Why does it seem that the AT has gotten so stuck up? It used to be full of helpful people who would comment nicely, even on the not so great avatars. Now, however, that doesn't seem to be the case. It's not that now they are being too rude as much as they are hypocritical. People who have almost complete sets on are flaming users who may have 2 of the same set equipped. People with generic, already-been-done-a-million-times avatars are calling users out on their un-originality. Anyone who has a matching avatar that just has a bunch of random commons thinks they are they have most original avatars. I'll tell you what, color matching and randomness of items does not make a good avatar. I commented on a unnecessarily rude comment on a rate me thread and I was deemed as attacking that user. I was thinking, whoa this person is so stuck up/ defensive about a bunch of pixels, but then many other "top avatars" had there fun with "flaming" me. Poor AT. Where have all the good ATers gone? Not to mention that the AT is being overrun by tektek threads.

All the good ATers hang out in elitist gang threads. xD Or not. I like the Original Rate your avatar, because it isn't quite so uncivilised. I have a tendancy to respond badly to people being rude to others about their avatar. Apart from that I try to be polite and helpful. I can't stand all the crap tektek threads. It's just unpleasant.

i'm actually scared to go to the AT now. i went there once on my old name l u f f y and i was bitched at. that place, in some ways, seems worse than the gd.

People have really bad pre-conceived notions about the AT, so when they go in there, they are expecting us to be rude.
The fact is, that pretty much only about 5% of AT'ers are rude. You will find that most of the "prommies" as the GD would put it, are very polite and kind. I myself run a free contest for AT'ers that gives away 3 letters A MONTH and I also know many other AT'ers who run or help in charities.
I, however, admit there IS a tektek problem. It seems that way too many of our threads nowadays depend on tektek. What ever happened to working hard and actually earning your items so that you could OWN them, not just create a "sim" with them? I personally never rate tekteks or allow them into contests. I know that may seem mean to the newer members, but the most donation items doesn't always win, and IMO the people who worked hard for their items or who have been here deserve a little extra.

Yeah, AT has gotten a bit of a scary place now. Although, I have to agree with Master Draxxus, not all of the people there are rude.
Yet, it'd be wonderful if much more..helpful, and not rude people we're on there.

It just bothered me that the people there (that day, not sure about now) where so hypocritical and defensive. At one point the AT was the only sub-forum that I would frequent, back in the day when it was full of nicely coordinated avatars with helpful posts that made sense. I repeat it again, having a spew of random cheap items that happen to match does not make your avatar greater than someone else's. It doesn't even matter if your avatar looks good anymore if they deem it un-original.
