Arttemis Entreri was dead. By his own admssion, Artemis Entreri had died in Memnon chasing ghosts. And now Artemis Entreri was dead. The b*****d child of a penniless begger, the boy that had been abused by his uncle, the child who had been sold and betrayed by his mother, the man that had dared to try and love again was dead. There was nothing left but the assassin. Nothing left but a jeweled dagger and a cursed sword. Artemis Entreri was dead. There as only the assassin. Only the assassin that rode through the gates of Calimport on the nitemare. Perhaps a new uncrowned king of assassins woudl rise again in the city, prhaps one already had, but ti was no longer Artemis Entreri and it woudl never be again, for that man was buried deep in the sands of Memnon.
The Assassin alked through the familair streets, hood over his head and clock held tight about him. Eyes scanning for he made his way through the streets, seaking out a specific tavern to spend the night...and perhaps a little longer. --------
"Return in a week or so my friend," Tamlin said examinign the broken flute on teh counter before him.
"So you can fix it?" he patron asked, an eager looking sun elf with the most outrageous hat the bard had ever seen. Well, perhaps not the most outrageous, but it definatly was up there. And the eyepatch, and well, everythign about thi elf was odd by Tamlin's eyes, but then again, the elfin bard was often considered eccentitic himself, so who was he to juge?
"Yes, but it will take some time, especially if you wish the dweamor on the item to remain intact."
"I have no shortage of payment I assure you."
Tamlin waved his hand carelesslly, "Of course, but I still sya come back in a week, soethign like this cannot be rushed. Just be glad you came to this shop. Silverymoon is the best resource to make repairs such as this."

"I hate him." Naenre laughed, and though they spoke in the tongue of the drow, they still tried to remain as silent as possible. "Come now, Nalfein... he..." "He is vile, disgusting, and horrid." Nalfein replied, his arms crossed over his chest. The two drow, twins in fact, were standing within the room of an inn. Silverymoon was their current place of rest, and on the other side of the room... a dwarf snored loudly. Naenre shrugged, "Athrogate is someone whom Jarlaxle wishes to remain with us, at least he was. There is no disuading him otherwise." "If we had but remained with Kimmuriel, Naenre..." her twin remarked. "Do not lay blame of this on me, brother. I told Jarlaxle I would follow him..." Nalfien's eyes narrowed, "You wanted to follow the assassin, Naenre. I know you. And now he is no longer with us." "Because he struck out on his own, the fool." Naenre replied, turning from her twin and moving to sit down. "We will leave when Jarlaxle wishes it, and no sooner... much to my own chagrin."
~~~
The city was beautiful, though the light glinting off of the many buildings nearly blinded the drow. He put a hand over his eyes, looking about and wondering if he should stop for something to eat before heading to Lady Alustriel's palace. The Lady was expecting him within the tenday, and Drizzt had not wanted to disappoint. Walking through the strees of Silverymoon, Drizzt Do'Urden found that even here, a place he had come many times, the people still looked at him strangely. He was a drow, a dweller of the Underdark, in a city of those who lived on the surface world. An oddity, someone to be feared and shied away from, even though Drizzt meant no harm to any. The looks of the people of the city made the drow wonder however... was it wise to stop to get something to eat, or should he continue on?
"So it will take a week to fix?" Jarlaxle asked, looking at the bard, this elf Tamlin with disspaointment. He woudl have asked Kimmuriel, but such bardic enchantmnts and subtle manipulations of the heart were beyond the psiconist. And of course, Jaralxle doubted the grim drow had ever played any type of musical instruement in his life.
"And you came so highly recomended," he said mournfuly.
Tamlin smiled and shook his head in amusement. "By all measn, feel free to check back tomorow. I gave you a high estimate, because in truth, I am not sure exactly how long. Repari for any instruemtn is a dleictae process and I would make sure this one is done right, especialyl if it means so much to you."
"My I check in on your progress?"
"By all means, feel free to," Tamlin said with a disarmign smile Jarlaxle was sure had put many a foe off guard and stolen a fair amount of ladies hearts.
"My thanks, then bard Tamlin," Jarlaxle gave a sweeping bow of his hat and walked out of the shop, heels clickign loudly. Tamlin watched him go, with an amused and thoughtful look on his face.
Drizzt turned a corner, seeing an expensive looking inn across the street. The place looked as if he would find no trouble there, and the drow knew it would be a fine place to get food. Walking over, his cloak trailing behind him, Drizzt calmly opened the door... only to be greated with a few stares. He sat down across the room, allowing himself to watch most of the inn, just in case someone wished to cause trouble with him. Drizzt ordered a rather plain meal and sat back, relaxing in the calm atmosphere of the room.
Jarlaxle saw Drizzt enter in very inn he himself was residing in and grinned wildly. Well, well, well, now wasn't this intresting. Checking to be sure the mask that disguised him as a surface elf was still in place, Jarlaxle walked into teh inn. He did not appear to glance around, or take in teh patrons of the inn but instead heaed right up to the stairs. Like everythign where the darkelf was concerned, appearances were decieving. He saw the renegade drow and marked him well. -----
After carefully wrappign up teh two pieces of the broken flute and tucking them into a inner pocket on his coat, Tam Lin closed up his shop for the night. He had ment to leave earlier, but this Jarlaxle character had delayed him. He was dinnig with lady Alustrial tonight, at her request.
"Mister Tam, Mister Tam!"
The elf looked over to an open window where a litel human boy was wavign wildly at him.
The elf laughed. "Well hello there Tommery, shouldnt' you be abed at this hour?"
"I had to tell you something!"
Tamlin laughed and walked over to the litetl house, leaning against the window sill.
"So tell me, my litle story-teller? What great tale have you for me this evening?"
The littel boy's face srinkled into a great smile. "The Drizzit and his big cat are back in Silverymoon. I heard that the lady..Alus...Alues...the lady is a good friend of his!"
Tam's eyes sparkled in amusement at the boy's mispronunciation of Alustrial's and Drizzt's name. The bard knew about teh drow hero of Icewinddale. He was a bard after all, and a friend aof Lady Alustrial to boot. He knew of this purple-eyes elf, even if he had never met him personally.
He tossled the boy's hair with a smile. "Well, that is a delightful peice of news, Little Brother. Now be off with you, yourmother will nto liek you to be up all night."
Tommery grinned and dashed off from the window.
Drizzt took no notice of the Sun Elf, who was really Jarlaxle in disguise. He was too busy with his own thoughts. So much had happened at Mithril Hall that he hardly knew where to begin when he spoke with Lady Alustriel later that evening. In fact, the drow was partially dreading the meeting, simply to have to drag up such ghosts of what had occured in that battle against Obould's forces. The drow sighed, a waitress bringing him his meal and water. She lingered for a moment, looking at him curiously. Drizzt paid for the meal and allowed himself the opportunity to enjoy something that was not cooked by Dwarves.
~~~
Naenre sighed, pacing the room. "You seem bored." her twin remarked. The woman threw him a glare, "No... I just adore walking back and forth. Of course I am bored."

