Remember that battle system we where hearing so much about back almost 2 years ago? Back when they kept saying, just another month until its release? Well we finally see some results now in the form of a little glimpse of a battle scene.
Discuss...
Do you think the battle system looks fun? Good? Interesting?
What do you think about the about Gaia's even further transformation into a gaming site?
Should we have a battle system?
Will you play it when it releases?

i think when even the demo is released, if it does get released to the general public that gaia is going to explode. xp i don't think we should have a battle system, because now, the battle system plus a high server event is just going to kill it. gonk

I would have to say that I am against the battle system. Gaia used to be just a forum and role play site. Now we have all these games. The battle system seems that it is completly opposite of the origianal gaia concept. If I wanted to play a fighting game with chibis and lame graphics, I would play RO. As long as the battle system doesn't mess with the forum flow to much (as long as it doesn't take over gaia) they it shouldn't be to bad.
I imagine there are going to be tremendous problems with it though. I remember when they first made our avatars able to hold items/move their arms. We had to eat the "sushi" error for weeks. I say, we should stop progressing gaia and fix all the glitched items. They have a forum of people explaining the glitches, but they don't even pay attention to it. Why is the forum even there in the first place? To give the people complaining about thier glitchy items false hope so that they will shut up. We should fix and upgrade everything we have now, and that's it. Once absolutly everything is running smoothly, then perhaps we can add this battle system.

I cant believe they made the monsters look like RO monsters. Those little fluff clouds look like the poporo thingies.
But whatever. I dont see why we NEED a battle system. Its never going to be as good as the MMORPGs we have going on already. Im afraid that they are going to get too obsessed with making it better and better, that gaia and the forums wont be top priority.
sad Uhg yeah, if I wanted to play pixel battle system I would of brought RO by now confused I think if you have weapons equiped on you avi (Sword of Ageis for example) you can get a charge and more attack power, so that means me getting a sword will be non exsistant if it comes out, because they'll make them stupidly exspensive sad The halloween even was a bit poor, to be honest. Tom Cruse spin off and taking the piss out of Scientology, yeah, like we haven't done that since Cruse acted like an idiot. All I wanted was to get the Jack'd feet and skirt and that was it, but it took ages to trick or treat wich was ridiculous. Then there's their 'comics', I won't go into much, but it's poorly coloured in (you can see they did the BG and the characters seperate, because you can see the white around the black line) poorly drawn and just really bad jokes which either are just painly not funny, or have a in joke that went wrong. Bah, now I need a coffee.

It seems like they are so busy making up new storylines that they hardly finish any of the old (more interesting) ones.

I'm worried that a battle system will make the weapon like items more expensive, such as the pitchfork, if everyone wants one then... I dunno. It'd kinda suck for me. xD *Wants* Maybe other less battle worthy donatioon items would go down if the others could be used... but this is gaia, which probably means that the kiki kitty actually has a secret sword concealed inside it. (Didn't someones dog that no-one else could see do that? From X maybe? xD)

I think the battle system is a great idea. Possibly, not for the stability of the site. I'm sure that first day it goes up it'll automatically be sent crashing back down again. Which is probably why they're taking so long to make it.
Being someone who hasn't had the chance to play RO, i kinda like it. And i also like the cute little characters, i'm sure they'd make some ugly ones too. It's probably just another ploy to help Gaians get more gold or items. Either that, or to get more people to join the website.
I don't think it will severly affect the forums though. Quite possibly it could help them by filtering out all those people who thicken up the GD/ED/etc with stupidity.
As with the glitches....I guess there's only so much one can do while trying to promote their website? The comics are obviously there to keep the site up to date with the times. (Online comics are such a fad now.) Besides...They're kind've cute? They probably have a team who works on individual problems, like the glitches, the games teams, and the moderators.
Speaking of moderators, instead of glitches and games they should focus on what this website really needs,

I think it's great that we're getting a battle system. Gaia needs to spice up a little bit. Up until now, there hasn't been anyting too exciting. Althought, I've just recently joined, an di'm about a month old on here. It does looks exciting, yet, when I think about Gaia Towns, and recently how it's getting overloaded, I can only imagine how overloaded the battle system will be. I don't know if it's even going to work out. Example wise, like the "Quests" that just came out. It's just barely new, and it's disabled due to overload usage.
