I just hate fan people on general principle.

Though I'm always reluctant to post in really old topics, my guild invite indicated that this forum needed new life in it soooo...

I do play Kingdom Hearts, but 'm not the fanniest fan person of it ever. I also bash Disney, but for other reasons. Disney's film quality has dropped significantly over the past decade or so, it's like they can't be bothered to put effort into writing and character development anymore and just appeal to cliches and the lowest common denominator. From rambling nonsensical plots like the one in Brother Bear to making Chicken Little more than a parody of another film.

Pirate of the Carribean is quality, of course, but the only reason Disney has a claim on that one was because they were going to sue the original filmmakers over the title.

See, that's different, and something I totally support. Disney's quality has dropped, a lot. However, the people I mean, bash the very existence of Disney, and make fanfiction where the Disney content is completely thrown out of the window, despite the fact that it's a major part of what makes Kingdom Hearts what it is. and I'm rambling again >_>

So I should flame more. ******** babies.

I'll point out that without the rabid fans some of these shows wouldn't have the popularity they do because some of them gain in popularity through word of mouth.

I agree with you, especially with Kingdom Hearts, it strikes me as silly to bash Disney - half the characters in the game are old Disney characters. That said, I hadn't noticed a drop in quality. Now you mention Brother Bear (which I haven't seen) and Chicken Little (which I loved). Lion King was the first time that Disney animators got original, and some people think they copied that too. Perhaps that's their problem. Is Brother Bear based on anything or is it original? Maybe they just need better authors.

As for the Yaoi fans: everyone needs to lighten up when it come to that - yaoi fans and non-fans alike. Yaoi is a huge button pusher in some fandoms and will get somone flamed no matter how well they write. If you don't like that kind of thing don't read it. If you like it, that doesn't mean everyone will. Some people like canon pairings better, some like boy-girl pairings better. Everyone is entitled to their opinion; especially where fanfic/fanart is concerned.

LOL... You're right. That makes a lot more sense than what most people think it was based on. The plot is actually similar to Hamlet. ^^ The people at Disney have to be the most unoriginal writers alive. ^^ (I pick up on the second one being Romeo and Juliet-ish, this is the first time the similarity to Hamlet has been pointed out to me. ^^)
