Gharadi opened his eyes, blinking, letting the hazel orbs adjust to the light. It was later in the day, he peered around, perhaps they had napped longer then he thought. He turned his head to see his mother resting peacefully, he smiled, it was nice being out here with her.
He scooted away a bit and stood up and stretched out his legs, he felt well rested, though the empty spot in his stomach made him ache and yearn to have food within it. He flicked his tail, peering around the area, still by the watering hole, he went to the edge to get a drink, then turned back to wake his mother. Before he made it back his eyes settled on a couple things on the other side of the water...
Prey.
He quickly made it back to the sleeping form of his mother and he nudged her with his paws, "Come on mom," he said in a whisper, trying not to make noise, "Get up...some are here, come on mom time to get up!"

Sehani was having rather pleasant dream. She was the queen of a magnificent pride, with lots of members and even more cubs to keep it going strong. Her pride was perfect, nothing ever went wrong. There were no conflicts with other prides and she was a good leader, everyone seemed to adore her.
But suddenly a storm brewed in her dream. There were black clouds, not normal gray rain clouds. She grew confused. It was an omen, one of her pridemembers shouted. Death upon everyone!
"Come on mom."
"Aah, what?" she murmured, opening her eyes and blinking away the sleep from them. "What's the matter?" she asked him, fearing that something bad might have happened around them while they had been resting.
Some are here..
"Some what?" she asked, obviously not fully awake.

Gharadi tilted his head to the side as Sehani was still asleep. She was a deep sleeper evidently, he had never noticed before, when she started to stir he poked at her side again with his paw, "Come on mom some prey, there over there come on!" he whispered.
He moved to tug on her ear with his tetth gently, that was what she had done to him a few times, perhaps it would work on her. His tail flicked to the side and he stretched again, his orange-ish pelt stretching out, teh marks of that of his mother moving with his stretches.
Hie eyes traveled over to where the wildabeast were grazing and drinking water, a few of them, probably broke off from a herd. "Mom, come on they might get away...please get up?"

At the mere mention of prey, Sehani woke herself up completely and jumped to her paws, rearing and ready to go. They hadn't had much luck earlier on in the day with prey, but now their luck seemed to have turned around.
Narrowing her eyes, she turned to the direction of the watering hole. There she spotted a couple of wildebeest. She thought for a moment. They looked like a splintered group, broken away from the original herd. It might prove a bit more difficult when hunting them down. In a large group, it was easy for the prey to get confused and trampled amongst its own kind. But in a small group like this..
"Alright, Gharadi. Here's the start of your lesson," she whispered to him, crouching down low to the ground.
"You want to stay as low as possible, that way it's harder for the prey to spot you in the grasses. And move slowly, try not to make any sounds. You don't have a time limit on this. Just take your time." She began stalking forward. "As you get closer, pick which animal you are going to go after. It's good to have a target, so you don't get confused."
Flicking her tail, she continued forward.
"Which one do you think we should go after?"

Gharadi listened to his mother and as soon as she crouched down he did the same, mimicking her movements with his own. Alright, so stalking was the first step. He began to take a few slow steps forward, being mindful of the stones and twigs in the way that might alert the wildabeast, last thing he wanted to do was scare them away. He was hungry and it was driving him mad on the inside.
He peered towards them with hazel eyes, tail flicked to the side, he tried to figure out which one would be the best target. There seemed to be a few larger ones, then a smaller one, seemed adult, but smaller, a female perhaps? Would make sense with a bunch of adult males around her.
"That one, on the right...would that be good mom?" he asked making a motion to the more petite of them all. His mind was racing, he wanted to leap out and dig into it already, so hungry...He kept creeping forward, the faster he creeped, the faster they would get there and get something to eat.

Sehani watched as her son mimicked her every move. She smiled to herself, her tail flicking in slight amusement. She had never done this before--taught anyone how to hunt--and so it was all new experience for her and she was rather enjoying it.
Glancing back at their prey, she spotted the one that Gharadi had picked out. It was small, a female, and it seemed like a perfect target. It wasn't large and powerful, which would be hard to take down, but it also had plenty of meat to satisfy both of their bellies.
Nodding, she whispered to the lion crouched beside her. "That one is perfect, son."
She stalked forward some more, her eyes intent on the target her son had selected. But before they got too close, she stopped again and whispered more instructions to him.
"An effective way of hunting is to have someone circle around the prey and scare it in a direction, mostly towards another lion. Son, why don't you sneak around and scare that beast towards me? I'll bring it down no problem." Her eyes glimmered. Oh how she loved hunting!

Gharadi settled himself down, tail no longer flicking, paws and claws settling against the earth, this would be when they would charge right? Evidently not when his mother suggested he be the one to scare the wildabeast in her direction. He really wanted to be the one to take it down, perhaps with a bit more practice next time he could do it.
Though he was glad he picked an ample subject to take down, he watched as it grazed, seemed to move a bit off from the others, perfect. He said no words, made no sound as he creeped forward into the taller grass, secluded within its depths.
He was loving this so far.
He was a bit disappointed, that he couldn't be the one to pounce upon it, ah well, next time, yes surely next time. He circled around them all, steadied himself, was wary of where sticks and stones were and readied himself for the charge.
His heart was in his throat, beating so fast, it was like the sound of war drums, his hunger fueling his desire to chase and eat. He opened his mouth, bared his fangs, and sprung from his hiding place and let out a roar that he could've sworn came from another, not himself.
He leapt at the one he was to drive towards his mother, his claws almost grabbing its back leg. They went into a panic, the chosen beast driving towards his mother but he kept on its heels, to make sure it wouldn't change course at the last second.

