((All right - I hope this is OK. I got confused on where to post and . . uh . . . yeah. Enter Uta and Satehl after a very long journey away from home. Uta's currently waiting in the maintenance area, and Satehl's off wandering around the mall on ring 4? . . or whatever ring that is. *laughs*))
Uta didn't know what to do. The predator mage was at her wits end trying to get someone to actually tell her what the hang up was! "You don't understand - I need . . I need that ship! I can't get back to camp without it!"
This wasn't the first time she'd been so close to Masquerade without actually being there. She'd put Satehl through hell - a spell gone horribly, horribly wrong had knocked them planets, practically galaxies away. That had been traumatic enough on the boy - the chances of them finding Msquerade again had been slim to none but . . . they did it. Somehow, the fates had smiled upon them and brought them back to the planet.
For a day.
And then it had all fallen to pieces. Again. Another glitched spell, and off they were again. If she'd hurt Satehl before, it was nothing compared to getting lost a second time. The shadows had been clawing at her, digging at her to return to Kaze and the darkness that their lives once had been. A curse, in a way, to drive her away from Masquerade, to get her to return to her old home and world.
The curse had worked twice before, infuriated, she'd found a mage strong enough to remove the wretched shadow magic. Curse removed, it didn't take Uta long to sever ties completely with the shadows that had kept her chained. The shadowed planet she'd grown in was nothing but a facet of history - her real home was with Satehl on Masquerade.
So th pair began their search again - but this time, Uta had a better grasp on where they were going. The trip had been long, but Satehl had remained hopeful - about as hopeful as he could. Despite knowing that they'd return again, Uta felt that some innocence and trust had been taken away. The boy never seemed to blame her for the upsets, but Uta couldn't help but feel it was her fault.
Satehl needed the companionship of his peers. The social child seemed to suffer day by day - the radiance he'd once emitted had seemed to dim to nothing but a spark. And Uta would be damned if she let him suffer anymore.
So now, stuck with missing parts, so close to Masquerade, the predator mage was close to going on a rampage. "I don't care what you have to do, but GET IT FIXED!" Teeth bared, eyes glowing, the woman was truly disgrunteled.
Satehl, on the other hand, had left Uta to deal with the business aspect of things. He'd caught word that there was a mall in the station, and while his guardian was being all adult and resopnsible, Satehl's curiousity got the better of him. Like always, it didn't take much to lure the pony-tailed boy away from his guardians careful watch.
I'll be back later! Let me know when we're ready! Informing Uta of his plans, the boy didn't wait for a response. He'd already ducked down the proper corridors and moseyed in to various elevators and stairwells.
Upon entering the fourth level, the masked child was floored. There were so many people, so many colours, so much briliance! Screw machinery and oil and spacheships - here was where colour and life truly prospered!
Hands behind his head, the lanky, violet-skinned boy loped up and down the corridors. He didn't stand still for long - his attention was enraptured by the various items for sale - clothing of all fabrics and colours, food from races he couldn't quite imagine, and nick-nacks that ranged from super cool to super crazy!
The sounds, the crowds, the sights and smells were all a great distraction for Satehl. It kept him from depression, it kept him from anxiety, and it kept him from thinking of his friends and peers that were down at Masquerade. It was worse now than it had been the last time he'd been so close. . . .
He knew they were there. That was his home! That was where he needed to be! To see Io and Cern! They'd both just grown up! And to run in to Fauve and Ashira - the silly girls whom he tormented with hair tugging and crayon drawings - oh! How he wanted to be with them, to see them all!
They were his companions. Had they forgotten about him. . . ?
Maybe.
But he'd make them remember.
Nails tapping on the glass display window of a shop, the blitz mask stuck out like a sore thumb. There weren't many creatures or species that had outlandish masks for faces.

((We can say... hrm... something. Maybe this happens a few days after the other RP, 'cause Haisyn needed to come back to pick up some of the supplies, or something.))
Ashirha wandered somewhat aimlessly around the main Mall corridor, trying to get a better look at some of the things she'd seen last time she was here. Mainly she was trying to find that dress shop she'd ordered a dress for Hai at secretly after she actually talked her into trying on a couple. There were so many strange things to see here, though!
She ducked between two crowds of people gathered around a couple of "street" magicians performing tricks and saw something so strange that she only barely remembered to remain standing. A little boy was looking in a shop window, tapping his fingers on the glass. A little boy wasn't so strange, perhaps, but she knew that skin tone, and that hair, and the back of that mask.
Satehl?!

