Normally, I don't do VS. threads, but how can you not compare these two?

In one corner, we have the tough, slightly-antisocial swordsman whose ambition is only matched by his love of alcohol, sleeping and fighting. In the other corner, we have the trash-talking, cigarette-smoking cook, who literally melts at the sight of a lady and has kicks that burn through walls. The rivalry between these two has been raging since the One Piece's early days, giving us much laughter and the some of the best of fighting scenes. So now we come to the question: Who do YOU think is better?

Note: The thread is for discussion of the both the better character and fighter, but the poll is for the better character only.

In a fight? Ohhhh..... Sorry Sanji, I love you in all, but I gotta say Zoro would win.

sanji is a better charachter, i think. he's funnier, and he seems to be alot more involved in the crew. zoro is a way better fighter, though.

Zoro would win in a battle, but when it comes to social abilities Sanji would win. Sanji knows how to make people think and wise words sometimes come out of his mouth when he's not swooning over ladies. Also, Sanji is smart when it comes to fighting - he knows his enemy's weakness and does critical things that leads to victory throughout the One Piece series.

I, personally, like Zoro because of his superhuman strength and his stupidity when he loses directions of where he's going. rofl

I think that Zoro would probably beat Sanji in a real, serious match. Because I'm not sure how Sanji would be able to block against Zoro's Asura attack... I guess he could kick all nine swords out of the way?? Is he fast enough though...? @.@ And Zoro seems to be more stronger than Sanji. Although Zoro can't match up to Sanji in kicking, Sanji can't match up to Zoro in arm strength (remember those weights Zoro practices with?! I can't believe Merry didn't sink with those on there!! gonk )

As for personality, I love both.

Zoro is all tough and he sort of observes and waits for when he is needed in battle. He's pretty smart (even though he's still stupid. Haha, his sense of direction is the worst, man. I can't even describe it in words. It's just bad. Totally baaaaad.) in his fighting plans (during Water 7 arc, he did a lot of planning and speaking which demonstrated his insights). I also like how he has his own 'code' that he will never break even if it means he'll die because of it. But, I think he's more selfish than Sanji so I don't like that aspect of him. All in all, Zoro is like the epitome of 'manliness' in the Mugiwara crew and since he is such a 'manly man', it just makes it more fun to completely embarass him and make fun of him. ^__^ He's cute like that.

Now, Sanji might curse a lot and smoke, but he is suave and level-headed (at least when he needs to be). Just like Zoro, he has his own 'code': never hurt girls. And he'd rather die than break his code. He's a very sweet character who cares deeply for his nakama, whether it's Usopp or Luffy (and of course Robin and Nami). He goes out of his way to help out his friends (like warning Usopp about Aqua Laguna) and he's smart in the way he seems to 'look outside the box' and eventually save the day (like in Little Garden and Alabasta arc). He's also cute in the way he is so enthusiastic about his dreams and that he has that special smile he puts on whenever he is truely happy. Not a smirk or a suave grin. His genuine smile is very nice to look at and fills me with a sort of warmth. ^__^ Oh, and of course his dorkiness around girls makes him funny, too.

So, I think I like Sanji's personality better than Zoro's because he just seems to care more. ^^;;

I think both would be matched in a fight...like you said in the first part of the post...Sanji could kick all the swords away from Zoro...if he's fast enough...but if we all remember from every episode and such...before CP9 he actually had moments when he disappeared and reappeared because of how fast he is...he also was faster then that buggle lady...can't remember what her name was. But he was faster in physical body with out using a technique...even he was able to counter the Sorus movement. A sword is hard to block...but Diable is the devils power...and the devil is a sort of god. Asura is a god as well...not to mention for all we know Asura could just be a one attack move...as for Sanjis Diable Jambe it is a multi attack move. But Zoro and Sanji both have the power of gods now...so we all need to take that into consideration. I like Sanji ALOT more then Zoro...but in a real fight i would say it would be a tie.

Zoro is cool and all, but sanji is awesome!!!!!!
