Some people are what i call "poser wiccan" wearing the pentical to be cool, as if they know is stands for air, fire, water, earth, and spirit. Some people don't even know what the religion is or hate wiccans for not being christians. I have got my stuff vandalised for being wiccan. "poser wiccans" are mostly goth wannabees.
I Personally feel wiccan posers affensive. any input?

I definately agree. A lot of people at my old high school (seeing as how I'm graduated) Thought that being wiccan meant you worshipped the devil, they never even gave me the time of day to explain it's pretty much the exact opposite. I think that the posers give the rest of us a bad name, and therefore cause us to live in secret..which makes it terribly hard to put together a group. Don't even get me started on the forcefulness of Christians...

Yeah im not Wiccan but i study religions and i talk to other people in that religon to learn and well i have talked to some ...lets say dumbass wicans lol it is kinda overrated and there are to much neo-wiccan s**t (if you ask me)

i lurve wiccans. hate posers of any kind, mostly because their biatches who are nasty no matter what. dont be to hard on christians, i am christian but not all Oh my gooosh convert. People liek THAT dont even know what christian is. AKA most of the christian churchs. "Main-stream" christianity are the ones who are Conformist, cant wear black because its sinnful, scarey posers, we take pitty on you because you dont wear blue jeans and belly shirts liek the rest of us. My yout hpastor tried to pass on me the whole GOthic is sinnful because its immodest, dress liek the rest of the girls in the church to fit in thing. And i looked round at them flirting w/ all the guys there in butt tight blue jeans and hellishly low cut shirts and i went *snicker* n just walked away. Posers suck majorly. ANd mainstream CHristians suck even more.

At my old school, In Centreville, MD, People were rednecky christians and hated anybody who wasn't. My friend and i kept our religion secret, and if some one asked us what our religion is, we would say christian. At my new school in Easton, MD, i have many friends that are wiccan, and we can be open about are religion.  I wear this everywhere. Wicca isn't satanic. it is an earth bound religion. The exact oppisite of satin. we do beleive in god. But not only god, a goddess.

Except for a few.

I used to be wiccan,people made fun of me and said that I went out with satan because I am was stupid enough to be open about it.

Yeah... I was Wiccan, but now consider myself eclectic pagan (long story), but it's true that people turn against Wiccans, Pagans, just about anyone who's not Christian because they "believe they're saving your soul" (A reason of which I am everyday more dubious). My best experience was in high school, when people were much more open.
Also, "poseur wiccans", I hear, at least at some point, had the nickname "Jewelry Witch"-- they wore what seemed "Witchy" to be "cool" or some such crap. You saw a great deal of the same sorta thing in the 90's with Goth-- speaking of which, because Goth is dark, and men often do not understand the dark (the knowledge is hidden, right?), Goth became associated with evil-- and thus "Satan"-- and, I'm sure, by Christian devices, Wicca.
Speaking of "dating the devil": I once dreamt I was screwing the devil... not that it MEANS anything, but it would be fun to utter in front of a fundie, sometime... and makes for VERY interesting conversation (nevermind that I don't BELIEVE in "the devil").

You know, I have to say it. It is somehow alright to wear crosses but when someone slaps on a pentagram it is bad.
Now, I'm not a fan of it, but damn. stare
I wear all sorts of different religious symbols. I love religious imagry, and I love what they stand for. (for the most part. when I wear a cross, it isn't really christian. I'm more for the original ones. Celtic, Ethiopian...etc) I'm not really any of them.
Ok ok, I suppose it is different for say.. Paganism or Wicca in general (or any of those) because of the bad rap, and the fact that everyone knows what they mean. (or they think they do.)
Either way, you should not claim a religion you do not beleive in, no. That is very very uncool. You should also not change your religion based on your mood that day, the person you are dating, or what is fashionable.
You should follow a religion (or not follow anything) based only on what you yourself personaly beleive.
Also, don't put down mostly christianity, and the branches of it, because you know what? I have had Wiccans try to convert me just as much as I have Mormons and fundies and blah blah blah.
Never a Hindu or Muslim or Buddhist. OR Satanist. (Both LeVey and woo I likes me the Devil it's sexy)
