This is information open to anyone, but specifically for those not accuainted with Lenin. This is a short biography and much more in-depth ones can be found through any search engine.

Vladimir Ilych Ulyanov (he was called Lenin later in life but born Ulyanov) was born in April of 1870 in Simbrisk, his life wasn't very eventful until he was 16, and his father died on January 24, 1886. A year later his brother was executed for conspiring to assassinate the Czar. Later that year he enrolled in Kazan university but a few months afterwards is arrested and expelled for participating in student protests. He studied law and the works of other Russian revolutionaries from 1888 to 1889 and he lives in Kazan and Samara. In 1892 he gained his liscence to practice law. The next year he became active in a Marxist group and went to St. Petersburg (later named Leningrad oddly enough). In 1895 he left Russia to meet revolutionaries living outside of his homeland. That same year he planned to publish Rabochye Delo, an illegal newspaper, but was arrested back home on Dec. 7. The League Of Struggle for the Emancipation of the Working Class is founded and Lenin is a member. He was held by the authorities for all of 1896 and in 1897 he was exiled to Shushenskoye, Siberia. In 1898 he Founded the Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party (RSDLP) in Minsk. Later that year he was married to to N.K. Krupskaya who later was one of the leaders of the Bolshevik party alongside Lenin. In early 1899 he published his first book titled The Development of Capitalism in Russia. In late 1900 he published the first issue of Iskra, his paper. In 1901 he used Lenin as his name for the first time. He published What is To Be Done? in 1902. In 1903 the Bolshevik party is formed. In 1914 Germany attacks Russia and World War One begins. In 1917 the "July Days" uprising begins. That same month Lenin is forced into hiding in Finland, Lenin then called for a new uprising and secretly returns to Petrograd in September. In October Lenin called for "immidiate insurection" even though there was strong opposition within his party. With Lenin as chairman the Soviet government is formed (if anyone is wondering, Soviet is Russian for council). In 1918 Fanny Kaplan tried to assassinate Lenin and failed, he was wounded though. Lenin suffered stroke in 1922 and gaves last public speech months later. Lenin got another stroke in December. Politburo ordered that Lenin be kept in isolation in late December. On December 30, 1922 the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) was formally created. In 1923 Lenin got another stroke and lost his ability to speak. Lenin died on January 21, 1924.

Then why did the Soviets invade the Caucasus, even though it went against his "ideals" of self determination?

When did Lenin's regime invade? Russia invaded a few times, and I think the Soviet union may have once or twice, but I haven't heard of Lenin doing it. Also, Lenin was anti-imperialist, I suggest you read some of his theory.

In 1895 he left Russia to meet revolutionaries living outside of his homeland (Seeing as I do not know Mister Lenin's heritage, Homeland might want to be changed to "Motherland". This can be further explained in desired.). That same year he planned to publish Rabochye Delo, an illegal newspaper; But he was arrested back home on Dec. 7. The League Of Struggle for the Emancipation of the Working Class is founded and Lenin was a member. He was held by the authorities for all of 1896. In 1897 he was exiled to Shushenskoye, Siberia. In 1903 the Bolshevik party was formed. In 1914 Germany attacked Russia and World War One begins (Factual error. WWI began following the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his Wife. Also, Russia invaded Austria First.). In 1917 the "July Days" uprising began. That same month, Lenin is forced into hiding in Finland; Lenin then called for a new uprising and secretly returned to Petrograd in September. In October Lenin called for "immediate insurrection" even though there was strong opposition within his party. Lenin had another stroke in December. Politburo ordered that Lenin be kept in isolation in late December. On December 30, 1922 the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) was formally created. In 1923 Lenin suffered from yet another stroke and lost his ability to speak. Lenin died on January 21, 1924.
