Hey people, I was recently talking to bigslip about the song The Wizard and I, and we were both thinking about how mant ironic parts this song had in it, one of them was the line "But i sware someday there will be, a celebration through out Oz, thats all to do with me. If you truly think about it, there is a celebration through out Oz about her, but its about her dying crying . Very ironic!

~~"Excuse me, there's no pretence here:

The people screamed toward her for different reasons, and she melted, but litteraly ninja

I happen to be genuinely self-absorbed and deeply shallow."~~*~~

Also, another ironic part is when she says "When people see me they will scream!" <----See, she thought they would scream FOR her, but really they are screaming because they are scared OF her.

So if you care to find me,
look to the Western sky...

I always thought that whole song was sad, cause she's talking about all the great things she wants to do, only to have them all turn out badly. I mean, the Wizard isn't what he seems, people are scared of her, and the only celebration she gets is for her death. I love that song, but it always makes me sad to listen to it. crying

As someone told me lately,
everyone deserves a chance to fly

There's also the irony of the lyrics of "Dancing through Life," in which Fiyaro sings "Life is painless for the brainless." Fiyaro later becomes the scarecrow, and, as we all know from "The Wizard of Oz," the scarecrow doesn't have a brain. :3

Well, it's true that in The Wizard of Oz the Tinman was indeed 'punished' (indirectly) by the Wicked Witch of the West.
But technically Elphaba didn't do it to punish him.

Am I the only one who realizes that half the stuff they say in the musical Wicked never could have happened according to The Wizard of Oz?
