I hardly even know what a Garmin is (except that I don't need one) but the ads are pretty awesome. So that's OK in my book.

While I want a nice compact color GPS device, I won't pay the kind of money that Garmin and the other big GPS receiver producers want for that service.
Give me a good topo map and a good compass every time... idea

I just plunk down the extra twenty bucks to buy a map book. No folding necessary and the images are nice and large and easy to read.
