The Pendant
((Just so you know... This is going to be a Vampire RP.. Ha ha. It's my specialty, but it's not your average one, trust me, it'll be good.))
"Too many times, a person can build up everything, only to lose it all..."
This was the phrase Terah used to hear from her mother, Lori Lochland, all the time, and of course, she never believed it. But that was before she learned that it can happen to anyone, and the very same thing happened to her. Her family life used to be perfect, until her father, John Lochland, had decided to just leave her mother and herself, and take everything they ever had.
The bitter, angry, and hurt Terah decided to just turn from everyone and everything except for her mother, shut herself off, as she felt as though no one understood her. She felt rejected and alone, and at only age 15, she felt she'd lost all she had. After that, she was only left with the one valuable thing that her father hadn't taken, a strange pendant that was supposedly owned by her great grand mother Marylin. She somehow had always thought that pendant was strange, but then it had started making her see things and meet strange people, and she was beginning to get frightened.
Main Characters
Terah Lee Lochland: (Played by me, EnzieSora) The girl described above, trying to balance the strange things with the pendant and be a normal high school student.
Breigh Anne Brightenton: This is Terah's best friend within the school, once she moves in. But it takes time, Terah has to show her around the school by the order of the guidance counselor.(I just know I spelled that wrong...) She is somewhat slow, and has a tendancy to act hyper on occaision. But overall, she and Terah get along rather well later on, but Breigh is still oblivious to the vampirism going on around Terah. (Appearance: Dark brown hair and hazel eyes.)
Devon Blaine DeSira: (Played by TakeoKamiyo)The first person Terah meets on her strange adventure, Devon is a very different individual. At age 20 when she first meets him, he has only been a vampire since he was 16 years old. He specializes in potions and black magic, and has created a potion that allowed him to go back and forth between being human and vampire freely as he wished during night time, and also allowed him to walk during daylight hours without facing any harm from the sun. This potion is his to freely give to what ever of his victims he chooses, and it has the same effect on any vampire who takes it. But the only catch is, it only allows him to go into full vampire form after dark. (Appearance is: Shoulder length black hair and icy blue eyes in human form. In vampire form, his eye color changes to amber.)
Valcor: This is the overlord of the vampire race, who is very evil. (Bet you didn't see that one coming, eh?) He has a system that all vampires must follow. If someone is bitten before age 17, their sire must provide their blood and hunt for them until their 17th birthday, which is when they have to learn to hunt on their own. Then, at age 18, they must be taken to Valcor for evaluation at his castle, and if he deems them worthy to stay in the vampire family, they stay. If not, he has the offending vampire staked by his human servants. Valcor, though it isn't known by the others, has the ability to shape shift, change his appearance as he wishes, and he will begin to stalk Terah later on in the RP under the name of Colvar. (Appearance: In vampire form, he has long silvery hair and jade green eyes, but as Colvar, his hair changes from silvery to light brown and is much shorter. Also, he gains a more human appearance, as Colvar is supposedly human.)
Rules
Okay, I shouldn't even have to do this, so I won't. I won't list any rules here, you know them, this is a guild. But, just so you know, if you wish to play one of the main characters, post it here, then later edit that post once I've approved it. And also, we won't start until we have at least a few people joined and settled in.

Near sunset, a local park in the city, if you can call it that, sat a girl. She was at a picnic table with a notebook opened in front of her and busily writing with her ink pen. The notebook was a black and white composition notebook. Next to her sat a black backpack, where she usually carried her writing supplies, as she was an avid writer.
It was late in September, so the chill autumn air blew through the park, causing the girl, Terah as she was named, to pull her black leather trench coat closer around her in order to block it out. Had she been standing, it would have been apparent that she towered over most girls at her height, and was somewhat thin, but had a lean build. Her skin was a delicate pale tone, and her hair was as black as the feathers on a raven. The black hair was pulled up into a high ponytail which reached her mid-back. Had it been down, it would have reached her hips.

Devon leaned back against the lip of the building that ran around the top of the roof. His head just peeked over the top of the lip and the wind played with the edges of his shoulder length black hair, pushing a few strands in front of his icy blue eyes. With one slender hand he pushed the strands away and behind his ear. The rest of his body was built like his hand, tall and slender with long arms and legs.
The young vampire was dressed in street clothes, tennis shoes, blue jeans, a white tee shirt, and a heavy brown leather jacket. He also wore fingerless gloves that were favored by fighters. As he moved to make himself more comfortable the sound of glass clinking on glass filled the air. As night fell deeper a person watching Devon could see his eyes shift slowly from blue to amberthat seemed to almost glow in the darkness.
As the night started to fall the man started to move again, standing with a fluid grace and placed his hand on the lip of the building and dropped over onto the empty street. With a sigh of regret of what he was goin gto have to do the vampire headed towards the streets with more people to feed.

Terah sighed and closed the notebook. It had grown too dark for her to see well enough to write any longer. Adjusting the small-framed glasses on her face, she stood from her seat, putting the notebook into her backpack along with her ink pen as she began to make her way out of the park. She shouldered the bag and shoved her hands into her trench coat pockets with a yawn. She'd been sitting there for a long time. Her tall form could be seen walking now along the sidewalks back toward her home, a house she shared with her mother Lori.
A harsh autumn wind whipped past her, and she shuddered against the cold air, ducking her head down low as she reached her hands up to pull the collar of her trench coat up in an attempt at shielding her sensitive ears. She then quickly returned her hands to the warmth of her pockets, her boots making a light click on the pavement below her.