"Bored? When theis fair city has so many delights to sample?" Jarlaxle asked dramatically, suantering into the room with typical granduer. "My dear Neanre, how you wound me." -------
"I assure you, the vinatge stock here is quite good, or do you usually prefer the non-alcholic beverages?" Tamlin asked with a disarming smile, comming over to Drizzt's table.
It hadn't been hard to track down where a dark elf had gone in the city. Dark elves themselves were rare, Drizzt was nearly a celebrity, what with the tales of Icewind Dale and his friendship with the Lady Alustiral. Tamlin was quite keen on meeting this Drizzt Do'Urden at last. They woudl both be meeting with Alustril later this evening, so why not get to know him before then?

Naenre turned, smiling to Jarlaxle. "It is just the fact that we must remain indoors to keep suspicion away." she replied, frowning suddenly. "And there is naught to do in here but listen to that dwarf sleep off his spirits."
~~~
Drizzt was startled out of his thoughts, looking up to the Elf who stood before his table. "Well met." the drow spoke, nodding to the stranger. "And as to your question, I prefer to know that I am in control of my body." he smiled, "It's a warrior trait, I suppose." Drizzt swept out a hand, offering Tamlin a seat. "I am Drizzt, Do'Urden. And you are?"
"Do I have to remind you that it was your choice to come with me?" Jarlaxle said teasingly. "Fear don't, lovely one. After I finsih my buisness here in the city, we chall be on our way. And I think it's rather adorable at times."
The last of course, was reffering to the loudly snoring dwarf. -----------
"Tamlin," the elf said, graciously taking a seat across the table, "But I already knew your name, Drizzt Do'Urden. Yours and your panther's. We seem to share a common friend here in Silverymoon."
"The Lady Alustriel?" Drizzt asked, wondering how Guenhywvar was known when the panther was not even beside him.
~~~
Naenre sighed, "I so do detest dwarves..." she whispered, but her eyes showed that her hatred of the smaller race was not something which she would allow to get in the way. Jarlaxle was the boss, after all, even if Kummirel now ran Bregan D'athere. "Where will we go once the flute if repaired?" the woman asked.

Tamlin griined widly, "The same. I am actually meeting her tonight, as are you if I recall correctly, Drizzt Do'Urden." ---------
"We shall see," Jarlaxle said, a consdering look on his face. He slipped off the mask and placed it on the dresser table of the room. "I don't know if you are aware, but this inn is host to a very...unusual patrong at the moment."
There as an eager glint in his eye as he said the last sentance. Jarlaxle was plainly up to something.
