Post your Dir en Grey Live experiences ^_^
PostPosted: Sat Feb 10, 2007 7:00 pm

I went to the Toronto show last night. It was AMAZING! It was my first concert ever, and I had SO MUCH FUN! We missed Bleed the Dream standing in line. The line was MASSIVE. It was a sold out show. Turns out there's a LOT of fans in the Toronto area. We saw Fair to Midland play though, and they really weren't impressive at all. The crowd mostly stood there staring at them like "wtf is this?". Then they left the stage, and everyone started chanting and pushing "DIR EN GREY! DIR EN GREY!" and then like 15-20 mins later, the music started playing, and the crowd started screaming "KYO KYO KYO KYO" and they came out. I IMMEDIATELY started screaming "KYO-SAMA! KYO-SAMA! AISHITERU!" They played a lot of songs I didn't know, but they also played almost all of my favourites, so it totally balanced out. But as soon as they started playing, the crowd went NUTS! Everyone started pushing, and then a huge section fell over. I was on the bottom of said pile-up I think I might have killed the poor Japanese girl I landed on! I was the last one back up too, which kind of sucked...But once I was back on my feet I was careful not to fall again. Kaoru spat water out into the crowd, and it hit me in the corner of the forehead, which was cool. I was so happy, they played Agitated Screams of the Maggots, The Final, Dead Tree, Clever Sleazoid, Merciless Cult, Obscure. Not necesarrily in that order mine you, and there were way more, but these are the ones I remember clearly. When they left the stage, we stood their screaming for an encore for fifteen minutes until they came back out. The concert was SO AWESOME! I saw Kyo cutting himself, and I made eye contact with him SIX TIMES! and when he spat water near the end it got in my mouth ^_^ Also when Die threw water it hit me in the face. It was awesome. But I definately learned some stuff for future concerts..1 being dont wear a winter jacket unless you plan to use the coat check cause the heat might kill you, 2 being im never again bringing a purse. at one point I got stuck between to Japanese guys so tightly that I couldnt breathe. I almost threw up on them at one point :S It was crazy though! Kyo was just going nuts, and he put a bucket on his head that said "RAPE ME". The bucket totally made my day. Totchi picked up the mic stand upside down, screamed into it, and then whipped it across the stage, it was AWESOME! and Kyo jumped off his little platform thing, it looked like he landed hard too...Wow I am so pumped today after all this

lol wow that is awesome!! Well here is mine but it's from the Family Values Tour. My First Concert as well. Well here you go:

