Fasting and other various ways of making yourself light-headed, woozy, and prone to hallucinating do not, in my opinion, help a great deal with that sort of thing. If you don't go in with a clear head, how could you ever assume it was real?

I would like to try that but i dont see how i'd get away with starving myself without my parents noticing. I would be good to try.

You could try juice fasting. You're technically not starving yourself, but you're avoiding the "heaviness" of regular food.
I'm not sure about fasting triggering an awakening. I've heard that it provides spiritual clarity after you get out of the whole "OMG so hungry" phase, but I've never been able or had the drive to make it that far.

If you don't go in with a clear head, how could you ever assume it was real? I probably have a hundred arguments to that, but probably not one of them makes sense. And that is my argument.

I don't think I'll be in the right state of mind after not eating for like, a year.
Regardless, from a religious point of view, fasting always HAS brought good things.
Idunno, really. Look into it.

No one who's A) Still growing, physically, or B) In school trying to learn things ought to be doing any fasting. And if you do decide to try fasting, consult your doctor FIRST and ask how to do it SAFELY.

Personally I never did try to fast... I get hungry too much. sweatdrop
Also personally, as I would explain once I figure out whether to just type it in the intro or somewhere in this thread... I guess I've had two awakenings, unless it counts as one... Because in middle school I realized I believed I was a dragon, and then for about three years I think, leading into my final year of high school I had denied it, and then it sort of decided to come rushing back to smack me upside the head. gonk
