You have no idea how angry I get when fangirls say this.
"I want to be a trannie boy so I can do a boy up the butt like in yaoi! Being a girl sucks, anyway!" Get a strap-on.
I find this degrading to me as a woman, and as a friend of many transgendered people. My ex is also transgendered. She finds girls that say this BS offensive.
Being transgendered isn't about wanting to have sex like you can in cartoons or comics. It's a lifelong problem, and a lifelong feeling of there being something wrong. It takes years of therapy before you can get surgery because they want to make sure that this is what you really want. Some never decide to get the surgery.
Yaoi isn't even real boy-on-boy action. It is heterosexuality, but with the character who would be the woman (the uke) having a male's body. I could write a 12 page essay on how much it degrades and stereotypes gay men and how it degrades and stereotypes women, as well as how North American fangirls' perceptions of it are really off.

Damn straight! Only... I do sort of wonder what you mean by "It is heterosexuality, but with the character who would be the woman (the uke) having a male's body."
I mean, I'm an XY, but the way you worded it made it sound like a woman's role in sex is to submit, to be underneath. I mean because that's what uke means--- the sub. Beneath. Ouch.
Now if by that you meant that those girls want to just have a man dominate them but be a boy then yes, it's utterly heterosexuality and a filthy twisted idea of what real male-male love is. Nasty buisness then.

Yaoi is mostly written/drawn by females so it makes sense, to me at least... @_@;;; And may I ask where you got this information?

A dominatrix female friend of mine (who actually DOES own a strap on and uses it accordingly,)... was shocked to discover yaoi was written by mostly/only women. It seems that lesbians will often be yaoi players or writers. And a few select very femme gay men...
I'd put yaoi down as being mostly orientated towards women. The guys have traits typically considered "girly;" they blush, act shy, and will succumb to more dominate/aggressive men. I might add, as a researcher of sex, very few yaoi stories/doujinshi take the steps necessary to prevent a painful experience, which can take several days to heal, and I would say 9 times out of 10 does NOT arouse the person on the recieving end.
I know gay men who are offended by the portrayel yaoi gives them.
Basically: yaoi is written by chicks, for chicks, who have no idea how buttsex really goes and try to turn the a** into a v****a, making a brand new stereotyped market to rival that of men who watch lesbian porn and buy "Girls Gone Wild" videos.

Koemiko Basically: yaoi is written by chicks, for chicks, who have no idea how buttsex really goes AMEN to that. It also doesn't mean that after someone penetrates back there means it's not going to be as difficult or will possibly hurt the other person the next time around. It's not like you broke someone's hymen. It's the a** for God's sake. And I don't get why fangirls are all, "yay its buttsecks!!" Damn, they have no idea how painful it seems. I don't know either.. and I don't want to know. I just know it looks painful. Plus, there's no lubrication back there.. just saying.. x_________X

Well. Another part is the idea that they don't wanna look at female genitalia. And I can get that. But they're completely forgetting the personalities BENEATH it all...
They fail to remember that a sexual preference is, merely, a sexual preference. Not a personality.

I start to question myself because of your lecture. Yeah, I did that. And I feel damn guilty about this act of self-degrading myself(and because I know many homosexuals) But I did this because I had a phase with some homosexual guy. I guess I can say that you've changed me. I should talk to my fangirl friends about this. they need to know this justs hurts others
