Hey everyone! I thought we could use a thread like this one to discuss some neat, strange or curious things about this awesome game. I'll go first!
Did you know that Emmanuel Kant defined the Enlightenment, in the essay "Answering the Question: What is Enlightenment?", as an age shaped by the motto, "Dare to know" (latin: Sapere aude)? This involved thinking autonomously, free of the dictates of external authority. Kant's work served as a bridge between the Rationalist and Empiricist traditions of the 18th century. He had a decisive impact on the Romantic and German Idealist philosophies of the 19th century. His work has also been a starting point for many 20th century philosophers.
What do you think about this? There's a rapier named the Sapere Aude so I thought we could talk about this.
So, have you found anything curious about a weapon, item or event in FFTA?

Now that's a cute bit of info. Where'd you learn that?
All I really know is that the weapon called "Falchion" is a sword type. And that Marth has "Falchion" in his games.

Thanx! I thought you'd like it. I found it by chance when I was helping Leslie (I think I mentioned her before on another thread) with her homework. I found it on wikipedia to be precise and I liked it, so I figured that a thread about such things would be a good idea. I probably should have consulted with you first but I was really excited to see something like this. sweatdrop
So, doesn't anyone have something to share that fits the category?
Say, I do remember seeing the Falchion on another game. I wonder if it was Castlevania...

All about the Falchion. All about the Zanmato, mistranslated from Zanbato. All about the Estoc. All about Adramelech. All about the Minerva Plate. All sites used are wikipedia, but I have found other credible sources.

Cool! I'm looking at the "Falchion" link right now. But as far as I've read, it doesn't have to do much with anything "curious" like the name of the thread suggests. Thanx for the links though! I'm gonna keep reading them all. 3nodding

most of the rapiers are epees not foils since the epee is a hacking killing weapon whereas the foil is the duelists weapon..
i know this since im an epee-ist :3

Really? Do you think the "Epeprism" qualifies more as an Epee then? How about the Joyeuse? I've seen that one pop up in a couple of CV games as well. 3nodding
But you know, I just remembered that the "Sapere Aude" is actually a rod. he-he

lol well epees have large hand guards and hilts so if they do then yes but if there is little hand guard then its a foil blade since in foil you only score points from a chest hit since it bueling it was first blood from the chest.

Ah, so that's how you identify the epees from the rapiers. Cool to know...
I've never tried fencing but it looks very interesting. Especially in those Bond movies, he-he.

what about the one where you can instandly win the first snowball fight and the battle with llender in the throne room?
and yeah fencing is REALLY expensive the sword itself is 70 pounds or about $137 if my covertion came out right...

Wait a sec, what about the instant win snowball fight? I had no idea there was a way to instantly win the snowball fight. How did you do it? Oh and, you must mean the battle with Llednar, right? That llender si not something I'm not aware of, is it? So umm, what about the battle with Llednar? What is so curious about it?

There is, I think it's a glitch, but if you can get behind the throne in 1 turn, its an instant win (if I remember right). Snowball fight, not sure. I never heard about that so no info about it.

Really? How can anyone do that? Items that increase movement are rather hard to come by in that point of the game. Unless you trade of course...
You know, in the glitches section of gameFAQs, they don't mention that glitch (or the snowball fight) at all! Maybe you could submit it...
