Simple, rolling, and seeming endless plains of grass, some short and some really long. Slice the tall grass up to get some dough if you like.

To get money, post a 4-sentence or more post about your little adventure in The Fields, then Get a Random Number. 1-50.

Max was training in the Fields. It was quite fun for him to do in his free time. He took out his Longsword and swiped at a nearby ChuChu as it bounced slowly away.

"Coward..." Max muttered to himself. He noticed a bunch of bushes nearby and slashed at them, wondering if anybody had a stash in there. He hacked around all of the branches to find a Blue Rupee, which was worth 5 Rupees!

"Perhaps I'll save up for something nice, like a shield, or a horse." Max muttered to himself, not angry nor happy at the moment. He continued down the road.

Max continued down Hyrule Fields, looking for another opponent. It was quite hard to find a monster worth your skill in the fields, and fighting usually got really boring. Max took his Longsword out and wiped the sweat from his face. It was not easy running so much. That could always serve as his training if there weren't any monsters around.

Max then reached into his Wallet and pulled out a Blue Rupee from just before. He looked through it, bored, and put it back. Not much fun out in the wilderness nowadays.

Max then saw a small rock. He peeked under it, hoping to find some kind of stash. But he found nothing. It was a waste of time to bother looking around here, his last discovery was just a small stroke of luck.

Max took his long training session step by step, not skipping a heartbeat, looking around for an opponent. He took his sword and a cloth out and started to clean it of goo and blood. Max had forgotten to do this earlier.

Max then looked to his right and saw a ChuChu. It was a purple glob with a nucleus inside of it. Max seized the oppurtunity for any type of enemy and put away the cloth he was using to clean his sword. He then charged at the ChuChu.

The ChuChu tried to dodge, but Max cut it clean in half. Then, both of the two, divided small halves jumped at Max. He felt confused and slashed at one of them, while dodging the other's attack. There were now 1 large sized one and 2 small ones. Max took a quick sidestep and stabbed downward at one small ChuChu. It started to seemingly melt into the ground.

Then, the other ChuChu jumped at Max. Max quickly split in in half, leaving him with three ChuChus again. He quickly stabbed one and it disappeared, while the other one jumped on Max.

Max struggled to get it off. He then took his sword and stabbed it from the side. The ChuChu started to slide off of Max's chest like Jello and slide into the dirt like the other. There was one left.

Max turned without hesitation and struck it almost blindedly. It then slid into the earth, like the others. Max then searched the premesis for dropped Rupees. Spotting a green shine in the distance, Max reached for the gem. It was a Green Rupee.

"Cheap bastards..." Max growled, considering the battle a waste of time.

Rednal quietly relaxed against a tree in the expansive fields, one of the better local places for shade. A haunting melody echoed throughout the surrounding area from his flute, a simple item he had gotten a long time ago to pass the time with. Sighing slightly, the boy put his instrument away and got to his feet, stretching slightly. Then, almost idly, he pulled a wrapped spear-shaped item off of his back and began walking forward, using it like a walking stick. In the back of his mind, Rednal wondered if it was blasphemy to use his weapon that way.

Rednal continued walking, seeming at ease in the wide, open, and pleasantly warm fields of Hyrule. A bit of loose cloth came off the end of his weapon, revealing the tip of a sparkling red gem. Rednal frowned, knowing the trouble his weapon could cause if exposed, and stopped walking. Grumbling slightly, he tied the cloth tight again, and swung the weapon around to strike through a nearby bush. As the poor plant was uprooted, a blue rupee dropped out of it.

Rednal frowned. How the heck did money get inside bushes, anyways? Or any of the weird places it showed up in Hyrule? Sighing, he picked it up anyways. Living a life without money was important, but even people like him needed it to get by.

