First off, I would like to tell you that if you flame me for being a communist, I will own you in a hate mail fight and post about it in my profile. So please, do so only if you want to get owned. Second, please read this whole thing. I worked hard on it, and thought it is long, the length was required. Now, this post is kind of long, so I will divide it into two parts: background and the basics. The background goes into detail as to why I changed my views to the point I can call myself a Quasi-Communist and also has a bit of back story about things in my life that also influenced the decision. The basics part describes my beliefs and what they would accomplish. Part I First off, Liberal Quasi-Communism seems like a self-defeating ideal, but in fact it isn't. I recently lost faith in the people of America to keep democracy as a plausible form of government in the United States. People take it for granted, and it really pisses me off. It seems like the present day makes EVERYONE a victim of something. "Oh, I didn't get that job! He didn't give it to me because I am a 5th generation Honduran!" "I didn't know coffee was hot! McDonald's didn't tell me!" "Well I didn't think that riding my bike in the dark with no added lighting was more dangerous!" All of those are real cases of people claiming to be victims. Then you have people who abuse things like welfare and all, bullshitting diseases and conditions, and people who take things like the ADA [Americans With Disabilities Act] way too far. People who say that Drug Addictions are disabilities and get $500 welfare checks every week so they can go get more drugs. One guy I saw interviewed said Guy:Well, obviously the government doesn't want me to work, man. You know? I have been tryin to get a job but the people don't want me to work, man. Host:Well, how many jobs have you applied for in the past.... month? Guy:One, man. That really pissed me off. And then there were the 'Infamous Four' as I have dubbed them. These four people had cushy jobs at a nice place in New York or New Jersey who claim they developed something like "Chemical Sensitivity Syndrome" due to where they worked. They also expected the whole place revolve around them as their "reasonable accommodations". The business first had an environmental inspector come in and inspect the whole building. The inspector found nothing our of the ordinary, but he said there might have been a problem with the air ducts. The company paid to have the air ducts cleaned or replaced or something like that. The employees still complained, and the environmentalist said it might have been the carbon paper that many businesses use to duplicate records, so the company started using a copier for EVERYTHING. The employees said that that meant all of the old records, a warehouse room of just carbon paper, needed to be copied too. The company did it and the employees still complained. Then they complained that the smell of the ink and toner from the copies made them sick, so they demanded that EVERY copied document be stored in a separate warehouse for 24 hours before being given to them. However, they still complained when the company complied. They were then given a special office with hard floors, a special $300 or $3000 vent just for them, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, air purifiers and so on, but they still complain of problems with their condition. They want a separate building all to themselves or they are threatening to sue the company for $8,000,000. Thing is, many doctors wonder if their condition even exists! Then you get the people who think these kinds of Americans are stupid, lazy shits who should gripe all of the time. One guy I saw was (I believe) a Jamaican immigrant. He said that when he came to the US, he applied for many jobs. There was one where he walked in and the hiring person saw him and said "You aren't the kind of person I am looking for." Period. The guy didn't sue anybody or complain, he just went out and applied for more jobs. Eventually he got a job that he was very happy with. Or, there was a blind man I saw who had a nice, good paying job. Every day he would commute to work by himself and get to his desk without any help. The company made him reasonable accommodations; he had a Braille keyboard and phone, etc. In the long run he became one of the company’s top employees. When asked about people who complain that they are discriminated against all the time, he said he thought it was ridiculous that they would say that when obviously they could get a job somewhere. Then there is me. Last August I had an illicit sexual relationship with my neighbor, another guy. When his parents got home, he told them I raped him, when all that happened was me blowing him and a bit of kissing. His parents, being good, practicing Catholics immediately believed him, disregarding the fact that he was a pathological liar, and filed a police report. He was one month younger than me, so they made it seem like I had raped a little kid, and he also has some sort of obscure mental disability. It's nothing you could possibly notice by just being around him and it is not something that affect his judgment, but they weren't going to tell the police that. I was labelled from then on. The kid and his family seemingly told everyone that they knew about 'Chris, the gay high school ***** who molests mentally challenged kids'. His parents know many business owners in the area, so I have no doubt many of them were told this and believed it. I have applied for 10 to 15 jobs in the area, and I don't doubt I have been denied at least 5 or so because of this. I haven't sued anybody. I haven't given up. I plan on applying for another job sometime tonight. It's all about trying again when you fail. If you go out into the world looking for opportunity you will find it. If you go