Judy Moody Gets Famous
Judy Moody marched into third grade on plain old Thursday, in a plain old ordinary mood. That was before Judy got stung by the queen bee (aka: Jessica Finch).
Judy sat down at her desk, in front row next to Frank Pearl.
"Hey, did you see Jessica Finch?" asked Frank in a low voice.
"Yeah, so? I see her every day. She sits catty-cornered behind me."
"She's wearing a crown" Said Frank.
Judy Turned to look at Jessica, then whisperd to Frank, "Where'd she get that? Burger Barn?"
"I don't know," said Frank. "Ask her. She says it's bejewelled."
"Well, it looks be-dumb, if you ask me,"said Judy, though secretly she admired the sparkling ruby-like gems.
"hey, are those real rubies?" Judy asked Jessica.
"They're costume jewellery," Jessica said.
"Who you dressing up as? The queen of England?"
"No, Im the Queen Bee," Said Jessica.

"In your dreams," said Judy Moody. "If you're the Queen Bee, where are your bee minions?"
Jessica lifted her chin. "You'll see. You'll bow down to me too."
Judy started to say, "Not if I knock that off your head, you bi-" but the teacher walked in at that moment.

When after school came Judy waited for Jessica, but there was no sign of her.
"Judy",her mother said while coming up to her.
Judy thought it was Jessica and turned around but only frowning she noticed that it was her mother.
"mom! what are you doing here, you always wait in the car."
"Well ive been waiting 30 minutes now and i would love to go back home."
The next day at school Jesscia was not there.

Judy was grumpy all day. She thought she caught a glimpse of Jessica during gym class, and later during recess, but could not find her. "She's at home watching TV. Not fair!"
Judy waited outside under a tree for her mother. A loud *clink* startled her. Something had dropped from above!
Judy didn't know what a Krugerrand was, much less how to spell it, but she knew a shiny gold coin when she saw one.

That night at supper she asked her dad, "can a gold coin make you famous?"
Her dad looked at her, "where did you hear that from?"
Judy laughed, "no im just asking, so... does it?"
Judy's dad looked at judy and said, "well it depends"
"depends on what", asked judy.

Judy's dad demurred the question and got into a big argument with the mom. Judy, accustomed to this tactic, sulked. They never want to tell me anything!
In bed that night, Judy held the coin in the moonlight, admiring its shininess. A thought struck her. She tiptoed to the computer and logged on to an auction site. To her amazement, gold coins were $20,000.00. The photos of the coins looked exactly like the one she had.
I could be rich! she thought.