Unfortunately, however, some people had taken that little tidbit of information a little too far. Whatever could be said about the people of Hyrule, good or bad, they DID give generouly to the Church. That was, in Rednal's humble opinion, the root of the problem. All things considered, the priests often embezzled from the funds, taking it for their own benefit so they could live a life of luxury, and under the eyes of the Goddess of Law, Nayru, no less. Grudgingly, Rednal did admit that it took guts to do that.

Guts or no, that didn't make it right. The corruption of the priests was what had prompted Rednal, a rapidly rising member of the priest's community, to leave. The boy kicked a rock in irritation, and found a green rupee lying under it. Maybe the Goddesses did it? Shrugging, and knowing better than to question good fortune, the boy picked up the rupee and kept walking. He didn't think that Din, Nayru, or Farore would find fault in him for picking up money in the wilderness. It was hardly theft.

What had prompted Rednal's exit from the church, though, was when he had found out about the corruption. Prior to the time he had been ordained as a full Priest - the youngest ever to achieve the title - he had known nothing about the problems in Hyrule's Church. It had shaken him to the core when he realized that the other Priests took hundreds of rupees a day from the offerings.

A squeaking drew his attention. Rednal looked over to find a flashing creature speeding towards him. A bombchu, interestingly enough. Rednal immediately got into a defensive stance. Unlike the fat fools who ran the Church, he had actually followed Nayru's instructions and kept his body fit. As the critter neared him, he sidestepped its attack and flung it into the air by hooking its bottom with the tip of his weapon and heaving. The creature flew upwards and exploded, a green rupee falling into Rednal's hand. Seven in all he'd earned so far. Somebody WAS looking out for him; he could eat for a week.

Moving away from the charred remains of the explosive critter, Rednal idly headed towards the distant profile of a town. He didn't care so much where he went; as Nayru said, the journey was what mattered. Wise words indeed. Pausing to scoop up another green rupee that appeared when his walking stick/lance caught on a rock and pulled it up, the boy reflected on how he had actually gotten the magnificent item in the first place. It certainly hadn't been legal.

Rednal had stolen it. The other Priests must have realized that it was missing by now, and with him gone, it would be obvious who had taken it. Melody, the Holy Lance, one of the sacred relics of Hyrule. It was said that that the Goddesses themselves had appeared before a King in the distant past and delivered it to him for use in the battle that would be fought the next day. True or not, the weapon was certainly considered a holy relic of the church, and it was definitely enchanted. The corrupt Priests would do anything to get it back from him; only the Master Sword itself outranked his weapon, though several others equaled it in value.

A green blob hopped out of the ground and lunged at Rednal, foolishly hoping that he might make a good meal. Rednal's weapon shot forward, piercing the creature through its center. Even through the wrappings, the power of the lance was enough to turn the creature back into only so much slime. A green rupee glittered on the ground.

Rednal decided not to ask, but picked it up anyways.

Another squeaking Bombchu dashed forward at him, attracted by the sight of Rednal's moving weapon. It was dispatched as well, exploding high into the air. Another green rupee - his tenth, if he recalled right - dropped into his hand. Rednal wondered. Were monsters the source of Hyrule's currency? Did the banks breed Bombchu and other beasts to harvest gems? That would be very creepy.

After a few moments, Rednal sat down, untied the cloth at the tip of his weapon, and pulled it down to reveal the glittering red gem that formed the point. Smaller blue and green gems made the side prongs, to stop enemies from sliding down the weapon. Holy artifact that it might be, Rednal intended to take good care of it. After finding nothing that warranted attention, he wrapped it back up, stood up, and continued.

Death to the Darkness, the Priests would chant. Only terror and pain followed the existence of anything except the light. Rednal didn't listen to that. It was true that Evil was unnecessary, but Darkness was used even by the Goddesses. Nayru, for example, the Goddess of Wisdom and the Giver of Law. Laws had to be enforced; Darkness was when a criminal was punished. If that was done away with, people could do anything without fear of retribition. Rednal kicked a rock as far as he could, scooping up another green rupee and putting it in his money bag. Idiot Priests; they probably didn't even pray anymore.