Well everyone, Rose here and im back from the concert.Yes i am very exhausted and tired, but i will say that it was a ******** bad a** time. When we got to the concert (after we had finished eating), there was a long line. But it wasn't too too long. We waited for like................. an hour an a half to an hour. But then after a good while the lines started moving, and they had lines for girls, and one for the guys. So my friends Melissa and Amanda, along with myself, went to the girls side, and my other friend Albert went to the guys side. So the girl Secuirty lady checked us, we were clean. They gave me a cup to put my water from my water bottle in. Then we went in and we waited for Albert. Then we all met back up again, and we started to make our way to a little vender that was selling the tour shirts. Melissa and I were looking at the shirts. We were not going to buy one just yet. So we left that little place, and started making our way up the little path. I think it was Amanda who noticed the Japanese guy standing in front of a tent where they were selling cd's and dvd's of korn deftones and dir en grey. So Amanda asked if he was one of the guys from Dir en grey, so i yell out IIE! and then Melissa yelled out NANI!! So that guy looked at us, and he smerked at melissa. When he looked at me, he got his Lip ring (which looks like the one Miyavi has) and snaped it out of his teeth. I reacted in front of his face and he was smiling big. Then he saw our shirts (melissa's and mine) and told us that they will be having a meey and greet @ 6:00. So we were like, oh ok thank you. But she and I were so embarrased, we kinda blew him off, but not in a bad way. So then Amanda gets to talk to him, While Melissa, Albert and I were looking at the cd's from Dir en grey, and they were signed by all the members of Dir en grey! So then i turn to find amanda, she was behind me, and then she tells me. That the guy that was talking to us was Dir en grey's Tour Manager. When i heard that, i was just like......WHAT THE ********!!!!!! I ******** freaked out and i was just in awe. I mean he looked so ******** hot!! plus not to mention, i was nervous just even talking to him to begin with, lol. So i buy the Withering ti death cd with the guy's signature, and then i bought the New single that Dir en gry has out right now. The single i bought comes with Ryoujoku no Ame, The Final [Live] ~ Higeki Ha Mabuta Wo Oroshita Yasashiki Utsu [Live] ~ and Mr. Newsman [Live]. And let me tell you, as im writing this out, i am listening to his single right now. And im just swaying left and right at kyo's beautiful voice. Anyways, back to the concert. After we bought the cd's, we went to go look for our seats, because it was REALLY HOT! so we got out seats, and we drank some ice cold water to cool us off. Not to mention that the water i had put in the cup when i came in, i asked albert to pour it on my head to cool me off before we got the ice cold water. so he did, but he wanted to throw the water at me like he was pissed off, lol. So i he put a good amount of water on my head, and then i let him throw the water at me. and i must say, it was funny as ********, but in the end, it was very cooling afterwards, lol. So as melissa and amanda went to go get the ice water, albert and i stayed behind and he and i saw the first band. They were pretty good i must say (i will post the line-up at the bottom of this message). So Melissa and Amanda came back to finish seeingthe first band, and then the rest were pretty good. Then they put up the Dir en grey drop down pictre, and so melissa and me were screaming our lung out. Then they brought out Shinya's drums out, and we screamed even more. So they started walking out we screamed as loud and high as we could. Here are the songs they played, but it's not in the order they sang them in, just the first song i will write, but the rest are not in order. Here we go: Merciless Cult, Saku, Kodoku Ni Shisu Yueni Kodoku-, Garbage, dead tree, The Final, Ryoujoku no Ame, Clevor Sleazoid, The III D Empire. They were just amazing, eventhought they had some trouble with the electronics and stuff, but other then that they were just ******** amanzing. After they performed we ran to the meet and greet. But in-order to meet and greet them, you need a wrist band with skulls on them. (that's what they had here i dunno if it will be the same anywhere else) So i wore my wrist band all day (and i still have it on right now, lol) So we all thought it was going to be the whole band, but then my best friend albert went to see if the while band was gonna come, but then he said it was only two members, but they didn't say who. So after what felt like forever, and i almost got a ******** heat stroke, Shinya and Kaoru came out walking to the tent. Melissa and i were bowing and saying Arigato to the camera guy that was recording. So everyone started getting in a better line to greet them. Melissa had the camera and she took a picture of kaoru, and then Shinya. When it was my turn, for some reason i wasn't all that nervous. I look Kaoru straight in the eyes and shook his hand and i said, "Arigato Kaoru-san" and i bowed when i said it. After i said it, kaoru looked at me twice and gave me a big smile showing his teeth. So i got alittle shy and giddy. Then i went to Shinya and i told him, "Arigato Shinya-san" and i bowed to him as well. So Shinya gave me the same looked Kaoru did, and then he bowed to me at the end. They both gave me a big smile showing teeth, it was awesome. Thier hands were so smooth and soft. Kaoru's hand was thin. Shinya's hand was a little thiner then kaoru's. Then Melissa got a few more pictures of both of them. I'll find a way to post the pictures here, no need to worry. So after that we went back to our seats.we saw Stone Sour, Deftones (with toshiya on the sides rocking out to the band. which was an awesome and funny thing.) and then the main event KORN!!! I don't care if some of you dislike korn, i can give a rats a**, but they are my favorite band and i love them to death. Jonathan Davis performed awesome. The rest of the guys were awesome as well. Korn played a couple new songs from the new album, and some old songs from the previous albums. They ******** rocked so bad. So that's all i have to say about the concert. I believe i said everything i needed to say about it. But if i did forget to mention something, i will post it. Well everyone, take care and good luck with your turn when they come to your town, or somewhere near it, lol.ARIGATO KAORU AND SHINYA!!!!!! ja mata ne!! (^.^)

So my Dir en grey experience first but sadly started at Family Values. They were just finishing off when i got there sad And i didn't really get to see them. Then when i heard that they were staring another tour. And it started on my Birthday! (that has gotta be a sign!)
And so 21 days into the tour they came to Az! Me my dad and my friend Katie went to Diru! ME and Katie took off from my dad and went straight for the front. While Bleed the Dream were playing They were purty cool : xp Then while they were playing they were like "Hell yea Arizona! Are you guys ready for ******** Dir en grey! Come on and Scream for them!" I was like hell yea! razz Then Fair to Midland confused They were kinda wierd. But When they were finally over DIr en grey Came on And the whole crowd was like pushing for the front. Luckilt me and KT were In the front and were staying there! mrgreen They started off with GDS and then came Shinya Then Kauro and we chose like the perfect spot cause we were right in front of Die!!!! lol Kyo had the most buttiful voice ever! And he was so Hot! Kauro came over to our side of the crowd and spit water out and it was all over my face! burning_eyes When they finished. crying They came out again for the Encore and man i swear it went really crazy we were thrown all over the place! wink Then when we new that they were finished was when they threw there picks and drum stix out and i caught Dies pick!!! And then Die and kuaro went off the stage to the side of the crowd and spat water and i got doubles spit! lol
And the next morning i was sore as hell! But it was well worth it! whee

Maplewood, MN 6-17-2007

This was my first Dir en grey concert.

