The Carpenters were a vocal and instrumental duo, consisting of siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter. With their brand of melodic pop, they charted a score of hit recordings on the American Top 40, becoming leading exponents of the soft rock or adult contemporary genre and ranking among the foremost recording artists of the decade. It has been estimated that The Carpenters' album and single sales total more than 100 million units, easily making them part of the list of best-selling music artists.

The Carpenters are my all time most favourite group. Most of you will have heard one of their songs somewhere. 'Close to you (They long to be)' Is probably their most famous and brought them the most success. Karen Carpenter however met an unfortunate end after having struggle with Anorexia Nervosa for several years and on her recovery the strain on her heart was too much and she died of heart failure.

Damn no one has posted... I guess that isn't much of a surprise though. *sigh* Well at least I tried spreading the greatness that is The Carpenters.