Devon smiled as he beckoned the yougn woman deeper into the alley. She was a pretty enough young woman with long brown hair and light green eyes. Devon caught the young woman up in an embrace and kissed her lightly on the lips. The young woman returned the kiss and gripped the vampire close completely unaware of what was about to happen. The black hared vampire turned his head to the side and started to nibble on hsi neck with his normal teeth. The young woman gave a shriek of joy that changed into a scream as Devon sunk his teeth in. The scream cut off suddenly and her eyes opened wide, head streching backwards and giving the vampire a better shot at her throat.
With the type of vampire that Devon was, exspecially with his potions to aid him, he didn't have to feed nearly as much as some vampires and he didn't have to take as much when he did. Because of that his victims suvived and he didn't pass on the vampiric problem unless he wished to. They never remembered him, just woke up a few hours later and felt a little light headed with some new scars.
Done with his deeding Devon lay the woman on the ground and whipped the little bit of blood on hsi lip and her thoat with a hankerchief. He stepped out into the street again, his thirst pressed back for at least a while.

The sound of a scream piercing the otherwise quiet night sent a shiver besides her ones from the cold down her spine. But still, being a curious person, she wandered on down the sidewalk and happened upon a man exitting an alleyway. Hoping he wouldn't hear her, she quieted her footsteps and peeked around the corner into the alley. That was when she saw the woman lying on the ground. Her eyes widening in shock, she quickly turned and ran to catch up with the man, ignoring her twinge of fear as she reached out and grasped his shoulder. "You.. What did you do to her?" She asked, a convicting tone laced within her voice as she stared him down.
As soon as her gaze met with his, she backed away, taking a deep breath when the sudden realization that she might actually be in trouble hit her fully for the first time. Great. I'm an idiot. She inwardly scolded herself, cursing her sometimes reckless nature.
((I'd like for you to keep in mind that for the sake of the plot... Devon and Terah keep in contact, and he doesn't immediately reveal his vampiric nature to her.))

Devon tunred quickly and stared into the eyes of the person who had stopped him from getting away cleanly from his crime. Having just fed Devon was at the height of his powers, powerful beyond any human, and it would be easy to reach over and snap the girl's neck. Just one more kill on his long list, too long for only being twenty years old. He could even feel his right hand clenching but caught himself before it snapped out to crush her throat.
"Don't see how it is much of your buisness but I found her that way." The lie came easily to the vampire's lips. "Probably some sort of drug junkie. I heard her scream and when I glanced inside she was laying on the ground. Now that I have sated your curiosity, goodbye."

"Oh, but you haven't. In the scenario you just described, you would have seen someone leave the alley or you would have seen someone else there, as there's not another way out..." She smirked as she bravely stepped up to him, folding her arms across her chest. "But I was here soon enough, and you were the only person I saw." A smug look formed on her features as she stood there looking at him with triumph.

"Why would there have to be someone else. A junkie doesn't need someone else to shoot up her drugs." This girl didn't know how close she was to dieing at Devon's hands and here she was pushing her luck in trying to outsmart him. She wasn't as smart as she thought she was.
"Now get away from here little girl before you get into something that you really don;t want to get into."

Terah just scoffed. "Please. I'm not a little girl." She retorted. "I'm not going anywhere until you give me an honest answer." She sternly told him, looking him right in the eyes and showing no fear. "You don't scare me. Besides, I know better. She looked way too healthy to be addicted to drugs, and if she'd passed out, she wouldn't have fallen down in such a perfect position." She unfolded her arms to shove her hands in her pockets, still leaning against the brick wall.

Devon shoved his right hand into the pocket of his heavy leather jacket and fingered the small vial that was slid into a small pocket swen into the lining. It was filled with his own mix of chemicals that formed his on type of knock out liquid. It wouldn't have any effect on unnatural creatures like vampires but against humans it was practically a sure fire knock out. The black hared vampire seriously thought about using it on this girl. She was annoying him and if he wanted to get rid of her quick it was the vial or his hand to finish this.
'If you want to follow me be my guest." Devon turned and started to walk down the street. If she really wanted to follow him he could just continue to wander until she got bored with it.

((That's so freaky, the post time was just like seven minutes ago for yours... So perfect. o_o Wow. Ha ha. By the way, you've captured Devon's personality perfectly, all except for the murderous nature. One thing I should mention: despite the potion it takes concentration for him to remain human at night, and thus he mustn't let his anger get to him, lest he lose control of his vampiric form.))
"Well," she took a few steps along the sidewalk toward him, seeming to think, "I suppose I'll follow you at least until I get home.. But would you at least tell me your name? I hate it when I don't know what to call someone by..." Yes, Terah was a brave one indeed, even though it sometimes got her into trouble. She merely meandured alongside him, silvery eyes only glancing to him every once in a while from behind the small-framed glasses.
Her face still held quite the thoughtful expression, wondering what it was that had posessed her to approach the strange man, and in such a manner at that. Something about it troubled her, and for a moment, she moved her hands from her pockets to pull the pendant out from underneath her coat and hold it in the palm of her hand to stare at it for a few moments as she walked.

"Fine." Devon stopped at that moment thinking hard about what was happening. A name was power, exspeically as magic came into the picture, black magic even more so. Of course this girl probably knew nothing so it wouldn't hurt. "Devon."
The young vampire ran his tongue over the tips of his fangs brushing the last bit of blood from his teeth as he thought. The girl was strangely brave. Not many people were brave enough, or stupid enough, to come and talk to a man after night who had just walked from a dark alley where a young woman was unconcious.
"So where do you live anyway."

"I live a little ways down the street here." She replied with a shrug. Her boots made a slight clicking noise as she walked and her trench coat flared out behind her, letting the two small chains hanging from her left hip make a small jingling noise.
"So, Devon hmm?" She was debating on whether or not she should give him her name, but of course he hadn't asked for it, so she figured she'd just wait until then.
