just back from my isai training. part of the training is to... well fight others. so, since everyone was taken, some newbie who's barely a month in the... how to say it.... club? challenged me. it was my second fight of the day. turns out the slimy b*****d was watching me on my first fight and managed to actually hit me mad (once... but still mad )
now i need to make up a new style >< (in isai, each develops a unique style that suits him best, this is why its probably better than... anything you learn.)
meh. i just needed to release some steam xd anyway, did anyone else had an encounter with an evil newbie of this sort?

i dunno. maybe you should have decided not to accpet the challenge because he was a newb. thats what i would have done, avoided teh situation all together.

If he can analyze a fighting style from just a single match, is he that much of a newbie?
Just sayin...

You train to your own style, that's what I do. It's okay to take a hit now and then. Just cuz you take a hit, doesn't mean you lose the fight.
Also, even the n00biest of n00bs land a hit every now and then.
What you can do to take off the stress and anger is just congratulate him, and offer to spar with him.
You can develop a defense that works very well against him, and you'll feel better.

Then you're obviously not as good as you thought. Suck it up and get better, or accept that you got beat.
Everyone loses sometimes. Just be thankful it was in the dojo and not in the street where you can't get back up after losing.

lol...this has never happened to me, so I guess I'm not the best source for the answer.
But yeah, try to keep a positive attitude...

i think, you greatly over estimate yourself and it could get you seriously hurt someday. Even masters take hits, sure its possible to be in a fight where you take no hits, but thats also a downside, then you never learn how to take a hit, and never learn how to direct a hit at you, making it that much worse when you end up getting hit good or being grounded by someone a little quicker then you anticipate. There is nothing wrong with getting hit in a fight, like it was said before just because you took a hit does not mean you lost, ( unless its tkd sparing lawl) i mean even the brown belts will take a good hit even once in a while from the lower belts.
the type of art you are in sounds to me a like a free role call system, they are beneficial for long time participants because then you learn a lot more and learn how to direct it for your personal style. where arts with forms as such are better for people new to martial arts because it builds structure and give theories early on.

Sakuto Uchiha He said a brown belt helped him analyze his technique. Hmm. Mybe you don't need a new technique then. Maybe you should just get faster

Sakuto Uchiha He said a brown belt helped him analyze his technique. Speed is good. Just don't sweat the loss. The battle, not the war, ya know?

i don't think you should get all worked up about this. he hit you, so what? learn from him. and i personally think that you accepting his challenge knowing you'd beat him and knowing he didn't have much experiace, is a arrogant cocky thing to do.