((Yeah, sorry if this caught you guys in a weird spot. n.n; I wasn't sure where to begin so I just . . .wrote.))
It took Satehl a moment to realize that it wasn't Uta who'd called him. So used to speaking only to her, and having been so long away from his peers and kin, for a moment the boy only thought he'd imagined it. His mind, already filled with deep thoughts and superficial amazement at the glorious sights around him, took a moment to figure out that it was someone else speaking to him.
Someone who knew his name, someone who sounded so . . . so . . . familiar!
Glancing over his shoulder, Satehl caught a hint of blonde hair - black and pink, with a mask that curled on the edges. There was a familiarity about her, but something so different, so strange Satehl was stunned silent. He knew her, and yet didn't all the same time!
It couldn't be . . . but it was! ASHIRHA~!!!!!!! Eyes wide with shock, the lightning mask all but sparked with emotion. Everything else was forgotten, the colours, the sights, the sounds, the smells. The more he stared at Ashirha, the more he was sure that it was one of his own.
She looked the same . . . sort of.
Just taller. Bulkier. With wings.
But maybe it was all decoration! So excited to see one of his own, the gangly boy wasted no time bolting over to the woman. Pushing through the crowd to bridge the distance, he spared her no amount of dignity.
Throwing himself and all his weight towards her, he attempted to embrace his old friend in a hug. It was different, though. She was just too tall!
But that didn't matter. Not right now at least. Looking up, eyes bright, the energy around Satehl was litterally electric. You're . . . . you grew!
Just like Io.

If Ash's face had been at all visible she would have looked quite sheepish. 'Yeah... It wasn't my idea, it just sorta... happened, like it did to Io and Cern.' What do you say when you run into someone you didn't think you'd see again? 'Most of us grew... but... we didn't get lost, either...'
She just sort of paused for a moment, and then squatted down to give Satehl one of her BIGGEST HUGS EVAR. She'd grown, but aside from a few changes in perspective she really wasn't all that different. 'I MISSED you! I kept hoping you'd come back but you were gone so long...' She shook her head and wiped a tear that was trickling down her mask. 'But you're back now! We should celebrate! Uh... Food! You hungry?'
She stood up, and still had to get on tippy-toe to really see. She was actually a taddy bit taller than Haisyn now, but she was still only just above 5 1/2 feet tall and had trouble seeing over crowds of people. 'We can eat and I can tell you about stuff that's happened and you can tell me about stuff that's happened and then we can go look around and buy stuff and pick up some stuff I ordered when I was here before and then we can go scare Haisyn and when we can get back to Masquerade you can help build the electric fence if you want and - OH. Some of the others even got their masks off!'
She'd aquired hight, a pair of dragon wings and tail, and an interest in the opposite sex, but she was definitely still the same chattery, mischievous Ashy.

Satehl was still completely stunned that he was with them again. For as long as he'd disappeared, all he'd wanted to be back on Masquerade. Back with Io and Cern and Ashy and Fauve; back with the Rade and the ROUS and the adventures and the discovery. How he'd missed his old life, missed the comfort of the only life he'd ever known.
Now, with Ashirha so close, Satehl could honestly stay he was the happiest he'd ever been. If his emotions weren't running a million miles per hour, zig zagging, twisting, twirling, fluttering in absolute rapture, the boy might have started crying. But he couldn't cry - not when he was so HAPPY!
Latched firmly to Ashirha, there was no doubt of the desperation in his grip. He was honestly afraid to let her go. His friend was tangible - the fabric of her clothes, the heat from her body - it was all real. She wasn't a wistful thought or memory, a dream come to haunt him.
Oh no, today Ashirha was real. If he let her go, part of the boy was deeply terrified of losing everything again.
So long as he was close to her, he knew she existed. So long as he held her, he wouldn't disappear again.
Of course, despite his delight, this was Satehl. The energetic boy kept up with his chattering - if much more curvier - friend! I missed you too! I was soooo far away and I came back for a DAY and then we disappeared again! And alll I could talk about was you and Fauve and the others and all Uta wanted was to get us back but we were so busy and soooo far away - it was HORRIBLE!! I was absolutely MISERABLE! But now we're hear and now YOU'RE here and food would be absolutely fantastic!!
In the same breath, still keeping one hand clutched to Ashirha's shirt, Satehl didn't miss a beat. I can't wait to tell you about all the adventures I've been on! We've been everywhere - to ice planets and lava stations and there were people with eight heads and two arms and one leg and some world with cats and dragons and talking space ships and planets with rings, and moons, and OH! There were actual flying carpets somewhere! FLYING CARPETS! But you had to be careful around them because they were on trial for suffocating some of their passengers, but it was SO NEAT!
Are you still friends with Fauve? How's she? And Io, and Nika and everyone? You said some had their MASKS off? No. Way! At this, Satehl truly was surprised. His free hand reached up to touch the black and white face that had been the only face he'd ever known. Take it off. . . ? Satehl was too young to understand how he felt about that. What would it be like to be maskless. . .? That would be kind of weird, wouldn't it? How come you still have yours?

