Things I have learned so far on my journey...
#Dieting is not just a way to lose weight, it's a whole new lifestyle.#
#Good eating choices should be decided everyday.#
#You do not have to sacrifice things you love, you just have to use moderation.#
#People seem to respect you more when they see you are taking care of yourself. #
#Exercise is not just a treadmill and sweat. Exercise can be a day at the mall with friends, a trip to a theme park, cleaning up the house, taking a nice walk in the wilderness, etc. #
#Being healthy makes you full of energy and happiness! You no longer feel so groggy and stressed out. #
#It helps with certain times of the month for females, and makes it less irritating.#
The Hardest Parts So Far
@The hardest part of my change was giving up Dr. Pepper/Soda. I used to drink this stuff as much as I'm drinking water now, and was a significant part of my appetite before my diet.@
Now I have gone cold turkey on all soda. No more of it for me, it was unhealthy and a huge part of my problem with being overweight. I have now replaced it with minimum of 60oz of water a day and morning coffee.
@The second hardest part was getting used to exercising.@
Now I realize that exercising not only is fun, it makes you feel very good afterwards. I can now run around with my friends, I breathe better, and I feel more refreshed and accomplished. Even only two weeks after starting this, I saw these results.
@The third hardest part is the temptation of fast food at college@
I do not think I have overcome this one yet. Seeing as how my class is filled with people eating out, and the fact there is about 7 restaurants around the school, I find it very hard to resist them.
heart I allow both comments and suggestions! heart
Weigh-ins
*I will be doing weigh-ins every two weeks.
February 12th: 205 (-4 pounds heart ) February 26th: 204 (-1 pound. xp ) That's okay, I can see some changes and I have been doing weights which is said to increase weight for a while. So I may have lost a lot of fat. Hopefully. March 12th: 202 (-2 pounds heart ) Yay! I have a feeling that soon I will break the 200 LBS MARK! March 26th: 202 (-0 ) May 7th: 201 (-1) July 1st: 198 (-3) Up to Aug 24th: 188 (-10)
The Diet:
As of early August I am using the Anne Collins diet plan, Vegetarian for Life. www.annecollins.com
Since joining her plan I have lost a total of 10 pounds in about 5 weeks so far. It is working well for me!

Yesterday:
Breakfast: Cereal with soymilk. Lunch: Slice of pizza (had to eat something quick, I was starting to get very dizzy from the exercise I was doing while building a computer desk). Exercise: 1/2 hour on treadmill and 3 hours building a computer desk. Dinner: Two slices of pizza. (I felt so horrible. It was part of a raffle and I was filled with a room of people eating it.) Snack: Couple bites of sugarless jello.

Today!
Breakfast: Whole Grain Cereal again with soymilk. Drink: 8 ounce cup of coffee, low fat sweetner. Exercise: At work lifting and running around. Lunch: Protein Bar and some water. Dinner: Japanese style noodles with vegitables. Drink: Tall glass of ice water. Drink: Sweetened hot tea.
Today I did very well, and I was quite proud. I felt though that I could have had more water though, and perhaps something a little better for lunch as my stomache was rumbling until I was able to get home for dinner. I think that I could have brought an apple or something to accompany the bar as it left me feeling more hungry. Stress at work made me want to eat, but I overcame it by telling myself eating will not fix any of the problems. surprised
Total Estimated Calories: 1105 minus workout, 800.

Breakfast: Cut up boiled hotdog with ketchup. Drink: Cup of morning coffee. Lunch: Two wheat crackers with cheese, 3 pistachios. neutral Exercise: Just some physical stuff at work. Drink: Bottle of water. Dinner One scoop of spaghetti with tomato sauce and meat.
Total Estimated Calories: 675
Not very proud of this day's eating plan. First off I needed more than just that for lunch, although I was at work and was just trying to get something before rushing off to the next project. The biggest thing was the spaghetti but I still kept it porportional.

I was using just estimates but when I went to fitday.com and entered stuff I realized that I undershot my estimates. I do realize though that I need to eat just a bit more calories and I really need to add more water to my diet. By the way your comment sounded a little snappy, although with good cause behind it. sweatdrop

Breakfast: Yogurt with granola chunks. Drink: Coffee with sweetner. Lunch: One serving of Japanese ramen, no sauce but vegitables added. Exercise: Painted at work, carried white boards to trash after undrilling them. Drink: Bottled water and another cup of sweetened coffee. Dinner: OMG. I went to Country Buffet because of my mom. I kept careful track of how and what I was eating. I ate mainly veggies but splurged on a rootbeer float. I think I ate around 700 calories. My stomach hurts though from the sudden quantity of food. sad
I think I'm going to go back to taking daily vitamins again. I don't think I'm getting much vitamins so I'll definately do it. My mom is really good with pills/vitamins so I'll talk to her about setting me up with which ones to take.
I think this diet is going pretty well. I am waking up a lot easier now and not feeling so groggy all the time. I am actually motivated to go places and hang out with friends every weekend, and I'm no longer drooling at the smell of fast food places. On weekends I'm going to go to a gym and do some cardio and perhaps train myself to slowly be able to run (it's a requirement for the FBI to run). mrgreen I also find myself slowly getting into the habit of making meals more healthy by adding extra veggies when possible and making sure I am drinking milk.
Estimated Calories: 1200.

Sandi o_O I'm sorry for the snappiness, but I get really upset when people are starving themselves. And I thought you were. Very reasonable, and I'm glad you called me on it. As I look I can see that I really do need to eat a bit more because it is very little that I am eating and going from what I used to eat to around 500 calories is not good. I appreciate you worrying about me but I promise I will work on making sure I'm getting enough.

I took a sneakpeak at the scale, even though it was not weigh-in time. I am so excited to announce my weight next week! I really feel that I will get close to my 10 lbs lost by Feb 16th for the concert! heart And my sister is now wanting me to teach her, and she went with me to workout today! I'm so glad! I think she was shocked at my loss so far when I told her, and she's on board. We are going to go shopping again on Friday, my payday, at the whole foods store and stock up on another two weeks of health food.
I'm so happy! heart blaugh heart

Breakfast: 100 calorie pack of wheat thins. Drink: Big cup ice water. Lunch: Cabbage with potato Drink: Bottled Water Snack: Small bag of Gardetto's Early dinner: 3 small slices of pizza, salad with lite ranch. Drink: Rasberry Tea then non-fat Dolce Latte Class munchy: Four pistachios. ...2nd dinner? Taco my mom made. Drink: Another cup of water.
Exercise: I could not bear going to bed knowing how much I had eaten that day, without a bit of exercise. Luckily this workout place is open until midnight, so I went there. I did 15 minutes on eliptical, 30 minutes on a treadmill at 3.5 with incline, and 30 crunces on the ab lounge. I felt soo much better afterwards.
Estimated Calories: 1500-300 exercise= 1200. Much better.
Yet another bad day for eating. Everything was great until I went with my sister for an early dinner before class. She wanted pizza and despite the bag of Gardetto's I had eaten while doing some homework, I could splurge a bit. Well then after that we agreed that we wanted coffee, and I had a LONG lecture class so we got some non-fat kinds. During class everyone was eating Chinese so I ate four pistachios. But then I got home and my mom made some tacos. I could not resist. sad Plus then she would know our secret of going out to lunch. So I ate it.
Tomorrow I think I'm going to heavy-duty exercise after work to make up for the calories I had gone over today. I also read from a medical book that you can loose 200 calories by drinking a load of ice water, but I did not deduct that from my calorie intake.
