I have always loved and tried to live up to the ideas of Chivalry, Valor, Honor and Humility. The problem is that in this world, how it is not, they are all a dying thing, if not already dead in some peoples eyes. What do you people think, What are your definitions, views and opinions on these. I would love to know and I would like to share my own ideas and views.

Yes, it is more wide spread than ever, I will admit, but in it's simplest forms. It's so deluded in these days that it's not really Chivalry in it's purest form, it's just Common courtesies that should be observed and done by all, not just a few. And even those are few and far in between, especially among the younger populace. Do you know how often I see people holding doors for others? I hold doors every day, but I see others do it Maybe Once a week I see a guy hold the door for his Girlfriend. Last year I held the door to the front of the school for 2-3 bus loads of Highschool Students Every morning, out of the 60-80 people who went through before I went through, I normally got about a dozen, most of which I got from people I know directly.

Jesse you are a really sweet and helpful person and god gives you the best in many ways you can't see. and you are much wanted if you are single........ girls i know like you.

(I laugh) sorry, but a little inside Joke, I was single, not by choice, till This past summer, which was a long distance relationship. Now I have heard at least a dozen or so comments that girls like me sweatdrop . Now that I'm taken, what the hell, where was that 3 years ago when it would have been plausible. Sorry, Anyway, like I said, there are helpful people, yes, But no where Near as many as there should be and Not as intensely as it should be. I don't even believe I am as Chivalrous as I should be, but I try to be as much as I can.

Yeah, unfortunately, chivalry is a dying thing. You don't see much of it anymore. What happened to good old proper manners? Especially when it comes to the ladies. I mean...s**t....these are a few examples of things that I do on a regular basis.
1. I ALWAYS stand on the bus....coz I hate sitting on the backseat (it always stinks and something is messed on it....Ewww!!) So I stand in the front, near the driver. And when a female, young or old, gets on, I glare at the guys who keep sitting until they stand up.
2. When driving a girl somewhere, I always open the door for her when she gets in and close it behind her. When we get out, I get out as fast as possible, so I can open the door for her.
3. Always open the door for a girl. Always let her walk in first, if it's a known place. If it's somewhere in town, like a bar or pub, the guy walks in first, holding the girls hand behind his back, making sure she's right behind him.
4. When walking down the street, the girl walks on the inside, away from traffic. If you know there's a dog somewhere up ahead, and there's no traffic, you swap positions until past the dog, then swap back to her on the inside.
And yes, obviously the small things. Kissing a girl's hand when you first meet her, or even after a long abscence. Please and thank you.
No, chivalry is not dead. It's still there. It's just diluted. Don't stop what you're doing. We're a dying breed. Don't let chivalry die.
