Alright, every time I try to log on to Xbox live with my 360 it says that. I have been online before but only if I havent played in a few hours... What I usually do is I wake up then sign on then afetr around 5 or 6PM it signs me off.
Now I already put the setting in for my DNS and everything is in order on my console but it keeps saying the message
(If its something wrong with my 360 I really don`t want to get a new one because I have so much downloaded content....I could get a memory card but i`m broke right now.)

If you're connected to a router then try turning the router off, unplugging the newtwork cable for the 360, and then plugging everything back in. If that doesn't work then do the same with the modem. If that doesn't work, do all of the above and switch the DSL line (if that's what you have.) If that doesn't work then you need someone else to help you.

Usually when that happens, we unplug our router for a few minutes, and retry. MSN messenger also has a little repair function (Since your DNS can't be resolved, MSNM shouldn't work as well) you can try, it doesn't always work though.

connected directly to the modem? I do the same things.. their should be a chord connected that is the power cord... pull it out wait to a minute or 2... plug the ethernet chord then plug chord back in....
It should reset the IP adress.. but be carfefull because some times people phone are hooked up to it aswell.. i think its worth getting a got router.. but if you connect through modem you will get better ping

There is also a "restore factory settings" option
I had the same problem before, but on the 360 i turned the 'restore factory settings' option on and i hooked on to Xbox live xD i dunno if thats what helped ((*isnt really much of a tech geek*))

This happens to me once in awhile, Its just something to do with the internet connection going THBBBT usually I just turn off the computer and the 360 and wait for a good hour or so, and get on again.
just have a bit of patience I 'spose
