Personally, i don't believe in horoscopes. They're pretty generic since you can find them in just about every newspaper or magazine. The only reason i would read one would be to see if the prediction had actually come true or not. Also, horoscopes describe a personality to each astrology sign, which also affects your prediction. Not all Virgo's aren't control freaks, m'kay?
As for Psycics, these can range from fakes like those you see on TV, or real ones who actually prediction something that happen. Like those people who claim to see visions in their sleep of natural disasters like the sinking of the Titanic or 9/11. Or those who use tarot cards or can see into the future with someone's touch. Most of it is pretty much all bullshit. There's a lot of people out there who just use it for money. And why not? It's an easy way of getting money until you get caught for fraud or being fake.
I've always been curious though. Never been to a psycic myself, but my Mother has and my Aunt. My mother went to a psycic that read her tea leaves, and the most she had said about me was that i worry too much. Which is true, but doesn't give much indepth as to if she could really be a psycic or not.
The one my Aunt went to is very scary. Just this Tuesday, my Grandmother passed away due to illness and a stroke. My Aunt told me that months before she had spoken to a psycic about this very event. What the psycic does is she gets you to bring in images of loved ones you want to know things about, and asks you to put their birth dates on the back of the images. With these images and some book she has, she's able to predict their future. This one was able to guess that the image my Aunt gave her was one of her parents, (My grandparents), and their names. She also told my Aunt in detail, the very thing that had happened to my Grandmother, and around what time it could happen.
The very fact that this had happened, and was true scares me to death.
Now, even though the woman was expensive, i'm very curious to meet her and to bring to her an image of my boyfriend. I'm worried about his health and our relationship, and i want to know what sort of results i would get. Problem is, what if i get the very result i'm worried about getting? What if she tells me he is going to die with the same fate my father had? (heartattack), and what if she predicts that our relationship is doomed to fall apart? And what if going to the woman with the mindset of "I'm going to fix everything she tells me" will only help to make the prediction come true? Also, due to the fact that what she said about my Grandmother was true, i don't really believe that she is a fake. I do believe that people make mistakes, so what if she makes an incorrect prediction? I'd be worred about it for my whole life.
Discuss: Do you believe? Have you ever had a horoscope match the events in your day/month? Is this psycic fake/ a hoax/ real? Would you want your loved one's futures predicted, or would you leave it alone? What would you do if you were told someone was to die in the future?
PS> I'm not looking for pity folks, i'm dealing with the past events on my own terms, and i wish that the matter is not spoken of. It is merely an example for the topic stated above, not a cry for attention.

I don't know whether to believe in all that. It really depends on who you are asking anyways. With some minor details about the future, I guess it might be believable, but for someone to completely tell your whole future, that's crazy.
Besides that fact, I would much rather have my future as a surprise. Like the end of a book. what's the point of reading the book if you already kow the ending? it's not longer fun anymore. So, that's my opinion on physics and whatnot

If a psychic says "Something HORRIBLE will happen to you" and the psychic is genuine, then you can't avoid it. If the psychic says "Wear a red scarf on monday or else something HORRIBLE will happen to you" then you'll end up wearing a red scarf and nothing horrible will happen to you, not because you wore a red scarf, but because nothing horrible was GOING to happen to you and the "psychic" was full of BS. A lot of people don't catch the post hoc fallacy, though, and end up thinking "WOAH THE PSYCHIC IS RIGHT!" I don't know of any genuine psychics, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that there could be some out there. Hell, at one point I was into "psionics." I'm actually unsure on that front because I definitely remember moving things without touching them, but I'm not sure if it was the wind or something. I definitely know it wasn't my imagination, though.

Do I believe in horoscopes? - No. Do I believe in psychics? - Yes. I have been known to exhibit precognitive abilities and certain mind reading abilities. I once guessed the answers on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire 5 times in a row right before the question even showed up. I have guessed the amount the groceries will cost to the dollar. I have picked the number on a spinning board. That is my favorite one. It was at a home renovation show. They had a booth set up where you spin this wheel with 50 numbers and 3 of the those numbers say "WIN!". That means you win a nice knife. My Dad spun the wheel. He asked me, "Do you think it will land on it?" I said, "No. It will land on 31." The lady at the booth heard me say that. My eye just caught a certain appeal to 31. The wheel kept spinning for another 10 spins. It landed on 31. The lady gave my Dad the knife biggrin

---------- From what I heard, Horoscopes and Astrologies are considered Pseudo (did I spell that right?) science--meaning, it's "fake" science. If the horoscopes are found to be correct or accurate, I'd say it was just lucky or but a coincidence.
Anywho, I read horoscopes but I do not believe in them. If it would say "the Virgo must go on a speed dating event to meet her true love", no matter how desperate I would be for a relationship, I still wouldn't.
Although, I did believe on horoscopes when I was younger...

Horoscopes are typically written in a way that is vague enough that you can almost always match the events from that day to the description in the horoscope itself. Also, ready something like "You will meet someone special today" ends up leading the reader to search for that person on that day, and thus is affecting that person's actions into making what may or may not have been truth into reality.
