Artist Georges Jeanty (The American Way) remains at the top of his game-and Joss Whedon stays on as Executive Producer-in this first part of "No Future for You."

They weren't planning on Tara staying dead from the start, she was supposed to come back three epiodes from the end, but Amber Benson was busy. Also I read a statement from Marti Noxon that when Tara got shot it wasn't supposed to be a permanent goodbye. Now that comics don't need actors timetables to work, I have my fingers crossed.
And I was POed... perhaps cliffhanger was a bad term but th ending was...so anticlimactic with just the zoom in, smile.

Are you sure? I found this quote.."Tara will not be back, but [actor] Amber Benson will [assuming she's available]," says Whedon. "Everybody works on my show way more after they die."

Er now i found this....IT sort of condradicts though:SBenson was originally going to return[2] to the show in the Season 7 episode "Conversations with Dead People", where Tara would appear as one of the many forms of The First Evil, and attempt to coerce Willow into committing suicide. However, Benson decided that she didn't want to return, believing that appearing as a form of the season's villain would ruin Tara's image and needlessly upset Tara's fans.
While speaking at the Wizard World Chicago Convention in August 2004, Joss Whedon claimed that he had planned to bring the character of Tara back from the dead at the end of Season 7. According to Whedon, the episode would have centered around Buffy being granted one "life-altering" wish. Buffy would have struggled the whole episode trying to decide what she wanted to do with the wish (including, possibly, restoring Angel's humanity). The episode would have ended with Buffy telling Willow that she'd just gotten a great new pair of shoes, and when Willow asked her if she used up her wish on new shoes, Buffy would have said, "No, silly!" and stepped aside to reveal Tara. This plan was abandoned when Amber Benson was unavailable for filming.

I think that first quote came previous to the first, and was applying to the First appearing as Tara but since that never happened I think he worked inthe Tara coming back for real? I'm not sure I don't know the way his head works. I just want Tara back in the comic T-T.

I LOVE the artwork. I can't wait to see the issues. There's a couple comic book stores that I know of. Don't know if any of 'em will sell them, but I'm gonna pray that one of them at least does!

Since it's being published by Dark Horse, I'm gonna take a stab and say you can probably get it off their site. *drools over the art* I hope it's out next year.
