The following is a comprehensive timeline of events in the RP's universe arranged in chronological order. I tried to stick to what the show laid down as far as how the universe is run as much as possible, but I did need to make a lot of stuff up. Still, a bunch of this stuff has its roots in the show. PM me if you care that much. Also correct me on errors on continuity from 3 years ago onward.
TIMELINE
c.a. 13.7 billion years ago:
-The Living Realm and the Next Dimension are created by a physical singularity. The first matter comes into being, and planets and galaxies begin to form.
11 billion years ago:
-After the full formation of the Next Dimension, life appears on Kaioshin Kai.
10 billion years ago:
-The Kaioshins come into existence on Kaioshin Kai. They, as beings of immense power, intelligence, and longevity, are charged with the task of protecting the universe from evil. Each Kaioshin protects a different quadrant of the universe, with the exception of the Dai
Kaioshin, who oversees the other four.
-The first Dai Kaioshin creates the first sets of Potara earrings.
9 billion years ago:
-The first life appears in the Living Realm in the form of a being of pure evil named Janemba. As he begins to wreck havoc across the universe, he comes to the attention of the South Kaioshin. After engaging Janemba in battle, the South Kaioshin is nearly killed. To prevent his death, the Dai Kaioshin intervenes. The Dai Kaioshin is successful in killing Janemba, but loses his life in the process. A new Dai Kaioshin must be selected.
-The blade used by the Dai Kaioshin to kill Janemba becomes trapped in a rock on Kaioshin Kai. It will later become knows as the Zed Sword.
-Janemba appears in the Next Dimension. Knowing he cannot assault Kaioshin Kai, Janemba claims Hell as his home. Janemba populates Hell with demons to serve him.
-The Rou Dai Kaioshin is selected to replace the fallen Dai Kaioshin.
7 billion years ago:
-The Kais come to power on Other World.
-Janemba assaults Other World, killing many of the Kais, but meets his match in their leader, the Grand Kai. The Grand Kai is able to defeat Janemba and imprison him in a soul-purifying machine.
-To express his gratitude for the assistance, the East Kaioshin appoints The Grand Kai as god of the four galaxies in the east quadrant.
-The Grand Kai hands over Janemba's sword to the East Kaioshin.
-The Grand Kai chooses four other Kais and puts them in charge of one of each of the four galaxies in the east quadrant of the universe. The Grand Kai oversees them.
-The Kaioshins shatter Janemba's blade into seven pieces. The pieces are scattered throughout both dimensions while the hilt is given to the Dai Kaioshin.
-The Grand Kai develops a reputation as the most powerful being in Heaven, something that will follow him even when he is passed his prime.
5 billion years ago:
-Planet Plant forms.
4.6 billion years ago:
-Earth and the Demon World form.
-With their hated god thought dead, the demons that inhabit Hell escape to Earth after pooling their energy to create a dimensional rift. They rule the Earth for thousands of years until their evil comes to the attention of the East Kaioshin. As a result, he banishes them to the Demon World. This feat unfortunately claims the East Kaioshin's life, and a new one is chosen.
-An ensuing civil war between the demons is ended by a demon named Dabura. He takes the position of king of the demons and begins his reign.
-At some point, a witch inadvertently fuses with the Rou Dai Kaioshin using his Potara earrings. This gives the Rou Dai Kaioshin access to powerful magic and the ability to bestow power to another. However, it also makes him ugly and he gives up his position. A new Dai Kaioshin is selected.
4 billion years ago:
-Single-celled organisms develop in Earth's oceans.
200 million years ago:
-Humanoid life forms across the universe in great numbers.
-The ogre known as Yema walks the ten thousand miles down Snake Way to receive training from King Kai.
-The Grand Kai appoints the ogre known as Yema to deal with the sudden influx of dead souls. King Yema enlists the help of the other ogres to help him guard Hell and direct the souls.
-King Yema is appointed with the task of guarding the imprisoned Janemba.
120 million years ago:
-The fist mammals appear on Earth.
100 million years ago:
-Dabura is killed in an effort by his demon brethren to end his reign as king. They succeed, but Dabura doesn�t go quietly, taking the lives of one thousand demons before losing his own life.
-Dabura is sentenced to Hell by King Yema.
-After a few years in Hell, Dabura revolts against the ogres that guard it. He and his followers slaughter anything they can in an effort to escape.
-The orgres flee from Hell, leaving Dabura with no answer as to the location of the exit. For now, he must content himself with ruling only Hell.
-A group of demons in Hell try to find and resurrect the legendary demon god, Janemba, by using a mysterious shard. Dabura finds them out and rips their souls from their bodies. However, this peaks Dabura's interest in the legend of Janemba and he takes the shard for his own.
10 million years ago:
-The situation in Hell worsens. It becomes increasingly clear that Dabura will be able to assault Heaven given a few more years.
-Yema acts. He threatens Dabura with the might of Heaven's warriors led by the Grand Kai.
-Dabura, knowing he would be no match for them, relents. He allows the ogres to enter Hell once again. Dabura also submits himself to Yema's orders in return for his rule in Hell to continue.
