As some of you may know, you have a chance to get a magical box. You have a certain chance to get one in your inventory, but they haven't changed the % four two years. This means that it is very hard to get a gift box these days, since there are more people on Gaia then this time two years ago. I have been the fortunate few to get three boxes in my short stay in Gaia, but nothing worth selling sad On the plus side, if you do get a box (especially if it's a gold trunk or a blue/pink box) you can sell them for a really high price, not to mention what lovely treasures await inside. Rule of thumb is that the item in the box is at least 35k, some people have got Angelic bed and Nitemare scarfs from there. So my question is this: -Would you like Gaia to increase the percent chance of getting a box? -Have you ever got one? a) What was inside? b) Did you sell it? c) How much did you sell it for? -Have you ever brought one off the market? I hate how it seems like those links are screwing with me. I see all these people getting multiple events from them, and I never do. Perhaps it's because I got so many back in the day. When I first got on Gaia, I got a rare event almost every 3-4 days. Then after a while, nothing. Then a pink link here and there and one more pink box in a span of about 4 months. Then nothing for almost a year and a half now. rolleyes
It would be funny if they changed the event % because the prices on the headbands would drop so fast. I would like to see the nitemare headband drop back down to 20k again.
All my pink boxes I have gotten (I think I have had about 12 maybe) I either sold them all, or opened them to find something inside that was generally worth just as much as the box it self. Never hit it big with them, and never really lost much with opening them. If I got one now, I would definitely open it, because I don't really need the gold, and it would be pretty nice to get a NM headband.

Draxxus, I have the same experience as you. To start off with I got quite a few in quick succession, but more recently I've had none.
When I get them, If I get anything that isn't pink, I sell it. I always open the pink ones. xD I wouldn't be able to forgive myself knowing it could be something good.
Also, I don't need the gold, but would like one of those items...xD
They do need to up it. This is just unfair.

sorry to tell you, but you can't get a nitemare scarf from one of the magical boxes. neutral the nitemare scarf was a donation item, and you can't get it again, unless you go through the quest system, (which is a rumor). but everytime i open a blue box or a pink box, i get a crap item, so now when i just get one i end up selling them.

I think i only ever had a rare event when i first joined back in 2003, but that was probably only once or twice and they weren't very good items.
I think they should seriously consider putting the percentage up. It seems as if the website is being updated so that newer or poor people have better advantages at getting more gold and better items, so if that's a key item they're trying to update on the site then they should consider raising the Rare Events percentage.
Also, the inflamation of Gaian items is getting a bit rediculous, so making items a little less rare wouldn't hurt things too much. :/

Nope. To be frank, gaia's pace is too fast for me.
This reminds me of neopets, where they updated every single freaking day. I mean, I guess it's a good thing that they're working hard to please everyone with new updates, but it's just too fast paced for the people who simply don't have the time to go on every day. Instead of updating every day, they should do it at the beginning of each week or something.

Apparently it randomly puts a box in there sometimes, or supposivly. The thread starter said that it's been OK'd by a moderator and everything, and claims that it works but nothing's happened so far.

The "!" icon doesn't work, so the box doesn't appear in your inventory unless "event=" is at the end of the URL.

I've only gotten a golden trunk once, but never knew I had it until I was looking through my stuff one day.
It's really rare to get one, and they do sell for alot, and alot of the times, the item in the box isn't too good.
I think it would be a nice idead for gaia to raise the % of getting a rare item, because there are alot of people on here now. And it would be a nice change.