Sehani watched as her son broke away from her and went to circle around their prey. She hoped that nothing would go wrong in this hunt. She knew the consequences of letting an inexperienced lion hunt. Sometimes they got caught up in the adrenaline of it all and made foolish mistakes. But then, she supposed, he was her son. Maybe he'd have more sense than others.
"Good, good," she whispered to herself, still watching her son move around. He was going very well so far. He kept himself hidden and didn't jump up suddenly at the prey because he wanted to sink his teeth into its neck. No, he waited until he was in the right position and then leapt up, scaring the wildebeest in her direction. She tensed up, ready to take down this sucker. They would be eating fresh meat in just a matter of moments.
As it came closer to her, she crouched low, ready for the pounce. Then, when the creature least expected it, she leaped from the grasses, claws extended and teeth bared. The prey animal attempted to make a sharp turn and escape, but it had too much momentum. She caught it straight in the throat, her claws clinging to its sides. Her powerful jaws clamped down hard on the delicate throat, suffocating the animal. Within a minute it was down and dead.
Still holding on to the neck of the beast, Hani stayed there for another minute, just to make sure the thing was actually dead. Afterwards, she opened her mouth and let the great neck fall. Flicking her tail and panting slightly, she looked at her son.
"I'm proud of you," she purred.

Gharadi waited and watched his mother take down teh beast. Wow. Perhaps he could do that someday, yes, he would be the one to catch them and make them fall. Would be very nice, he would like that.
Her smiled to himself and padded over to his mother, smiling proudly, head held high, chest puffed out, her words made him feel so much bigger and stronger. Yes, he had done a good job, and there the beast lay to prove it. "I'm glad mom...was so exciting!"
Pouncing forward he grinned, looking at the beast, stomach turning in knots, "I mean, when you jumped out the thing didn't know where to go! Was so awesome mom!" he got close enough to headbut his mother gently smiling and laughing to himself. Then he peered over to the beast, and took a few steps back.
Was only right she ate first.
Afterall, she took it down, he just scared it.
"You first mom!"

Sehani blinked at her son when he told her that she should eat first. She beamed. He was already becoming such a gentleman. She knew that one day, when he grew older, he would make one lioness very happy. But thinking about him leaving her to go off and start his own family made her sad, and so she shook her head and dismissed the thoughts for now.
"No, Gharadi, go ahead and eat first. You are a growing boy, after all." She smiled at him and purred, nudging his neck and then affectionately licking his face.
"You need to eat more than me, so go ahead and eat first. There's plenty anyways, and so I'll just grab some of the meat once you are finished." She flicked her tail, settling down on her belly and crossing her paws.

Gharadi blinked at his mother..but, but, she took it down! She was supposed to eat first! He folded his ears back, had he done something wrong? Then when she nudged him he smiled again, she just wanted him to eat some meat, he was growing that was true, yes, he'd eat first.
But he'd leave some good stuff for his mom most definitely.
His hazel eyes set on the fallen beast, stepped towards it, and started to rip at the outer flesh to get the more delicate and juicy meat within. Tasted so good. that he purred in his throat. And began to eat as much as he could. He ate a lot, least to his standards, felt so full, but there was more then enough left for his mother, and he left her some good meat around teh beast's middle.
He stepped back and sat next to his mother then nudged her with his shoulder, "Your turn mom..." he said with a smile, then lay his head on his paws. Yes, this was nice.

Sehani lay on her belly as her son tore into the meat of the beast she had just brought down for them. She smiled slightly, watching him eat for a little bit. But then she took her attention away from that and focused on cleaning herself. She was going to eat in a bit anyways, but she didn't have much else to do while she waited.
She licked her paws first, her smooth tongue rolling over them nicely. Afterwards she moved to her chest, where some of her fur was all in disarray from running after and taking down that wildebeest.
Glancing up for a moment, ears perked, she saw and heard that Gharadi had finished eating. He nudged her and told her that it was her turn. She nodded. It was only fair then.
Raising to her paws, she flicked her tail against her son then moved towards the carcass. She saw that he had already torn into a good part of the beast, but had left most of the juiciest and best parts for her. She smiled to herself. He really was a gentlman. Nosing the meat, she wasted no time after that getting to work. She tore into the inside of the animal, tearing away the juiciest parts and gulping them down.
After a while, when her belly was full, she licked the blood from her muzzle then turned to face Gharadi.
"What do you want to do now?" she asked him, moving to his side and plopping down on her belly next to him. She figured a nap would be nice, but she wanted to know what he wanted first.

As he watched his mother finish up eating he yawned. He felt tired now, with a full belly and a warm body perhaps a nap would be nice. He admitted to himself he was a bit tired, but his mother had to be tired too right?
"Perhaps a nap mom? I'm kinda tired," he rolled onto his side and stretched out his legs, then snuggled against her side a bit more. Moving clsoer, feeling her warm body there next to him made him smile, being out here like this with his mom was nice, these were the few moments he wished never ended.
Gharadi yawned again and closed his eyes a bit, eyelids feeling heavy, so tired, so very tired. He breathed deep and curled up enxt to Sehani. Yes, sleep would be good, tomorrow would be another day, and perhaps their travels would bring them to visit his sister, or venture to a new place together-
side by side.

Sehani smiled down at her son.
"A nap sounds wonderful, Gharadi," she said quietly, noticing that he was already getting into a comfortable position for a nap. Seeing this, she waited until he stopped moving around so much, and then she adjusted herself slightly so that she wouldn't make him uncomfortable and so that she wouldn't be in a weird position either.
Once she found a nice spot, she purred and licked the top of his head before laying her own down upon her crossed paws.
"Sleep well, my son."
