Welcome to the Gaian Irish Guild! Ireland is a beautiful green isle known to inspire people of many cultures with its own unique history and culture. It has indeed had a hard and rich history, full of both fantastic historical tales and fables, and human struggles in an increasingly developing world. That brings us to present time. Eire is now a country well known to attract tourists, and is an ever-growing productive country in and of itself. The people are friendly, and the sights are awe inspiring. Irish culture is all around the world, and many people living outside of Ireland have a great deal of Irish in them. Some who do not even say that they would like to be Irish, for just about any reason. So, why not have an Irish guild on Gaia? One that is not a "pub" or a mere "hangout," nor some kind of role playing guild. How about a community? That is what we seek to build here. A Gaian community of people who are from Ireland, who have ancestors from Ireland, or who simply enjoy Ireland and its culture--even if you've never been to Ireland! This is the Gaian Irish Guild.

Hello, I'm Deirdre Flanagan. Yes, that is my real name. I am not going to disclose my age, because I'm afraid it doesn't really compliment me in terms of my maturity. I am from Kilkenny.
I'm a bit of a football fan, but not enough of one to follow the games with a pen and scoresheet in hand. I simply like to watch. However, in doing so, I can get incredibly competitive and just a bit defensive of whatever team I happen to be rooting for.
I like to travel, but never seem to have the money nor time to do so, but I have been to England, the United States, Canada, Scotland, France, Germany, Italy, and a host of other places, back when I still lived out of the pockets of my parents, for they too enjoyed traveling. Despite my desire to see different parts of the world, being away from Ireland is very hard, but it makes me love it just a little bit more each time.
I currently work as a nobody in an undisclosed shop in Thomastown.
I play a little guitar, and listen to mostly alternative and rock. I rarely listen to the radio nor watch television.
That's me! Now, who are you?

I'm Karen. 34...35 tomorrow woot! rofl I live in America, Columbus, OH. Born in Hawaii. I like American Football...and soccer. lol. Currently work as a waitress/cook in a little family run pizza shop. Wait tables and you'll learn all about people. rofl You wouldn't believe what people do in a resteraunt that they's never do at home. Ack. I'm a struggling author. Waiting tables pays the bills while I try to finish my novel. I also write guides for TES: Oblivion. Had one published by xbox magazine in their Official Strategy Guide earlier this year. WOOT!!! Nothing like seeing your name in print the first time. I was the only fan written guide they used and I got a ten page spread. mrgreen and yes...still running on that high. LOL
I listen to...well...just about everything, though Irish music seems to be a fave. Watch way too much tv...Doctor Who: classic and new, Torchwood, BSG, Stargate, CSI, Farscape....far too many to list.
I love B-Movies. I have watched more crappy movies than anyone else I know. rofl If it's b-movie material, I've probably seen it.
How's that? Sounds like an ad for geeks are us, but that's me. blaugh

Keeping with the spirit of the thing, I'm Tracy, aged 19, currently studying art history. I just got out of, coincidentally enough, my Medieval Art & Architecture exam where I wrote my essay question on ye olde Book Of Kells.
I know I'm clan Riley on my mother's side, but I'm afraid I don't know how far back it goes.
PS, WhoGuru, I adore your banner. Tank Girl rocks my socks!

Hello people, my name is Matt and I'm currently 19 I live in the USA, Florida specifically but I was born in Michigan I'm part Dutch, Scottish, and I've got some Irish heritage too. I know I'm part of the Scottish 'Mc Tavish' clan but as to where my Irish heritage leads, I'm not to sure. I use to play Hockey and I still love it, I'm currently between jobs and studying mechanical engineering at USF. I'll listen to just about anything celtic. Celtic weapons and artwork are some other things I'm interested in. Aspirations of visiting Ireland and Holland (I'm primarily Dutch). I might not be around the guilds much but you can leave me a pm or comment if you want to get in touch. I'm usually on IMVU, it's a pretty cool place, sign up and check it out if you like. Here's the link because I'm just that nice of a guy ^^ Sign up for IMVU, one kick arse 3D chat... something or another... yeah just sign up and try it out ^^

Hello all. First off, I'm The Pirate Lady. I'm most famous for playing Grace O'Malley at various renaissance festivals. I'm 21. I've got Irish back in there on the Brock side of the family, the name was altered here in America and I'm not sure off-hand what the original name was. Anyway. Tank Girl rocks. x_^() Also, born and raised in Florida but stuck in South Carolina due to me being broke. I work a shitty job and just got a speeding ticket so my going back to Florida has been pushed further back.
Hmm...I'm a gamer, geek, nerd, dork, and above all else an Amazon. I wrestle, kickbox, do martial arts, and am a professional bellydancer and sword dancer. There's me.

I'm Limelight, lime for short. I have Irish heritage on my mom's side, her maiden name is Dever, if that rings any bells. I currently am getting a minor in history, specializing in Ireland, but my major is Theatre, and my true love acting. I am in the Actor Training Program at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and hope to attend Trinity College for my masters.

Hey, I'm Brendan. I'm 18 year old and I'm from Dublin.
I'm a hugh anime/manga otaku (and yes I know what actually means, so I don't want anybody flaming me over it). I love pokemon and digimon. People seem to think that I know everything about pokemon, which may acutally be true, but I don't think so (Oh and I mean everything about the game, not the anime).
I am currently studing Computer Maintainence and Web Design in FAS.
Emmm, what else..... Oh I have this unique medical condition where I can drink more than the average Irish person before I get drunk, and I sober up quicker too (And if you don't believe me, you can PM me and I will explain it all in detail to you).
I think that all. Even though I'm probably forgetting something.

Oh and Deirdre Flanagan, you're from Kilkenny but I suppose I'll try to be nice. lol lol (Joe Deane..GET WELL SOON!!..rebel legend!!) Munster and Irish rugby team..I love both, you can't really talk about one without talking about the other. Strings, ROG, Paul O Connel, love team all. All legends..(except I don't like Isacc Boss, give me strength) The Irish football team..well eh they try. They can be really good, sometimes, well we've got an unatural keeper Shay Given, I love him lots!!

My name is Sean Maguire, and I'm 16 years old. I live on the East Coast of the United States. I'm at least 60% Irish (still working on genealogy). My dad's family is from the Cork area (from what I know) and my mom's family from Belfast.
I love football and rugby. I have a few Irish friends over here, and when we can get a game on the television, we all get into our colors (we root for the Irish, of course) and have a mini Super Bowl party. I also play American football, hockey, and I wrestle... but none of those hold a candle to football.
