Immense pines sway in the mountain breeze, creating a wild tune of soft whispers. They dwarf mangled bushes, weather beaten. Sun-dried grass sways, adding to the ballad. a bay splits the savage landscape. it eases the wilderness with serene sapphire waters. Occasionally worn ships float on its surface, breaking the calm sanctuary.
To the west stands a lone stone tower, rising out of earth. Its rough stone has stood for centuries, silhouette blocking the evening sun.
This beauty is unbroken.

Droplets started to fall from the sky, splattering her already grim riding clothes. She eased her mount into a fast canter. The trees looked forboding in the distance, but they were all the cover she had. Thunderheads rolled in, casting dark shadows on the grassy plains below.

((I hope you don't mind if I join. ^-^))
The sillhouette of a lone cloaked figure remained hidden among the trees, where silver-gray eyes watched the woman on the horse intently from behind the shadow cast by a dark hood. As the horse grew near, the figure quickly turned and made its way along a path through the trees, hoping to avoid being seen.

((Not at all!))
Something tickled her senses. Turning quickly, she gazed into the foreboding forest in front. Dark pines rose up into the sky, but nothing else was to be seen. The rider shook her head. She turned her attention skyward again, keeping an eye out for the storm.

Another lone rider traveled the same path. Her destier's hooves could be heard galloping along the the path. The horse shook his head as the rain began to fall. The path began to form puddles as the hooves of her destier galloped through them. The rider tightened in rein on the horse as her forest-green cloak began to become soaked by the rain.

A low chuckle came from the cloaked figure in the woods as it disappeared deep into the forest. It won't be long... was the thought in the mind of the figure, that though it couldn't be told, was a female. This figure made her way out of the forest an into the small town, letting the cloak block the sunlight from her skin as she kept her head bowed and watched the street ahead of her.

The girl's eyes reflected her determination. Her gray eyes were now the color of a storm torn ocean. A view strands of her ebony hair fell loose from the hood of her cloak. She continued to ride. She was only determined on one thing and yet she didn't know of what it was. She just sensed with every fiber of her being that she had something important to do and that importance was written all over her delicate face.

More rain fell, splashing into the calm bay waters. Ripples danced on the surface, creating intricate patterns. The rider sighed, patting her faithful mare's soft neck. Looking up again, she spied another figure in the distance. The traveler and mount created a single silhouette against the harsh sky.

The girl slowed her horse down to a trut. She needed to find some food for her destrier. Her horse was looking tired and he wasn't running as faced. She was riding all day and she two needed something to eat. She spotted an apple tree and lead her horse there. "There you go," she said to her beloved destrier. The destrier began to eat the apple in her hand.

As he lit the match, a glimpse of black matter flashed in the corner of his eye. He turned just in time to see the cannonball rip away the man who had been standing to his left, and then continue across the deck. It then lodged itself in the thick wooden pole that held up the vast mast overhead.
Turning back, the young man lit the small wick that stood drooping slightly from the large cannon. After he had stepped back, the deck vibrated as the cannon let out a satisfying "bang". He watched as the lead cannonball soared through the air for the short distance between the two ships and struck the wooden side, tearing through the flimsy wood.
"At arms men! Prepare to board!" Hearing the call, Casson began to climb one of the tall posts in which he would make his descent from onto the enemy ship.

An explosion shattered the rider's concentration. She slowed suddenly from her fast gait, pulling well-made leather reins up. Watching the clear bay, she spied two ships. Distance made their figures blurry, but the ring of cannons was unmistakable.

A strong wave shot up the starboard side of the ship and splashed across the deck. The water pushed back a couple of the crew, many of the strong young men falling to the floor as the strong force washed over them. The young man was a small way up the post when a second wave struck and splahed high enough to catch his legs and almost send him toppling towards the ocean's surface.
Within a couple minutes, the two ships were yards apart. The young boy had already secured himself to a rope with his tight grip. He then used the strong muscles in his legs and worked them to bound from his position.
When he was above the enemy ship, he let go and landed on the deck. He then unsheathed his sword and was about to slice at an opposing crew member when a cannonball tore apart his upper torso. Blood sprayed against the man's pearl white shirt.

A battle obviously raged, like the increasing storm. Through the fog, she could see men, oh so many, being torn apart. Cannons shot, killing instantly. The rider gasped, imagining the blood pouring from open wounds. She hated it, standing here, not being able to do a dratted thing. One sailor captured her eye in particular. He rested on a fore deck, crimson blood soaked his ivory shirt, ruining perfection. A dry sob caught her throat.

Looking up from his shirt, the young man turned to the remaining crew and seemed to vanish. He was a quick blur across the deck and then was on top of an enemy. With a quick motion, he had delved his sword into the man's chest and was off before the wounded man's knees had the time to buckle.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a sword glitter and ducked with a considerable amount of time before the weapon wisped overhead. The young man then kicked the outside of the knee of his attacker and shattered his kneecap. He then rose to his feet and dove his sword deep into the man's stomach.