-Various demons of great power arise in Hell, coming to power after Dabura's revolt. They are the strongest of the one thousand Dabura laid to waste before his own death on the Demon World. Though not strong enough to kill him, the demons quickly establish themselves as kings, each claiming a piece of Hell for himself. Wars for territory and power start between them. The ogres do not dare to enter the depths of Hell out of fear for their lives, and therefore do not know of Hell's inner workings. The Kais, however, have full knowlege of Hell's true nature. They do not interviene as they do not see the kings of Hell as a serious threat.
-The ogres errect a gate to Hell's depths to protect themselves from the demon kings' armies. As per Dabura's order, only those condemned to Hell may pass through the gate to what he calls "True Hell."
5 million years ago:
-Babbidi is born to Bibbidi.
-The evil wizard Bibbidi creates Majin Buu. Buu goes on a rampage, destroying thousands of planets until he comes to Kaioshin Kai. The South Kaioshin, the strongest of them, engages Buu in battle and is absorbed. Strong Buu then kills the North and West Kaioshins. Before any more destruction can occur, however, the Dai Kaioshin steps in and allows himself to be absorbed by Strong Buu. Because of the Dai Kaioshin's pure heart, Buu actually becomes weaker and easier for Bibbidi to control. He also takes on a pudgy appearance thanks to the
Dai Kaioshin, becoming Fat Buu.
-Sometime later, Bibbidi finds he can no longer control his creation and seals him within a ball on Earth.
-Knowing that only Bibbidi could free Buu, the East Kaioshin strikes, killing Bibbidi. He leaves the imprisoned Buu on Earth.
-The evolutionary chain on Planet Plant is disrupted. Two different groups begin to emerge. They later become the Saiyans and the Tuffles.
-A mysterious Super Saiyan 4 appears on Kaioshin Kai. He is permitted to stay after telling the East Kaioshin who he is and where he's from.
3.7 million years ago:
The first primitive humans appear.
4,356 years ago:
First Other World Tournament held on Other World in Heaven.
3,000 years ago:
-The leaders of each of the six Saiyan tribes all spontaneously tap into the legendary golden power of the Super Saiyan. None of them are worthy enough to claim it, however, and only ascend to the level of 'False Super Saiyan.' In a blind rage, they cut a path of destruction across Planet Plant. Thousands of both Saiyans and Tuffles are killed. As their power threatens to consume the planet, an uneasy alliance between the Saiyans and Tuffles brings their destruction to an end. Before their deaths, however, the six legendary Saiyans prophesize the coming of a seventh, true Super Saiyan to replace them.
-With the deaths of the six Super Saiyans, the Tuffles turn on their Saiyan allies. Most of the Saiyans present for the prophecy are killed and the Super Saiyan falls into legend.
-The legend becomes filled with errors. Some legends make the mistake of saying there were seven legendary Super Saiyans, while others say there was only one who could only maintain the transformation as an Oozaru.
-The near-destruction of the north galaxy due to the colossal amount of Super Saiyan energy comes to the attention of the East Kaioshin. Knowing that the seventh Super Saiyan would have even more unimaginable power, he personally orders King Yema to see that the prophesized child is not born as a Saiyan.
-Instead, the Legendary Super Saiyan is born on Earth as a human.
This leaves the prophecy unfulfilled.
-The Legendary Super Saiyan is born into a line of legendary warriors known as the Asakari. He is the seventh of that line.
-Asakari 7 hones his mind and body to mental and physical perfection. He masters ki use at age eleven. At age twenty five, Asakari 7 goes to train in the wilderness. He does not go back to his tribe for thirty years.
2,400 years ago:
-Asakari 7 emerges from training. He has perfected a martial arts style of his own invention as well as the Seluna's Blessing technique. Age is no longer a factor for Asakari 7. He will remain at his prime for the rest of his life.
- Ten years later, Majin Buu awakens on Earth. He terrorizes the members of Asakari 7's tribe.
-Asakari 7 engages Majin Buu in battle to find that he's severely out-classed.
-Knowing of only one way to stop Buu, Asakari forges a mystical bladethat he can channel ki through. Asakari 7 then uses the forbidden Death Trance technique of his tribe. It allows him to fight at a whole other level, but the user will not leave the trance until their opponent is dead.
-Asakari 7 once again encounters Majin Buu. He holds his own against Buu's playful nature, but begins losing once Buu gets serious about killing him. Finally, Buu must go all out to defeat Asakari 7, and Asakari 7 strikes. He infuses the Blade with the Evil Containment Wave technique that, legend held, was used by a god to send the devils that once roamed Earth to the Underworld.
-Asakari 7 gives one final push, tapping into the energy that was his birthright. As he dies, his sword cuts Buu in two and both halves are resealed in the ball Bibbidi had originally imprisoned Buu in.
-Asakari 7 goes to Other World.
-Asakari's blade will change hands over the next two thousand years, eventually ending up in Mexico.
2,000 years ago:
-Asakari 7 forges a second mystical blade. It is infused with a shard he found with overtly mystical properties.
900 years ago:
-Piccolo is born to a Namekian named Kattatsu.
