The rumors of monsters appearing that had begun to grow in the southeast of barton was mainly just taken as folly. However, as the more prestigous owners of the Barton Plantations echoed the complaint, the four clans began to take notice. One of the clans decided to visit one of the larger plantations to appease the farmer's minds and increase their own influence.

Farmer Henry and his son Joe were standing by their barn, patiently waiting. Henry was carrying a pitchfork and was staring straight into space, while his son was chewing a piece of straw and twiddling his thumbs. "What's takin' them so long, Pa?" Joe asked.

"I reckon they'll get here soon, son," Henry replied absently. "Jus' a matter of time."

Without hesitation, DeMarkcus stepped past the brush that was covering the door, and into the open field. Maybe I can give the old man and his boy a scare... "Shadow," DeMarkcus muttered under his breath. The small area in which he and Leena were walking in was incased in Shadow. Unless the man had heat-vision glasses, it was unlucky that Leena and himself would be spotted.

Following DeMarkcus' orders, Ariadne scurried quietly with stealth into the brush. She watched him through the cracks of the space that were between the twigs. They were to follow his orders. He was to send the farmer out and try to coax the monsters out. If the monsters were to attack the farmer they weren't to waste their energy on him.

She was very well hidden in the shadows of the brush. Her black outfit made her just another shadow hidden beyond, waiting for what to was come next.

Rakinu stealthily made her way through the fields toward the forest. She kept a sharp eye on the farmer as DeMarkcus had all but disappeared from sight. With luck she would be able to tell what was going on.

The shadow of a girl moved past grazing cattle with expertly placed steps. Without disturbing the tall grass she moved carefully without a single bovine discovering her presence. A gust of wind tugged on Rakinu's cloak and played with the tops of the tall grass. Rakinu took this opportunity to double her speed. She could move quickly under the cover of the wind and so she did.

The assassin reached the forest and took her place in a thicket of brush near the border of field and forest. Keeping an eye on her surroundings she spotted the farmer and his son, all but specks now. "Too far," she thought. "It's too far for reading lips." Slightly disappointed she settles in to a comfortable position prepared to leap into action when necessary.

Selikia paused just outside the hidden entrance, and scanned the area, trying to memorize the location. She decided to follow Ariadne into the brush. Never hurts to have an ally to watch your back, it'll help us both. Acting according to this, Selikia settled in watching for anything that might approach from the other side of the brush. While doing so she spoke softly to Araiadne.

"Hope you don't mind having an ally near, no point in spreading out so much that each of us could be taken by surprise. If we stick together, we'll have better chances in general." This will give me some insight as to her character as well, she thought. Perhaps I can come out of this with someone I can work with regularly, perhaps the beginings of an elite team... She shook herself. Right now, I need to focus on the mission, I'll have time to plan status building exercises later.

Ariadne glanced over as Selikia settled in next to her. She smiled under her mask. "No. I don't mind at all. Two sets of ears and eyes is better then one," she whispered to her against the wind. Her apprentice had taught her to trust her senses first, but never underestimate the senses of fellow ninjas. Having an ally by her side would be perfect, she thought.

Her eyes moved back looking through the brush. Demarkcus seemed to be fading somewhat against the haze lifting in the field. It was the law of physics that in the evening hours there seemed to be some sort of fog lifting in a field, especially with the temperature starting to drop.

The farmer looked about, seeing nobody. "Iffen they don't come here soon, Pa, I'm gonna go back and git my work done. Ya'd think the clan's would be more reliable..." Henry didn't reply, simply staring straight into the distance. His son soon echoed his patient silence.

DeMarkcus pulled out his Matter Stick from it's holdster on his back, and he morphed it into a sword. DeMarkcus went around the men, and slashed the rock, still encased in Shadow. He then hurried to the other side, and slashed that. A second later, he was behind the men again. DeMarkcus again transformed his Weapon, this time into Nun-Chucks, and pulled them around the young boy's neck. "Hello..."

The boy fell back, immediately grabbing the weapon around his neck. "Father!" he gasped.

Farmer Henry turned around. His eyes widened as he saw the leader of the Death Clan seemingly trying to strangle his boy. Without hesitation, he brought the bottom of his pitchfork around in a smooth arch and smacked it down onto his boy's head, dazing him but also making him fall down, out of the nun-chucks' grip.

"Took you long enough," he said simply.

DeMarkcus fell back slightly, somewhat..stunned. The man had beaten his boy on the head with his pitchfork to get him away from DeMarkcus. "Well, now that you've ruined all the fun..." He stopped talking suddenly as he heard the Farmer's next words. 'It took you long enough.' Who does this Farmer think he is?! With a wave of his Nun-chucks, DeMarkcus had them wrapped around the Pitchfork. He swiftly removed the Pitchfork from his hand, and, with an Unholy, disentigrated it. DeMarkcus then proceded in again transforming his weapon, this time into a Knife. Again he disappeared with Shadow, and reappeared behind the old man, knife to his throat. "Don't you ever talk to me like that again, understand, commoner? I'll take as long as I wish. The only thing that stops me from being rid of you right now is the mission at hand." One final time DeMarkcus disappeared with Shadow, and reappeared in front of the now sweating old man, this time a Scythe in his hand. "Now. Talk."

Rakinu notices DeMarkcus attack the boy and then his father. "What is he thinking? Assaulting our patrons will only give us a bad name. And to do it with such contemptable methods. I am beginning to wonder how we actually have any money at all," Rakinu thinks to herself.

Rakinu sits in waiting ready to act at any second. Her index finger curled around the trigger while leather wrappings on her hand clutched the handle fitted perferctly for her hand. Her thumb rested on the gear that was already set to simultaneous fire. She could not be more prepared for the engagement and so she waited. Patiently waited.

-EDIT-
As Ariadne and Selikia moved off to the left and into the brush, Quentyn did likewise to the right, running a parallel course to them for as long as he could keep track of where they were. Which wasn't very long at all. Although he still had a general idea of where they were and a rough guess as to where they were heading.

Quentyn kept and eye and an ear open for anything suspisious, he considered the left side covered, so he didn't give as much attention to that area as compared to the right and front, where he was going to be the first to encounter anything that came from there.

Having reached a good spot from which to both observe the farm and cover DeMarkcus, Quentyn settled in, who knew how long of a wait this was going to be?

Farmer Henry yawned loudly, showing no sign that he was even aware that DeMarckus was on the verge of killing him. "There were a bunch of monsters eating my sheep, and my boy here's a coward, so he's not gonna kill them. I'd do it myself, but you just destroyed my pitchfork, so I guess its a good thing that you're here; you should get the job done." Turning around, he put his hand above his eyes and looked into the distance. "The monsters were... over there..." he pointed at a field several hundred yards away from where they stood. "I'm sure if you walk far enough you'll find them."

Rakinu watched the conversation intently. The farmer showed no signs of retaliation. She grunted lightly to herself and continued watching. The farmer's posture was callous and uncaring as he pointed off into the distance. Obviously where the monsters would presumably be, or where they were last spotted.

Rakinu made note and inched closer to the edge of the brush and awaited DeMarkcus's signal.