Ash hoisted Satehl up and folded her wings around the two of them as she shoved her way through a particularly thick crowd and set him down on the other side just outside a burger joint. They have burgers here that are sooooo good! She bounced up to the counter and indicated with hand motions that they both needed a large-sized number three meal, which had bacon cheeseburgers. She hoped Satehl would like them too.
Eight-headed people? Where they as confused as it sounds? She gave a mental giggle at that. And DRAGONS? Awww man I wanna see a dragon!
The food was done fairly quickly and Ash steered Satehl to a seat with one hand while holding up their tray with the other. It wasn't the normal lunch hour here, but she'd skipped breakfast earlier and was more than grateful that there was actually room to sit.
Yeah, masks off! Nika's one of the ones that got his off. That last question was a lot harder. Well... it seems like we grow when our memories are ready to come back... partly. There's a special magic that will take the masks off after that, but all our memories, and for those like Nika and Shiva, all our powers, come back all at once when we do that. So we kinda have to find some of our memories on our own first so the mask is ready to come off, see? And, well, I haven't found the right ones yet I guess 'cause I'm not ready to take it off.

It was pure bliss. Satehl was on cloud nine, and couldn't believe that everything was so true. Was this REALLY Ashy? Was this REALLY the mischievious girl he'd wresteled such a long time ago? She looked like Ashirha, and acted like her, and had the same memories of him - but she was grown up now.
. . . but did that really matter?
Nah.
It was Ashirha! And she hadn't forgotten about him! That relieved one of his fears. He'd suffered nightmares over the thought that his kin, his friends, his fellows forgot about him. That he was a mask with no one, alone, with no hope of returning to the only people who mattered. And yet, now he was here. . . with Ashirha and everything was perfect.
Almost.
The only thing that could make it better was if he were actually back ON Masquerade! His home sweet home, his planet. The one day he'd returned he recalled that things had . . . changed. Home Base had grown to a practical village! So would things be even more different now. . ?
Probably - but it wouldn't matter. There would still be a place for him and Uta. They needed an electric fence!
The boy babbled a bit as they waited for the food, and continued to babble about nonsensical planets and dragons and carpts and vacuums and fires and oddeties that made no sense. Taking a seat, the boy practically bounced, still incredibly thrilled that he was actually having lunch with Ashirha!
As Ash described the removal of the masks, Satehl (who had dove in to his food but kept his eyes firmly on his friend) listened intently. Hmmmm . . . . . He stayed quiet for a moment, digesting the information given. His mind tried hard to wrap around the concept of memories and mask removal. I never remember anything. He admitted, heaving a little mental sigh. I kind of remember Io talking about remembering things and . . but I never remembered anything. Am I supposed to? Maybe I broke! Or maybe I'm just not supposed to remember things. the only thing I ever remembered was now - with you and Fauve and Scagg and Tiame and the adventures we had with everyone.
Yep - that was about it. No memories from the ancient past, just memories of what once was in his current life. Just memories of water and crayons and giggles and R.O.U.S.
Glancing up at Fauve, he offered her grin that reflected in his eyes. You'll find them, I bet. You're already tall - and if the others can do it, you can too. Just keep remembering things and it's bound to happen. I mean, look at you! You're tall and have wings and a dragon tail!! A DRAGON TAIL!
As ever, Satehl only JUST recognized the cool additional features. Yes, his mind had noted it earlier, but only NOW did the concept hit him full force. I want to grow a tail and wings! I mean, if you can do THAT then of COURSE you can get your mask off! Memories are nothin' compared to dragon tails and wings.
In his mind, he'd keep his mask any day if he could only have cool new features.
The coolest accessory he had - the ONLY accessory at this point - was his studded bracelet. It was the only thing he wore that he treasured - it had been one of his only physical reminders of home.

