It was cluttering up the main page, so I figured I'd move it here. A lot of these are just suggestions, and it will be added to, but any major rule changes will be announced, and I doubt there will be any changes.
1. This is a PG-13 site. I know Shakespeare had a dirty, dirty mind. But even so, keep it PG-13. That shouldn't be too difficult. However, repeat offenders will be given the boot.
2. Keep more or less on-topic until we get an off-topic subforum. I'm not going to make a big deal about this one.
3. Don't join just because you want help with homework. If it's something that is easily answered from the text, DO IT YOURSELF. If it's something debatable, we'd love to hear about it. And if all you post is blatant requests for homework help, then you will get banned. But we may get a homework help subforum, thus limiting the extent of this rule.
3. No harassment. None. I'm not playing games with this one. You give another member crap, and insult them based on age, race, gender, religion, etc., you will be kicked out of the guild.
4. Please no chatspeak or poor grammar/spelling. I'm not asking you to spellcheck each post, but please use proper punctuation. Not an offense you'll get the boot for, but some guild members might get obnoxious reminding you. If English is not your first language, and you're not great with it, just mention it in the introductions thread.
5. To get accepted to the guild, just say something about Shakespeare's plays or sonnets, such as which one you liked best and why. Only a few sentences required, just enough to prove that you are relatively literate, and have a genuine interest.
6. Advertising = heart
Banners are here, but we really need more.
ONCE YOU GET ACCEPTED:
-Be active! This is a young guild, and the more you post (no spam, though), the better it is.
-It's highly recommended that you friend the guild mule, Nick_Bottom, because major updates will come through the mule, and if for any reason anyone needs to mass-PM the guild, there's a way to do so (according to the mods, they are working on the mass-PM function for guilds, but they're still a long way off). EDIT: With friends@gaia down, this isn't really helpful anymore. I'm hoping that in a few weeks, I can nix this suggestion entirely.