It was amazing, but was over way too soon.

I can't recall right now all the songs they did.

I know these for sure:

The Final
Saku

Mostly why I can't remember is because they played some songs I hadn't heard yet, the other is because I was tired by the time I got time, and I didn't think to bring a pen with, to write down at least the songs I knew, while they were still fresh in my head.

Shinya, of course, was amazing. I couldn't see Die's hair very well, unfortunately. After the first song Kyo went shirtless. I could see the marks from where he scratched himself.

I was on Die's side of the stage. At one point he poured water over his head. So I got to see him with wet hair.

I couldn't see much of Kaoru and Toshiya, due to them being on the opposite of the stage. cry

I did at least manage to get pics of them all.

Kyo did his fish-hook thing. Oh, and also his sexy dancing. whee

They didn't throw anything for us to catch.

I wanted to get as close to the stage as possible, and when I got as far as I could, I ended up standing behind this Asian guy, who looked back, and smiled at me. He actually smiled at me 3 or 4 times. heart
He wears glasses. heart

The one thing I'm bummed about is I didn't have enough for a tshirt. I had no clue they'd cost $30.

So, now I have a question.

Does anyone here have an extra tshirt? Or for anyone who has yet to go see them, is there anyone who'd be willing to buy an extra shirt?

If so, please PM me.

The first time I was suppossed to see them was at FVT last summer at Jones Beach. The show got cancelled 2 bands before they were suppossed to hit the stage because it was a tropical storm and the orchestra seats flooded (if you search for Bullets and Octane on Youtube, they have a video they shot the day of that show). So, that sucked as a b-day gift.

Then, I finally saw them on Feb 10th, with my mom. She freaked a bit cause I didn't remind her about the blood thing before hand. But she throughly enjoyed it. I had a great view, because the Nokia Times Square Theater has 2 levels and I was right up front on the 2nd level, plus there was a giant TV over my head that I could look at too.

And, most recently I was at the June 8th show in NYC where we were 3rd row from the stage. There were easily more fans there for Diru than the Deftones by the time doors opened. Unfortunately, some Deftones fans decided that they were gonna push their ways forward early, nevermind that every Diru fan left after their set, so it was kinda rude and obnoxious. But all in all a fantastic show.

My friends went the 2nd night too and apparently Kyo tripped over his mic cord and took it out on Toshiya's mic stand. Then Toshiya realized he needed to sing but their was no mic so he stole Kaoru's. Then Kaoru was left slightly confused.

I was so close. When they came out it was pure joy running threw my veins. Their last song of the night was IIID Empire, a song from Vulgar. It was an amazing show.

I first saw them live at FVT in Saratoga Springs, NY. I only got lawn seats so I was pretty far away, but I was in the front row against the gate on the lawn. :/ I don't remember much of the concert though, I know they played a lot of songs from WtD and one or two from Vulgar. Afterwards there was the Meet and Greet. Huuuuge line, and the group in front of me were big DeG fans too. Then they split the line in two (turns out most of the people there were in line for the KoRn signings). I wound up right in the front of the DeG line (still behind the group of kids who were passing around posters for the fans to sign for the band). We stood around in the rain for nearly an hour before we actually got to meet them. I think it was also the only FVT show where the whole band came out. It was a pretty quick ordeal. Just say a few things, shake their hands, give em something if you want and move on. I don't really remember what order they were in, but I do remember Kyo was the first one and he looked reeeeaaally unhappy to be there. XD And Shinya's hand was cold.

My second Live was DeG with the Deftones and Fall of Troy, at Northern Lights in (I think) Clifton Park, NY. FoT wasn't that bad but I couldn't make out anything they said besides "********". stare DeG took forever setting up too. I was pretty close to the stage, there was some VK chick in the front row who was elbowing everyone around her. Then two tall guys decided to stand in front of me and my friend and I had to wriggle past them (the 'pretty smile' and 'eyelash batting' and a polite "mind if I squeeze up here?" actually gets a girl pretty far in a mosh pit--especially if you're kind of short!). We were on the right side in front of Die (who looked pretty bored most of the time and kept flipping his hair oddly). Amazing concert pretty much. Afterwards my friends and I sat in the back of the restaurant-like section (where we later discovered we weren't supposed to be sitting). One of DeG's roadies kept walking by us so we made some cat-calls at him for fun. >:3 One of the radio announcers who works for the station that helped put on the event or whatever took some pictures of the crowd while Dir en Grey was setting up ("Everyone give a nice big '******** You' for the camera!!"), and called them the "auditory g-spot" when everyone went crazy when he announced them. Great night. :]
