Not Love
Everytime I see it,
It sweeps me off my feet.
Everytime I hear of it,
I know it's bittersweet.
Lead me not into temptation,
I know the way myself.
But if you get between it and me,
You'll want to kill yourself.
I'm sorry if I've confused you,
And if you're 'bout to run away,
Allow me to say one more thing,
Before you creep away.
This thing I speak of isn't love,
But something that's much like it.
When I get hold, You'd better run.
It's a little thing called Chocolate.
----I wrote that in Algebra class out of boredom.----
Believe Me
It's hard for me to tell you,
I'm afraid I'll chase you away.
I'm afraid of what you'll think of me.
Will it ever be the same?
I'll try my best to write it here,
So maybe you'll not leave yet.
But what if you don't notice?
What'll I do?
When you pass by and smile at me,
The wave and kindness blow me away.
And when I smile back,
There's more to it than just friendship.
When you pat me on the head playfully,
My smile is filled with content and joy.
And if I sound like I don't speak the truth,
Please believe me.
I love you.

Pride
It's what we all need.
Pride.
It's what we all want.
Something.
But where does it get us?
No where.
Pride is the lion,
The heart inside of us,
And his cousins, siblings,
Greed, Desire, Hate, Lust
And in the end,
It takes us all down.
Pride.
----Another random 'midnight-written' poem.----
Leaves
I am a woman.
I change with the emotional seasons,
I go, following the winds of life.
I fall as soon as my base has died.
I am the stem of all issues.
I move within myself,
I change my own heart.
But my soul is not with the heart.
I am the veins, transferring knowledge.
I am the color you see everywhere,
I am the life of myself.
I hold myself hostage in my heart.
As green and malleable as envy.
I am what people think of me.
Gorgeous, Ugly, Alive, Dead.
I am the descision maker for lovers.
I am the petals of my personality.
I am many parted.
If one dies, my others can't live.
I am as changing as the autumn sky.
I am no mere woman.
I am the life of the earth.
I am the leaves.
---Just a poem my friend asked me to write---
Till Death do I Part
Attraction
You take me by the hand.
My life just took a turn.
ONe look in your eyes,
I'm swept off my feet.
Flirtation
You tease me with your words.
My smile just grew for you.
One touch of your hand,
My heart skitters away with you.
Infatuation
You twirl me across a dance floor.
My life is eternally yours.
One ring, two words we spoke,
I'm dancing life away with you.
Strangulation
You used the cloth to kill me.
My trust of you was denied.
One action, one invasion of me,
My blood is now on your hands.
I said "I do"
You said "I don't"
With these words we were bound,
Till Death did I part.
---Inspired by one of the commercials for the Court TV Show entitled "Till Death do we Part"---
War's Heroes
I never wanted to do this.
I just wanted to help.
But I got put in this uniform,
A gun in my hands.
I can't do this!
He just ran at me,
Crying out in his language,
His knife was raised
With eyes for my blood.
One gunshot.
The shrieking stops.
His wife and children, though,
They start crying, screaming,
Words of hate and sorrow fill my ears.
I'm pulled off, told
That the 'situation' will be 'taken care of'.
And I can't help but realize.
His blood is on the ground because of me.
Soldiers are no heroes.
We're just murderers in disguise.
---Not meant to insult soldiers...just a poem of realization---
