Hi thar. ;D
This is Mistakenly's Weight Loss (hopefully not gain!) Journal.
Comments, questions, suggestions and motivation are all welcome! 3nodding heart

A little bit about me:

    Name: Kira
    Age: 18
    Height: 5'5"
    Starting Weight: 141 lbs.
    Current Weight: 133.5 lbs. (3/28/07)
Goal Weight: 115-120 lbs. by summer.
    Appx. Current BMI: 22.2
Main Weaknesses: Hunan chicken, and constant snacking because I'm always hungry

As you may be able to see already, I am not overweight. However, I am on the upper end of average, and I'd like to get rid of my chubby stomach/butt/thighs. I want a flat stomach, dammit! D:<

So, I'll do my best to remember and post my daily info here, but I apologize in advance if I forget a day or two.

I also have an account on fitday.com.
This is my public journal: http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=mistakenly
Hopefully that will be updated daily, too. :3

If you guys have any good suggestions for good tummy/butt/thigh workouts that will help me lose the extra weight, please post them! Keep in mind I am a busy art major and I don't have a lot of free time (well, I do, but I procrastinate and spend all my free time on Gaia). Hahah. But seriously; please post any suggestions you may have for me! And motivation is loved, too! ;D

I'll try to update my Current Weight at least once a week. <3

Note/Question of the Day: Which is better to get rid of belly fat--crunches or walking/jogging?

Please don't quote any posts here! I'd like my 'Today's Intake' posts to be the most prominent things; I don't want walls of text. D;

Good luck, you seem to fit in the same category as me biggrin

5lbs a month shouldn't be a problem, healthy weight loss is 2-3lbs per week.

As far as getting flatter abs(and smaller thighs/etc), make sure to do your cardio! That's what gets rid of the fat. No matter how many sit-ups, etc. you do, you won't see the toned muscles underneath fat.

As far as abs go, you don't need to do any crazy amount of sit-ups/crunches...as long as your doing cardio, 10 minutes a day of crunches is acceptable.

Heheh, thanks. <3

Would you mind giving me a little more detail on what you mean by 'cardio'? :] <3

Cardio is basically stuff that gets your heart pumping =)

Examples: Running, walking, dancing, bike riding...and I'm sure there's plenty more I can't think of right now.

Alrighty, thank you. heart

How bad for me are goldfish?
I'm REALLY craving some.
I probably won't be going to bed for at least another hour or two because I still have to read for History...
Guh, so tempting! They're not TOO unhealthy, are they? D:

Nothing is too unhealthy if you eat it in moderation; if you really want them, allow yourself a few of them. Measure out, say, 1 cup or so and just pick at them slowly. 3nodding

Just took some "before" photos of myself in a bikini, to hopefully be able to look back on and laugh at WHEN I lose weight. I think they motivated me more, because I realized how icky my stomach looks and my big legs and all that... So yay, more motivation!

I'm thinking I'll have oatmeal or a yogurt for breakfast tomorrow, and maybe go to the dining hall for lunch, then have something small for dinner before Japanese club.

Fake DDR - For those at college with no TV and their boyfriend is borrowing their PS2

Download StepMania to your computer, and any songs you can find for it.
Load it and go to options -> machine options -> (I forget where you scroll down to).
Turn off 'game over' (so you won't get a game over, even if you don't do anything while the songs are playing).
Back up a few feet from your computer.
Start a song.
Dance to it like you would if you were really playing DDR on a dancepad.

I just did 15 minutes of that, because I needed exercise but I unfortunately don't have real DDR with me right now. But it gives you the same workout you would get if you were on a dancepad, so it's better than nothing!
