Edit by Sita Harker: This story is being posted here at FictionPress.com

Alright, I figured this was an appropriate game considering this is a literature-based guild. This game is fun, but involves a little more though than some of the others, so here we go... heart

The concept is easy. I'll start off with a sentence to begin the story. Then the next person adds another sentence and we keep building sentences into a story.

For Example:

I would post:
Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess.

Then the next person may post:
She lived with her wicked step mother.

Rules:

You can only post one sentence at a time. If you want to write something else you are going to have to wait until someone else writes a sentence first! (This rule may be revised if there is not enough interest to keep the story going.) EDIT: You may write one sentence of speech and then one or two to clarify who is speaking, if that is required. For example:

"We will never be able to get this box open in time!" Shouted Karyn.

Try to keep the theme fantasy-ish. It is more fun that way.

Keep it PG people. Let's not corrupt the minds of our young - or young at heart! - Gaians.

If the story gets too difficult to write, start a new one. However, please state that you are doing so. Also, don't abuse this privilege by constantly starting new stories - just because you can't think of anything to write does not mean that it is the same for everyone. Do your best to think of a sentence!

If there arises a situation in which you need to say something that is not part of the story, please put it in (parenthesis).

Try to have good spelling and grammer. I am not asking for perfection (I make lots of mistakes of my own...trust me!) but please refrain from 1337 and chatspeak. They do nothing to compliment your intelligence.

Have fun!!! (this is mandatory!)

This is a great way to release some creativity. Okay, let's see what we can do!

I'll start:

(Lady Pole, I love the addition! heart )

The kingdom of Athgarnia was crumbling; its king was old and ailing and its heir apparent was a mere child. For miles in every direction, the greedy and ruthless could sense the opportunity. It wouldn't be a difficult thing to take the throne - become regent to the young prince and you would rule without opposition.

(What a fun game!)

It wouldn't be a difficult thing to take the throne - become regent to the young prince and you would rule without opposition. However, there was the trifling matter of that meddling, strong willed, yet mysterious peasant man that seemed to have taken a silent vow to protect the boy.

(Great idea Aeliara! A new character! What shall we name him? Brainstorming session! Give some ideas in parenthesis, if you have any! heart )

The man watched, the young prince cradled in his arms, as the possible regents bickered and squabbled over whom should be the regent.

"These 'men' are worse then spoiled children," she muttered under her breath just loud enough so the tiny prince's keeper could hear, for which she was rewarded with a grin.

(1337? And names: Sita, Callisto, Bellatrix, Arha, Islanzadi. Boys names: Nicolas, Nicolai, Gabriel, Galbatorix, Joshua, Jonathan. Little prince... well we can't have anything too sappy or cute)
