The smallest princess of the Bahari'mtoto pride perched herself on a jagged rock overlooking her beloved ocean. The tiny green cub had draped herself in seaweed and shell ornaments as usual, delicate braids and stones and seashells clinking softly whenever she stirred. She would certainly be an odd sight to any wandering creature, but luckily very few strangers came by the pride lands lately, and those that did had been quite tolerant of Miani's eccentricities.
Bright blue eyes were riveted on the pulsing waters, as if expecting something to emerge from it. Nothing ever had, but that didn't mean nothing ever would...

Lewatle flosted just beneath the water, blowing small bubbles in the air. It was fun to let her dorsel fin split the water making her seem like a shark. It scared mortals away from the beach most of the time. A gentle smile pulled at her lips as she dived down into the depths and came back up again, jumping out of the water like a fish before diving back in. The feeling of just swimming about, minding her own buisness was wonderful. Her braid tucked around her chest as her shells clicked against eachother. The water was always so calm and quiet that she never really had to worry about others around. Lew had no thoughts about a pride that actually settled there.
In a brief moment of unthinking, she finally dragged herself onto the rocks. The large Goddess looked up only to be found face to face with a small green cub. Maybe the cub hadn't seen her yet. She was pressed tighty to the rocks but if she had then the blue lioness would have quite a lot to explain.
"Crap..."

Miani almost did a double-take. The small cub's eyes widened, her mouth slackening in surprise. For a long moment she just stared back at the creature from the sea, and then, having got a hold of herself, she bowed her head low. This could only be the Sea herself, come to speak with her! Miani trembled a bit, then risked another look at Lewatle.
"...Y-you.. excuse me," she stuttered, looking at her paws. "You startled me."
Her eyes shone with anticipation. What wisdom would this goddess impart to her?

Lew's shoulders heaved in a sigh as she blew a strand of wet hair from her face. She had seen her after all. Great. Just what I need right now. Her tail swished, whacking against the rock behind her. Maybe she could say it was a dream and escape back into the sea before the girl had a chance to react? The Goddess was just about to do so until the small voice grabbed her attention.
Even better...
She didn't like talking to mortals especially ones that were too young for her to play her games with. "Did I? I'm sorry."

Miani's wide eyes looked worried as she looked the goddess over again. She was brilliant. Everything the small cub had imagined the Sea to be like. She scrabbled forwards towards her, awe written all over her features.
"No, you don't need to apologize!" she said earnestly, gazing at Lew in adoration.
"Have you come to tell me something?" Miani inquired at last, her blue eyes wide with hope and expectation.

Lew cough, water drippi9ng down her chin. Carelessness had it's pitfalls and this was definately one of them. Getting caught by a cub was almost worse than getting caught up with an adult. Of course, mortals were all the same and most would probably think it was a dream anyway.
The watery Goddess watched the cub with brows raised as she stalked towards her. "Whatever you say..."
This was most certainly awkward. It wasn't often that she found someone intrigued by her. Most who found her ended up dead anyway. "Tell you...something?" She wasn't use to giving advice nor telling anyone anything besides their march to nothingness in the sea. "Um...be good to your parents."
Eh. It was a sturdy thing to say...

Miani quirked a brow at the goddess's advice. Well, it was advice... good advice, she supposed, but it was a bit... well, disappointing. She wriggled closer to Lew, still looking up at her with wide-eyed curiosity. "But... but don't you have something to tell me about the sea? Or.. or our pride?" She asked hopefully, giving her her best Bambi eyes. "I've prayed to you every day!"
She bobbed her head earnestly, causing the many shells and ornaments to clink together softly. "Did you hear me praying?" She asked softly, still in awe of the presence of who she thought was her goddess.

Lew coughed a moment, anchoring herself on the rock below her paws. Well, this was awkward. She hadn't expected to be prayed to. It probably wasn't even her. She wasn't a sea goddess, she was a goddess of death. This wasn't her strong point. Dear lord what had she gotten herself into. The sharks in her pulled pulled the strands tight in frustration as she tried to think up the best answer to the child's question.
"Well...I guess I could tell you something about the sea. You did find me after all." Lew figured she could say anything. This was a cub after all. " You're pride has done well in preserving the sea's dignity. It wants to thank you. That's why it brought me here. The waves followed your prayers little one. I'm just a messenger."
That sounded true enough. Hopefully...

Miani's eyes became, if even possible, wider. She stared open-mouthed at the goddess looming before her, and then lowered her head in a deep bow at Lew's words.
"Oh, oh, great goddess!" She breathed, unable to believe her ears. The sea had heard her! She was finally being rewarded for all of her devotion and prayer! Tears formed in her bright eyes as she gazed up at Lew with reverence.
"Thank you, thank you... this is the best day of my life!" She blurted earnestly, eyes shining with love. "May... may I ask what your name is?"
It would be much easier to direct her prayers once she knew the name of her goddess, after all!

"There's no need to bow..." Great. She didn't want to be worshiped. Lew just wanted to go back home and yet here she was, catering to some cub who apparently prayed to a sea goddess. Well, she did look pretty sea like to anyone who saw her. For all she knew, they could be worshiping may gods.
"Please. Don't get emotional on me dear. I have no need for praise. I have done nothing. The sea provides life, not I." Now what had she gotten herself into. This was even worse than before. It would have been better if she had just crawled back into the depths without speaking to her.
"Lewatle." She Nodded, her shells clapping together a few times like usual. "What might your name be so I know who to call next time?"

Miani quickly rose from her bow, not wanting to upset the sea goddess, and waffled a bit about what position to take before seating herself in what she hoped was a graceful manner and placing her forepaws together primly.
"I'm sorry, it's just... you're so amazing!" She exclaimed. "I've never met a god before..."
And if she thought she had been honored before, now the goddess was asking her name! HER name! And saying she was going to come again! Miani thought she might faint with amazement. It took her a few seconds to even remember her own name, she was so thrilled.
"I.. I'm Miani!" She blurted happily. "Daughter of Tambuzi and Mlinda, princess of the Bahari'mtoto pride!" She added after a pause, trying to make herself sound more official.

Great. A princess. She wasn't just any cub. No. She was a damn princess. Now the entire pride would know about her before the day was out. However, Lew kept as large of a smile as she could.
"I figured you hadn't Miani. You wouldn't have been so startled if you had. Besides, I'm not as amazing as some of the others of my kind."
Her tail swished against the rocks as she watched the green cub. "I should visit your pride one day and listen to your prayers rather than be called by them. I've never observed mortals before." Lew supposed it would be fun to do. Maybe. If they didn't bother her too much...
"Just don't tell anyone I'm here alright. It'll be our little secret."

"Oh, yes! You must come meet the pride sometime! They would be so honored!" Miani exclaimed, quivering with excitement at the idea. Wouldn't her parents be impressed!
At Lew insisting that she be kept secret, Miani's face fell a bit. She had wanted to rush home and tell her parents as soon as she could... but she supposed it was fair of the goddess to want to stay under the radar. Besides, then it could be her secret! Just her and Lew! She beamed.
"You can count on me, Lewatle!! I won't breathe a word!"