Ash blinked. She'd had the wings and tail on for so long she didn't think twice about them any more. It explained why people stared so much. Well, see, I didn't remember anything BEFORE I grew up. It's like the memories decided to come back and from what Hai told me, I blacked out when it happened. We were gonna go figure out where that fence I mentioned needed to go, and I was heading out the door, and next thing I remember I woke up... well, like this. For the most part. She wiggled her wings. I actually had these before that, I didn't get the tail til later. TB found these stones that react when we have them on. She pointed at her necklace. Lesee, I got one that lets me teleport, but not very often or very far, and I got one that lets me shoot this energy shard that stuns people for a while, I take that with me when I go out of camp just in case I run into a Rade or something, but I don't have it with me now either. Then I got these two. She pointed at the two dark greenish stones on the outside settings in her necklace. That's the dragon tail and the dragon wings, and the other one is a telepathy stone. I can talk to anybody capable of recieving thought messages with that, but I have to be able to see them and they can't be too far away. Otherwise I can only talk to Hai and you and the other Masques like usual.

Satehl was impressed. The boy leaned forward on the table, closer to Ash as she pointed out what each jewel and gem did. He was a little disappointed that the tail and wings weren't naturally grown, but they were still pretty darn awesome! That just meant he needed to pick up a gem or two. . or three.
Wow! That's something Uta and I never saw - we never ran in to magical jewelry that gave people dragon wings! So can you fly with them? Or are they just for show and effects?
The burger he'd been so happily eating had been quickly forgotten about. Ashy's jewels were much, much more interesting! Satehl couldn't say he'd find any use with telepathy - he was quite content with communicating only to Uta. Speaking to others really hadn't been much of an option outside of Masquerade - and even if he could have, there was little chance he would. The depression that had overcome him had left him close to disabeled. Any spark of life and enjoyement had faded, though he tried to pretend for Uta's sake.
But now that he was back and with Ashirha - none of that mattered. He was finally home. Or at least the closest he'd been in a very long time!
Looking up at him, the pony-tailed boys eyes sparkeled. Well, I for one can't wait to get home! I want to see the others - do they have stones like yours too?? Man, I missed out on EVERYTHING since being gone! But I tell you - I wouldn't want a teleporting one, OH NO! He shook his head fervantly, the fear (such a foreign emotion on Satehl) quite obvious. I've done enough teleporting to last me a lifetime! He lookd up at his friend, a hint of worry shadowing his expression. You be careful when you use it. You don't want to get lost too.
He honestly had a phobia of teleporting. There were too many problems that could happen, too many uncalled for results.

Ash understood why Satehl was put off by the teleport stone, so she felt she should explain a little further. The thing about the teleport stone is that I really CAN'T go very far with it. I also have to be able to see where I'm teleporting to. If it's not in line of sight I can't teleport to it.
She squirmed a bit, having difficulty sitting comfortably with the dragon tail behind her in the booth seat, and finally took the stone out of her necklace. The tail didn't disappear because it was still in contact with her, but she had what she thought was a very fun idea. I can't fly with the wings, not really, but I can glide a bit when I jump from a high place and they keep me from falling too fast. They're even good for bopping people with! She held out her tail stone to him. You wanna borrow it 'til we get back to Masquerade? I had to get two to have both tail and wings, each stone gives 'em randomly to any given one of us, so I dunno if you'll get a tail offa this one or wings. Her eyes turned up in a smile. I can't let you keep it, but this way you won't miss out completely, right?
Her stomach chose that moment to growl loudly and she laughed. Uh... I guess I should eat my food!

The concern diminished quickly in the boy, if only because he wasn't one to let fear geti n his way. Most of the time. Besides, the more Ashy explained it, the more reassured he felt about the idea of his friends disappearing to places. Of course, his fears weren't completely subdued, but it would be a very long time before Satehl trusted that particular ability. Uta knew how to teleport places and she'd gotten them lost twice. Given, it wasn't directly her fault, but it was enough to traumatize the gangly masked child.
Well I guess that's ok then, he lied, giving a little shrug of his shoulders.
When Ash removed one of the jewels and offered it to the boy, he couldn't help but be stunned His violet eyes went wide, and that familiar, impish spark lit his expression. You - you mean it? I can hang on to it for you til we get back!?! His delight was sugar sweet. Of course I'll keep it safe til we get back! Oh wow! Thrilled didn't sum up his excitement, but then it usually didn't take much to please the blitz mask. Any previous darkness over teleportation had faded completely, and he was back to his usual, hyperactive self.
Reaching out with the utmost care, he took the stone, eyes bright with delight. This was going to awesome. He just knew it! A tail or wings, which one!?! Either way, they were both fantastic!
Satehl was too delighted to eat. Food could wait - right now, he got to be part of something super awesome. He got to be like his dear friend, Ashirha - eating was NOT a priority!