-Four years later, Namek is threatened by a climactic disaster. To save his son's life, Kattatsu sends Piccolo off in a space ship.
894 years ago:
-Guru, the sole survivor of the Namekian race recreates the Dragonballs of Namek. He later has the task of repopulating the entire planet.
891 years ago:
-Piccolo crashes on Planet Plant.
-He later separates himself into a being of pure good and a being of pure evil. The evil being will later come to be known as King Piccolo.
885 years ago:
-Piccolo and his double set out from their mountain home. Some months later, they encounter the Tuffles, the ruling race on Planet Plant. Rejected by the Tuffles and with nowhere else to go, the Namekians are taken in by members of Plant's other humanoid race, the Saiyans.
875 years ago:
-The Saiyans succeed in overthrowing the Tuffles, destroying their entire civilization in a single night thanks to a rare full moon.
-Piccolo leaves Planet Plant. He crashes on Earth a few weeks later.
870 years ago:
-The Saiyan leader is overthrown. His subjects, one of whom is King Piccolo, are ordered to be killed.
-King Vegeta I takes the throne and names the planet after himself.
-Taking the name Nizzizaru, King Piccolo enters the Saiyan army as an alien slave.
880 years ago:
-Piccolo finds Kami's Lookout and begins training with the Kami of the Earth.
850 years ago:
-Piccolo challenges Kami for his position. After finding no evil in Piccolo's heart, the Kami relents.
-Piccolo becomes the new Kami.
720 years ago:
-During the reign of King Vegeta III, the Saiyans are approached by the Arconians, a race of beings working for Frieza. They employ the Saiyans as space pirates to ready planets for sale on the galactic black market.
700 years ago:
-Asakari 7's descendant flies to Kami's Lookout. He trains with Kami for a brief time and teaches Kami the Evil Containment Wave. He tells Kami it will be used to contain an evil demon before leaving the Lookout.
290 years ago:
-A human named Mutaito finds Korin's tower. After climbing it, he travels to Kami's Lookout above and trains with Kami. Before leaving the Lookout, Mutaito masters the Evil Containment Wave.
348 years ago:
-Master Roshi is born.
330 years ago:
-Roshi continues to train with his martial arts master, Mutaito.
328 years ago:
-King Vegeta VII sends Sergent Nizzizaru to Earth to ready it for selling by wiping out its population.
-King Piccolo lands on Earth. He begins to kill large numbers of humans until his actions come to the attention of Kami.
-King Piccolo is confronted by Kami. Kami engages him in battle, though both know that neither can truly win due to their psychic link. Kami proves to be stronger, however, and King Piccolo quickly retreats to his spaceship. Kami returns to the Lookout to tend to injuries.
-On the way to his ship, King Piccolo encounters Roshi and Master Mutaito. Still furious at his defeat at the hands of his better half, King Piccolo engages Mutaito in battle. Knowing he cannot win against the demon that had been causing destruction across the globe, Mutaito uses the Evil Containment Wave against King Piccolo after a short fight. King Piccolo is sealed in a Denshi Jar and Mutaito dies in Roshi's arms.
-Roshi takes the Denshi Jar.
300 years ago:
-Roshi climbs Korin's tower and trains with Korin for three years. He is given a Flying Nimbus at the end of his training.
287 years ago:
-Roshi uses the Flying Nimbus to fly to Kami's Lookout. He meets Kami and gives him the Denshi Jar.
225 years ago:
-Master Roshi becomes a pervert. He will someday hold the world record for number of porn mags.
200 years ago:
-Frieza kills his father.
104 years ago:
-A human named L-rak challenges Kami for his title. Kami outright rejects him, knowing that L-rak has nothing to offer. As he is being escorted off the Lookout by Mr. Popo, L-rak smashes the Denshi Jar containing King Piccolo in anger. Not knowing what he had done, L-rak is astounded to see the legendary demon, King Piccolo appear in front of him.
-King Piccolo quickly kills L-rak and speeds to his ship before he can be stopped by Kami and Mr. Popo. He travels to Vegeta, once again taking the name Nizzizaru.
70 years ago:
-During the rule of King Vegeta IX, a ship full of Saiyans flees Vegeta. It is later shot down by Saiyan space pods and crashes on Earth. This was reported to Frieza.
-Many of the Saiyans sought to live normal lives on Earth and blend in with the humans.
57 years ago:
-Dr. Gero is born.
46 years ago:
-Earth's current king is sworn in.
34 years ago:
-Vegeta X is born.
32 years ago:
-Capsule Corp is founded.
-Mr. Satan is born.
24 years ago:
-Bulma is born.
19 years ago:
-Chi Chi is born to the Ox King.
11 years ago:
-Videl is born.
5 years ago:
-Frieza sends Captain Ginyu to assassinate King Vegeta in secret, intending for Planet Vegeta to succumb to civil war. Ginyu succeeds, but is discovered as he leaves the palace. This causes a great outcry from the Saiyans once they discover that their king had been killed by one of Frieza's men. Frieza denies all involvement, but the Saiyans remain distrustful of Frieza. Frieza kills Ginyu for screwing up.
-Vegeta X becomes the new king of the Saiyans.