out into the world looking for discrimination you will find it, too. Part II Just so you know, many of these things will seem a bit radical if you didn't read the first part. If you didn't, please go back and do so; it took a good bit of time to write it. The Liberal part concerns my views in the 'Democracy' of America. If you don't know what a liberal is, either Google it or Wiki it. If you know what Google'ing is, but not Wiki'ing, Google Wiki'ing. If you know what Wiki'ing is, but not Google'ing, Wiki Google'ing. If both are alien to you, and you aren't Amish, then go die in the Pit of Ignorance. (AKA the Chatterbox.) But I digress. By Quasi-Communist, I think that Communism would be required in the US for a period of time. To make a short story Extended (ED, remember) I will go into more detail. I think that because many of the people of America are taking advantage of their privileges, they need to be shown what they should be doing. For the government to perform its duty of ensuring the well-being of the peoples of the US, it needs to take drastic action. By some unknown quick means, or by the usual slow ones, we need to change to an essentially Communist country. We need to have one social class; go and find some way to evenly spread the money of the US to the people. Then we need to redefine the ADA and welfare eligibility and procedures. The ADA should cover only those with a disability that could severely harm their ability to work. The 'chemical sensitivity syndrome' mentioned above gave the people headaches. Well, I can do desk work with a headache. They also need to make it so you have to absolutely need welfare to get it. If someone absolutely can not get a job, and they try their best for x months and can provide proof (applications, etc.) that they have been trying but met no success, then the government could put them to work doing extra things that they need done. Instead of handing some guy a $500 check every so often so he can sit on his a** and do drugs, make him go out and do things like community service. Now, if some guy is a convicted murderer or something, you obviously wouldn't have him helping out at the Old Folks' Home. You could have him working on the side of the road, cleaning up or something. On the opposite side of the spectrum, if you have a guy who wasn't given jobs for no apparent reason but he tried hard nonetheless, give him/her a nicer job. If someone doesn't want to try to work, then so be it. Let them starve. After a few years of this, the government could go back to a Democracy. What would this achieve? Well, people would realise that they had it really well before the Communism period, and will then be motivated to actually work. Companies could go to paying more for their workers and so on (the money situation wouldn't change in the transition from Communism to Democracy, no matter what each person had before. Bill Gates would have as much money as John Doe who lived in a shanty) and eventually the social classes would redevelop, and the country would be all the better afterwards. Now, this would probably have to cycle every two or three hundred years back to Communism, unless the country as a whole is doing well. Now here is one spot where the Liberal part comes in. As the country switches to Communism or as it switches back to Democracy, pot should be legalised. This would help a lot with the drug problem in the US. I mean, how many illegal pot dealers would you find if people could buy pot legally? Definitely not enough to cause drug turf wars. Also, if the welfare system stayed the same, abuse of it would no longer be an issue.
Well, that’s it for this post. Assuming it could be instituted*, I was just wondering what Gaia thinks of the whole thing, why it would/wouldn't work, things that could be improved, and so on. (Also, please try to be intelligent. I plan on spending most of the rest of my night here, unless something else comes up.)
*The reason I say that is the fact that if I don't, 90% of the posts will say simply "That couldn't happen"

Your primary opposition will lie in convincing the ignorant masses that dominate your country that communism (and your proposed design as well) is *not* a fascist empire that shares it's views on individuality with the Borg Collective. You have to educate the people, forcibly if need be, and show them once and for all that communism is not what Red Scare propaganda claims it to be, and that it is by no means fascist. If you were to talk to a random person on the street, odds are they'd have images of Stalin and Hitler in their head - for this to even get off the ground, you need to make sure images of Marx and a better world come to mind instead. Ignorance is a mighty foe to overcome, but even your American government can't prevent SOME people from learning, however much they might try.
You also need to redesign your legal system extensively so that it operates on proper logic and not on wording and loopholes.

Malachi If you know what Google'ing is, but not Wiki'ing, Google Wiki'ing. If you know what Wiki'ing is, but not Google'ing, Wiki Google'ing. If both are alien to you, and you aren't Amish, then go die in the Pit of Ignorance. (AKA the Chatterbox.) But I digress. I'm quoting this in my signature when rotation time comes. Lucky me, I'm rotating quotes today. And Wendigo, be nice to Malachi. I can almost guarantee he's been here longer. Okay, on to the post. I would have to agree with Fluffzorz on the fact that most difficulty shall be had in convincing the populace the true meaning of communism. Unfortunately, I lost faith in communism too. I just say forget trying to educate them, and just instill a fascist empire. I remit my application for dictator immediately. You'll like things under me. Happier people will happen when I can bomb people who ******** with my citizens.
