Hey everyone. This is the official thread for musicians. This includes people who play an instrument (I.e. Guitar, piano, trumpet...) or people who sing or do whatever you do with a synthesizer.
I my self play the guitar and I have been for about two years. I love it and would probably die without it. I have one acoustic, one electric, and an acoustic electric. I personally like playing acoustic better but a lot of the time I wish I was in a band so I could really rock out. I don't really think you can have that much fun on the stage by yourself playing acoustic folk songs even though I love listening to them.
So yea, discuss: What you play.
What you want to play.
Your opinion on intruments.
Ask and answer questions.

Singer: 12 yrs (I suck at this too!)
Guitarist: . . . . ? yrs (The question mark is because I've barely started and I suck)
Pianist: 9 yrs
Violinist: Less than 5 months.
I'm helping out with my friend's band, Confused 2-Night Stand. (They used to be Soundtrack) But I'm not an official member. Mostly cuz I'm waiting for Rache to get back here to North Texas so that me, her, and Ev can (finally!) become Devil's Hands.

I bought a violin thinking I would learn to play it...that was five years ago now I don't know how to play it and it is sitting untuned in my closet =]
In perfect condition.
I could sell it in a yard sell for a couple bucks.

I play organ and bass.
I want a new bass and a new amp, mine suck. I'd die to have a Fender American Jazz and a Roland amp.
I play bass in a band.

Whoa. Omg I'm so sorry haha you're avi looks like a guy to me.
ANYWAY. Your band is actually pretty good. I just love when I hear and see a girl band like that cause there aren't many. I would love to join a band or start one but the people in my school who are actually good at playing an instrument already have one or I don't like them or they don't like me.....And one of my best guy friends is ******** sexist about girls in bands. I hate him for that. He's all like, "Girls shouldn't be in rock bands because it's un ladylike and girls shouldn't scream or sing really loud. It's just cooler when a guy does it."

haha you're not the first one who think that I'M actually a guy, it's okay.
Well first thanks. I think that it's really stupid that people think that girls band aren't good. Look at band like Le Tigre, Sonic Youth, the Dixie Chicks (not that I like them, but they are still really talented), Rainer Maria, Rilo Kiley, Azure Ray, etc. Those bands have girls in them and they still kick asses. It's not cause you are a girl that you don't have any music creativity or talent.
Also I think I'm going to find another band .cause with my current it doesn't really go that well. I don't have the same view has them for making music. Like the guitarist only wants me to play bass line that are exactly like the guitar chords and stuff. I'd also prefer to be in a hardcore band or something in the genre. I'd love to play keyboard or do the screaming for a band, I love playing bass but if I could do the others I'd be more happy.

I've been playing piano for about 8 years.
I played trumpet for about half a year before I switched to French Horn, which I've been playing for about 4 and a half years.
I also play mellophone, at one point I could play a little acoustic guitar, and I've tried learning flute but there are just way too many little valve thingies. sad

uh, i play the sax and this is my 4th year on it. i own an alto sax, but i would love to have a bari sax blaugh i'm savin my money for a soprano because that's a pretty one too.i'm going to be in chorus at my school this year. what sucks is that because of my deep voice and i guess the way i act, people sometimes mistake me for a guy. stare right... uh, yeah. bye