Ashirha gave a shrug and dove into her food. It takes about five minutes to go into effect. Maaaan I'm hungry, we had to leave before breakfast to get here on time. She paused and smiled up at her friend. Though I'd have to say it was worth it to find you! She proceeded to eat every available crumb with her terrible teenage appetite and then sipped at her soda. Should be aaaany second now, I think.

((Tail it is!! n.n ))
Satehl was hyped. He had placed the necklace around his neck, and felt like the change was taking forever to happen. Five minutes!? Ugh - that felt like forever! His fingers tapped impatiently on the table, before his brain wrapped around the concept of food. Maybe Ashy had a good idea . . . .
His stomach wasn't quite full!
Snagging his half-devoured burger, he tried not to look anxious. Every now and then, though, he stole a glance behind him - just to see if he might have missed it!
Aww - sorry you had to get up early, but I'm really glad you came!! This is the best day ever! And it truly, truly was.
Inhaling the last of his burger - he was a very fast eater - it happened. The dragon tail appeared on his persona, getting ever so slightly squished between him and the back of the booth.
Eyes growing wide, Satehl practically fell out of his chair. Look! I have a tail, Ashirha! A TAIL! Well, it was technically Ashy's tail, but it was still absoultely fantastic! Squirming in his seat, he attempted to use it. How did one use a tail. . .? Did he just think? Could he wag it? Could he move it?
Oh, he'd figure it out momentarily! He was still excited to have one! Scooching out of his seat, the gangly boy stood and twisted his body, an attempt to see his new appendage. How's it look? Good?
Oh, he had to look AWESOME with a tail!
((How do these crystals work anyway? n.n; I wasn't here for this part (obviously). Do they just kind of naturally move to how he wants to make them move or . . . . ? ))

((They essentially seem to work when the Masque desires for them to work, so yeah, I'd say it's a thought response. It still takes some getting used to and learning how to use it properly, of course, but there it is.))
Ash giggled. Looks great Satehl! Maybe we should see if we can find you some of your own. We'll have to try and get in touch with TB to see where she found them first, but we can try!
They both appeared to be finished, so Ash gathered up the tray and such and took them where they needed to go. Why don't we go look around? I didn't get near as good a look as I wanted to last time I was here.

((Sorry for the delay! n.n My RP muse was being a smidge fickle these past couple days.))
Satehl was so very excited over his new tail! Well, it wasn't permanent, nor really his, but he sure looked neat with it! From what he could tell, of course. He tried to get the tail to swish back and forth, and it did . . . sort of. The force in which it swished was with a bit more force than he expected, and he hit the nearby chair and table.
Ouch. . . It kind of hurt! Eyes wide, the masked boy looked mischieviously up at his friend. This is fantastic!! Who cared if the tail seemed to have a mind of his own and wasn't exactly responding properly. He'd get used to it. And wouldn't it be so exciting it he actually got a chance to find one of these stones!
Oh! How lucky he'd be - did the others have tails and wings and new features and abilities? Was he the only one without?
The blitz boy tried not to think about it. Oh well - unlike his friend, his travels at least had produced SOME stories. Like the dragon and magic carpets!
Scampering after Ashirha, Satehl gave a fervant nod in agreement. Sounds good to me! I don't know how long Uta will be. His voice was a bit wistful as he spoke of his guardian. He hoped they could fix up the ship quickly! Being so close to home was driving the electric child nuts with frustration.
Fetching hold of his friend a second time - he still didn't want to let go, just in case they were parted or worse - he tugged the girl towards the nearest shops. Looking for anything in particularly? And then, compeltely off the tangent of shopping, yet still in the same breath, Have we any pet R.O.U.S yet??? I remember someone found a Rade or something but . . . . He shrugged, giving his friend a quick side-long look. I was gonna capture one and tame it! I should probably pick up some traps or something. . .
