Often, when my uncle goes on vacation he has no set destination in mind. He might tell the family he is going to Florida, but end up spending his time in Atlanta instead. It is because he likes to take detours and follow where ever his instincts may guide him. Sometimes those detours prove to be more interesting than what he had talked about doing before he left.
On one of his vacations, he and my aunt became lost in a series of back roads and trails and their map gave them no hint as to where they were. After driving around for hours, their gas tank nearly empty, they finally found a paved road, and a gas station. The attendant told them that there was a small town up ahead where they could find a restaurant and lodging for the night. My uncle decided they would stop for something to eat, but intended to drive for a few more miles before finding a motel.
As they entered the town, My uncle suddenly recognized the place as where he had taken a couple of Spiritualist courses. He began driving around the town pointing out landmarks and places he had previously visited. And as he aproached the school he took the courses in he started laughing thinking about how much of a coincidence it was for them to come here as he had been thinking about taking a couple more courses and made a comment to his guides that "If you wanted me to come here, you should have just popped my tires.".....
As he started to drive past the building, the vehicle started to shake and then they heard the BANGS as each tire popped, one after the other.
The school was still open, so they entered the building to call for a tow and were informed that the mechanic wouldn't be able to attend to his vehicle until the following day. Ironicly, a couple of courses my uncle was interested in started the next morning and there was 2 spots remaining. So he and my aunt signed up for those courses, and walked to the hotel he had stayed in the previous time he had been in town.
When they had returned home, they told us the events that took place. My uncle told us that when he originally seen the info about the courses he wanted to go, but just couldn't be bothered at the time, then a few weeks before he started planning the trip, the course information came up again, but he simply tossed it aside thinking that he didn't want to make the trip alone, but never thought to ask if anyone else might have an interest. He called the entire experience "the most expensive lesson he ever had."

Yeah it is fun watching my uncle squirm when things like that happen. But sometimes I think his guides like to tease him too. They always do little things at start to just to see if he is paying attention to them, but if he doesn't clue in fast enough they go to more extreme measures lol

I'd say its likely enough to be true. Things work out in quaint ways, i like to think.
Well written story anyway.
I should post some of my stuff someday.
