have you tried to find it in your dreams? make a little prayer before going to bed and pay atention to everything tha happends in your dream, if you are patient enough you'll find your guide.

I've been having trouble with this too crying I've tried meditation and trying to find which animals I feel a connection with, but I keep getting different messages. A while ago i felt like the bear and wolf spirits were with me, but now they seem gone... maybe I learnt the lessons they came to teach me at that time... it's all quite confusing!
I don't quite know what to do next really *climbs into boat with darkmetroboy* avast ye and set sail! pirate

Spirit animals are somtimes hard to find. My spirit animal was a cat, I knew this because I had a cat that followed me around constantly for about three years, even to school. No one elce could see it, and I realized that if I talked to it I could figure out my problems by talking them out. Eventuley she left me and I moved on to a Wolf, then to a Hawk, then back to a Wolf. Try to see your animal in your dreams. It might help to ask for one from the god and goddess. I know when I was in a wolf stage, I had the sudden urge to buy this wolf necklace, and then as I bought it I found myself telling the sales lady that it was my totem animal, and it took me saying it for me to realize that it was. I know it's hard, but be paticent, when you are ment to know what your animal is, you will. It will come to you. Sometimes you don't need to know your animal, and it rests until you need it. Sometimes you can go a long period of time without a spirit animal, if you don't need one. Sometimes you can have many, if they are needed. Right now I have two, and I'm not sure why, but I do. They are the Owl, and the Panther. The Owl has only been with me about three months, and the Panther about a year. Before that I went two years without one. It depends on the things your going through and what kind of need you have of one.

The Wolf and Hawk seem to be guides for me The Hawk guided me when life was insanely crazy and the Wolf seemed to protect me.

It's interesting how the different animals help people differently. The Hawk helped me find my inner strength and insperation, the Wolf helped me to be more secretive and protective of my own (I was once an open book, would go talk to a stranger and tell them my life story if they would listen) Each animal and situation is slightly different for everyone. 3nodding

a common misconception that once you find a totem animal that your stuck with it all your life, and that your limited to two. I myself have three: the fox,the jackalope and the raven, but have also worked with the wolf. it also depends where you draw the line, because it dose not have to be a creature that is alive now, I've met people who have dinosures or even dragons, unicorns, fey, or even jackalope as for some other ways to find one, grab a book of animals and look threw it tell a picture gives you a pin and needle felling. a visit to the local zoo might help too. watch them, talk to them (not to loud tho) and ask them for advice.

I think I'm more accustomed to the Wolf and the Bear. Partially cause I lived around them for 7 years and partially cause they seem to understand me...

I seem to have to Guides. One is a dog wrapped in black shadow. when you gaze on him it feels like your falling into a never ending abyss and the other is a dog wrapped in what seems like snow. She come whenever i need clarity in my mind and the Shadow dog comes when I feel like giving in. They both show up when I'm in trouble. I think the're Labrador Retrievers.
I came across them when i had fallen off a cliff outside my village. My leg was dislocated and no one could hear me. The two came out of nowhere and layed on both sides of me. I seemed to fall into a deep sleep and when I woke up I was on the side of the road and my leg was fine. I've seem them here and there ever since.
So I don't think you can search out your spirit guide... when hte time comes they will come to you.
